When The Aventador Successor is Released, Are we Going to See a New Low in Flagship Lambo Prices?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Aventador is still a pretty new car, and it seems as though it will soon outsell the Murcielago-(I believe someone on here quoted 3600 produced already and Wikipedia says around 4000 'Murci's made). Considering the Aventador has only been around for a few years and Murci's sold for around 8 years? Since we all know where '1st-gen Murcielago prices are headed, does anyone think that eventually Aventadors will go even lower in price in the future, considering the lack of exclusivity?

My fiancée claims that I snore at nights but I deny those accusations!

"does anyone think that eventually Aventadors will go even lower in price in the future"... If they depreciate and they will.

Sorry, specifically, than the current base point of lower priced Murci's.

Flagship prices, I would expect to rise.

Sure depreciation will have it's way in the market, but a new V12 car will probably be higher priced to keep pace with impending inflation and devaluation of the USD.

Lamborghini thinks itself pretty special, and wants to have that "exclusive" expensive car - Venenos not included - but something "elite", and if they keep that process, they'll be so elite no one will buy them, and price themselves right out of the market.

Just look at the cost of OEM accessories and additional features as a possible indicator.

Lack of exclusivity? 4,000 to 10,000 cars world wide isn't a big number by any stretch of the imagination.

Lamborghinis are and will always be exclusive, you get an overload of Lambo info and interaction here but I can't remember when it was last time I've seen one in the wild.

With the way things are going, plug in hybrids, turbo engines, etc. the early models, more analog cars, might just become more sought after, combine that with the fact that the Aventador is really in a class of its own I don't expect it to drop below a comparable Murci at the same vintage, condition, etc.

We have seen some sporadic 2012 coupes for sale in the low $300Ks ($329, $320, etc) couple of times already in the past year, I can foresee some 2012 coupes will go sell for in the high $200K ($289, $295) range when the new V12 Flagship releases in 2017-2018. Just like the 2005 Murcis now, we can get one around $170k.

Since Av Roadsters are much fewer in production (500-600 units), I'm hoping their value will stay in the mid-high $400Ks even with the new V12 released.

Go back to the drawing board, key words such as "might" "don't expect" really nullify your juvenile statement, anyway I see you are enjoying being a douche and I wouldn't want to take any of your pleasures away, it also seems to make you fell like a bigger man so go for it.

I will just ignore you from now on, as suggested by many here who can see what you are trying to do, sad really!

While this is all true, in 1970 there were 3.7 Billion people, most of the world didn't have functioning roads, and the major car markets were the US and Europe. In 2015 everyone is buying cars, and the population is 7.5 billion. We have more cars, we have more people, and relatively speaking exclusivity has stayed the same. It just seems like exclusivity no longer exists because half the people buying these cars are insecure and have entire instagram accounts full of shitty pictures dedicated to their car, lol.

Also, the Mustang was created to be a car of the people.

I guess people are insecure about themselves when they have pictures all over their house of their family members too, huh, by your definition?

Maybe some of us view our cars as family members and we're proud of our 'pride and joy'

Just because you're behind times and find social media worthless, no need to pass on judgement on others. I'm enjoy posting to my IG with all my "shitty pictures", I must be insecure! Yup! :thefinger:

Don't tell that to @lamborghiniks, @vbucking, or @doctam3 because those three must be really insecure!! :eusa_wall:

Damn our population more than doubled since the 70's

Very interesting perspective, thank you for the figures, I love statistics!

Also keep in mind that in this day and age there are a lot more people that can afford these cars. The population may have doubled but the number of people who can buy these cars has increased tenfold if not more.

Lol I hit a nerve? I'm not behind the times with social media. Kevin Systrom is one of my good friends (I have known him for at least a decade) and I was using IG way before it was cool, literally. And out of those four, the only one I would consider truly insecure is Kris. You, V, and Docta, are not in that category. And your pics aren't shitty, I like yours.

LP640s prices have held pretty well, I don't see Avenatdor prices going down too much unless its a story car or one with massive miles. The depreciation on them has been very slow, and I think that will continue for a while. There are just too many new cars for sale in the 300k range, and the Aventador is more rare and looks better. It becomes a decision of buying a new 300k car or a used Aventador. Not everyone will go with a used Aventador of course, but enough will. Its really in a class of its own, top dog in the super car market, with nothing above it other than the hypercars.

I love the Aventador, mainly I love its looks and that big V12 monster.

However, I fear they really have to up the power on the V12 and/or get the fat elephant to lose a lot of weight. How else can they continue to try and place it above the Huracan/488/675McL segment; when those last two will outgun the big V12.

Haha he obviously didn't mean you or me, our pictures are the best!

While we do have more people and more people buying cars, they are still very exclusive. The problem is because of the internet, everyone sees these very rare and exclusive cars constantly. Internet car porn (including IG) has made it seem like these things are a dime a dozen. That is just not true in real life. IG has contributed to this, but the fact remains that people still go bonkers over exotics in the real world.
