This was our first time at a Shift Sector roll race ½ mile event with our full team support there. I have to say I'm very impressed with this event. From how very organized its ran to how great the staff was. These guys are great at what they do. The event venue was very nice as well. Even though the runway is asphalt both Gallardo and the GTR 1/2 mile records were broken. GTR record at 227 and the overall record with the Gallardo at 234.8

Thanks to all the customers that came out. The Underground Racing X Versions ran very fast and made the top three speed runs of the event. Gidi with the new World Record at 234.8 mph in the standing 1/2 mile and Richard with two passes at 232 mph. Donnie’s silver Gallardo went 227 with KC driving (with traction issues). Ross with his LP570 Stage 3 with Race heads went 208 mph. Also, thanks to Speed Society for all their help and hospitality.

In the AWD Roll Race, the Underground Racing Gallardos finished 1st-3rd. Gidi also won that event with Ross finishing in 2nd place in his LP570.

Underground Racing has kept the overall 1/2 mile record since May of 2013 at 217.1, 224.4, 233.8 and 234.8 (Each record was only broken by an Underground Racing Gallardo). Underground Racing has held the Gallardo only 1/2 mile record since October 2009.

Thanks to all the Underground Racing crew and especially John Reed for coming even though he is recovering from an accident and in a wheel chair. As always thanks to Proline Race Engines, Precision Turbo, Injector Dynamics for the last second rush on their new 1700cc injectors and to all of our other vendors who work so hard to help us make this happen.

Huge congratulations to both UGR and Gidi!!! 235mph is absolutely smoking.

Was that 152mph at the 1/4 mile? If so that is SMOKING on the back end.

Do think there's a high 230 in there somewhere.

For sure. Just imagine concrete instead of asphalt. That's worth a few mph right there. Now throw in some cooler weather. Either way 230+ is insane. I remeber Cody's 217..... Now we are 20 mph faster in a short time. Crazy.

Just watched the video again on a good screen. Damn Gidi. You got massive balls.

Tom Brady couldn't even deflate your balls.

You´re right Dustin, its crazy how fast things have gotten in only 1-2 years. I would not at all be surprised if we have some cars go 240+ in the next years.

The R888R will be available in 2016 in the Gallardo sizes, maybe it offers 5-10% better traction. And like you have said, colder air, concrete surface. Lots of room for improvement. And last but not least BIGGER TURBOS....I´m sure there are enough customers wanting to try some 82s as the next step.

The X versions have around 2100WHP. Kevin said the max they can get out of the 76s is 2200WHP.
