I agree, but the country isn't a business. Just like most of the things Bernie said would/could have never been done, neither will Trump be able to get anything done. Realistically, to get things done in politics, you need the connections/relationship. He has none, everyone hates him, he will fail. Hillary has a chance to get things passed, good or bad.

He's toast. He isn't going to be the next president.

From a business standpoint, yes, Trump FTW.

Everything should be run as a business, it's the essence of a capitalist system, a socialist program is always financed by a capitalist but the capitalist is always the asshole, typical, people fail to see that and they always pay for it, I have no skin in this game, I don't live in the States and it doesn't affect me but looking from outside in I am saddened by the circus and the current state of affairs in US politics. To a certain extent what happens there impacts the rest of the world but not drastically, I do still care about that fact.

As far as his policies, wanting to bring manufacturing back to your country it's the one which stands out for me, it would do an almost unquantifiable amount of good to your economy.

As I said the guy behaves like an idiot but the ideas that he's got aren't bad now if he only would know how to behave like a career politician, behavior which disgusts me and I understand why he doesn't do it but if he did majority would be on his side, all I can say is have fun with Clinton for the next 4 years, let's see where your economy will be in 2020.

As I stated before, tell us point by point with facts how Trumps plans are terrible and how Clinton's plans are better in direct comparison. The US government is the world's largest non-profit organization (it's a fact, look it up) so like it or not, it is a business. The problem I have with career bureaucrats is these are people with no real-world experience running a business like a 10 year old with access to their parent's credit card account...spending money they don't have and things they don't need and either doing to the tax payers for more or getting more money made by the Federal Reserve. Fortis is spot on especially since he is on the outside...we need a non-bureaucrat to run things for a bit.

Everything being said about him now is the same rhetoric they said about Reagan back in the early 80's...Personally I think Trump is going to win just by looking at all the factors at play...the sad part is the media machine (who is dumping tons of money into the Clinton campaign) is trying to play it like he's a super villain while glossing over everything that Clinton has done and stands for.

I'll even make it easy for people to do their homework;

Clinton Campaign Stances

Trump Campaign Stances

Now for those that actually want to debate...here's the real meat and potatoes of what this race is about...forget all the other dog and pony show crap. Now tell me specifically why you think Clint's platform is a better platform for this country over Trumps and we can have an actual debate.

I'm still waiting...

Rawr's Statement bolded and in italics since apparently I can't edit properly.

So what? More people who decided to get paid are coming out to grab some money while whoring themselves out? "He kissed me on a mouth when he met me!" Holy shit, call the pope!

The loser here is the American Class and respect. This is a show, it's a more entertaining show this year with less respect to everyone involved. I'd shitcan everyone who showed up for the debate, why was anyone there, why were any of those questions asked? Are you telling me the NATION, all the bright people living in the US, couldn't come up with some difficult things to ask the future rulers of the country?

Thank God America is wealthy, so none of this really matters, everyone will still be able to make money for now...

I can only address your 1st paragraph. Paragraphs 2 and 3 are incoherent.

If a man kissed my wife on the lips, I'd knock him out.

Every woman that has elected to bring these accusations as far as I can tell against Trump are way beyond the statue of limitations to extract any financial gain.

Can you point to evidence of a secret payroll? I'm assuming Wikileaks (nee Russia) would have dumped those emails this week....

Also I don't think many women use sexual assault charges to gain fame as Trump has claimed today. All they are actually doing is exposing themselves to risk by being sued by Trump for libel, which based on his previous behauvior is a real possibility.

Trump again advances a negative news cycle another day by attacking.

It's interesting though that he's in the public eye for as many years as he has been and is not accused of being a racist or sexually assaulting women for in all that time and it's only the final weeks before A presidential election that the left pushes these things. Remember the propaganda they pushed against Romney too?

The statute of limitations may be up but that doesn't mean that people don't want attention or future financial gain from books etc. Lewinski made a career out of the attention she gained after the Clinton scandal

Lewinsky wasn't sexually harassed.

Bill Cosby as was Rolf Harris and Jimmy Saville (look those up) were "in the public eye for as many years" and now have been charged/convicted for sexual assault.

Trump is a billionaire and a vexatious litigant with unlimited resources and a well documented track record of scored earth attacks against opponents. Exhibit A - Republican primaries. From what I have read, his denials of sexual assault at the last debate have motivated these women to finally come forward.

:iamwithstupid: Or the fact that Bill Clinton was actually accused and put on trial for all of those things during his presidency and where was Hilary during all of it...in the garden twiddling her thumbs? All of that is a diversion tactic...in the grand scheme it doesn't matter, the campaign platforms are what's at play. So let's debate that.

Newt Gingrich (speaker of the house at the time) and at least one other GOP senior member who led that impeachment charge were also having affairs at that time....and fcuking hypocrites.

To your point, campaign platforms this cycle are what's in play, respectfully you're wrong - it's all personality and rhetoric on both sides. I wish it was a debate about the issues, I think the country would be less divided.

Right...as mentioned before I have no personal connection to either candidate...Do I think Trump is a saint? Hell no. But again...all the anti-Trump sentiment I have heard has been attacking him as a person and not his campaign platform and ideas...

I could sit here and personally attack Hilary all day and that wouldn't get us anywhere...

So, if you hate Trump or Clinton as a person fine that is your opinion and you are entitled to it...but if we're debating what's best for the good of the country please tell me how Clinton's platform will work for the US.

So far I have not heard 1 thing about how Clinton's platform is better or will work for this country or how it compares directly to Trump's platform. So tell me...I am still waiting for this

...why is Clinton's platform better for America? How are her policy ideas going to have a positive impact on this country?

All I have heard is Trump is a douche bag...this tells me nothing. Tell me specifically which ideas won't work and why and tell me how Clinton's ideas will work better. The "I think he's a turd" mantra is dangerous because you haven't offered any solutions. All this talk is mute until anyone can answer the question posed above. Until then, we don't have an actual discussion or debate, we just have people name calling and shouting which is what the folks on the hill want us to do.

I don't think Kinnsella is saying he thinks Clinton would make a good president or is supporting her platform. Only pointing out some realities of the accusations and the rhetoric. And I agree, the actual issues have very little to do with this election. It's all about entertainment and personal attacks

I am not going to spend the time to go line item thru Clinton's policy. But overall what you are going to get is four more years of the last eight. An economy slowly recovering from the worst financial crisis (though much faster) since the Great Depression. Regardless of what Roosevelt did the US economy was in a malaise until WW2. Continued job growth, slowly rising incomes and a muddled foreign policy like every other American President I can remember. I.E. not great.

As for Trump, I couldn't even start to predict what the next four years would bring us.

Oh I get that, and I have a lot of respect for where Kinnsella is coming from...But I hold LP to a higher standard than the rest of the country (and also, the world) so I am hoping someone here can make a valid case for Clinton so we can actually have a solid debate. Most folks are don't know enough to make an informed decision, they just go with what they hear on TV. But I know on LP we have people that are versed in the issues and have actual insight. So let's be better than average masses and have a credible debate...while the rest of the country is caught up in the shitshow, let's actually do the thing that makes this country great: exchange free ideas in a respectful and articulated way.

Looks like 2 more women are stepping forward with additional allegations of sexual assault against Trump.

Who actually believes any of these stories? One lady said he was inappropriate during an interview of him and his wife. Then wrote a nice story about them. Why leave this until a month before the election? Trump was a big name back then too, and it would have been a great story to ruin him then.

Rush said today a month before the election something always comes out about the Republican candidate. ALWAYS. As far back as I cared about elections I remember this too(2004). Never thought of it before. But Hillary has issue upon issue and they never care.

As above with Gun control.. I would rather vote for a candidate that says he will seat conservative justices than a candidate who is guaranteed she will bring in far left justices.

This is my biggest reason to vote for Trump. I dont want Hillary to have the ability to appoint liberal Justices. They should just look at the Constitution and nothing else, but that never happens. I also think courts should have mostly equal on each side. No matter who nominates them. But that doesnt happen. A 6-3 liberal or conservative leaning court isnt good either.

I have read several reports where Trump refused to have himself self vetted (all Presidential candidates insist for their VP's including Pence) for an October surprise.

W didn't get a DUI in the 70's or do blow (2000 election)?? He could have disclosed it in his primary so it wasn't used against him in an October surprise.

Your argument for a balanced supreme court is specious. Trump's list only had conservative judges on it and the conventional wisdom is that this cycle 2 maybe 3 judges will be appointed that would give you a 6-3 court. Clinton will do exactly the same and stated such in the last debate and will stack the court as well.

I do for the aforementioned reasons in a previous post. And this....

"Defaming" a billionaire who has a hair trigger for suing and has extracted millions isn't for the faint of heart when you are beyond the statue of limitations to sue for damages for said injury and therefore have nothing financially to gain.

Would you have any interest in being dragged into a shit storm on a national level? Your life dissected. There is no upside for these women.

Not wanting to get involved in the debate, but I think some of you guys aren't looking at this election from all the angles. So here's my take as an outsider:

Clinton: An exponent of the of the last 8 years status quo, which generated a tremendous shift in American policy. From my point of view said shift has precipitated the following:

- Russia is more assertive than ever.

- China is more assertive than ever.

- The Middle East is in shambles.

- We now have a terrorist state on the world map.

- American policy in the ME has displaced close to 10 million people in Syria and Iraq, 1.5 million of them made their way to Europe. This has caused destabilization, political and social strife. It was an influencing factor in Brexit, the rise far right parties around Europe, terrorism etc.

- By reducing its global footprint, America can no longer be relied upon to maintain the post WW2 order. If its unwilling or incapable to, the influence for security deal should be taken a look at.

Some good things came out of it too. It has forced Europe and Japan to take more responsibility on security and increase military budgets, however the only serious armies are France and the UK. I'm sure the Germans could pick up the slack but do we really want them to? It has also forced European countries to be more assertive themselves.

From my point of view, anything is preferable to the above, hence I'd welcome a change in American policy. Hillary is most definitely not going to bring it about and the status quo will be alive and well for another 4 years at least, which is a disaster imo. ANY alternative to the status quo is preferable.

Now the alternative is Trump. He is opposed to the status quo and that's a good thing, but there isn't much else going on for him other than that. I'll leave aside all the crap the media says about him, just you know watching him for the first time, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and consider him as having the best possible intentions, I'd still have a hard time believing he'd be able to deliver on his best intentions. Why? For some reason I can't take him seriously. The man is a buffoon at times, he contradicts himself, he seems volatile and shallow. He also seems to lack knowledge of how world politics work, and he also doesn't seem to be the kind of person that listens to people who know this stuff. He is going to make one gaffe after another. If his propositions would have come from anyone else, I wouldn't doubt them at all. It's really hard to have confidence in someone so volatile. There's more to being a politician/president than just programs and policies. You need to be an exceptional individual to take on such a task as the presidency of a country. Neither Trump nor Hillary are such people.

Either way whoever wins will be disappointing each in their own way. I really can't believe Hillary and Trump are the best American society can muster, which reinforces my belief that America can no longer be relied upon. Sad.

Build a wall: pointless rubbish that is a pipedream. Not to mention having mexico pay for it. Immigration from mexico is a net negative.

Muslim refugees: more dogwhistle nonsense. They are already being vetted, not to mention most of the terror incidents we have had recently have been at the hands of people born here.

Repealing Obama care is suicide. The system needs tweaking, but to shitcan it is a joke.

Building a wall might not be a pipedream if there was enough support for it from the American people. It would depend. The idea of having Mexico pay for it I think is a pipedream. And I disagree that repeal Obamacare would be any suicide. It is unpopular as it is and has numerous big problems. What would be needed is a way to explain the specific problems to the American people, not pull the rug out from under those who are benefiting from it, and replace it with something else. But the whole program itself needs to go.

Second amendment rights: more pandering to his base. Does he even own a gun? Id be surprised if he gives a shit one way or the other.

The tax code? Yes, the wealthy will definitely benefit. No arguments there.

Oh come now, that is a standard liberal argument, that conservative tax policy "benefits the wealthy."

I find myself both disagreeing and agreeing with points from the anti-Trump and pro-Trump people.

I am not going to spend the time to go line item thru Clinton's policy. But overall what you are going to get is four more years of the last eight. Continued job growth, slowly rising incomes and a muddled foreign policy like every other American President I can remember. I.E. not great.

The economy stayed in a malaise under Roosevelt because the Federal Reserve cut the money supply in response to the 1929 crash which was one of the worst things one could do in response to such an event, and then Roosevelt's policies of price and wage controls and central planning hamstrung the situation. The economy has only recovered in spite of Obama's policies, as he continually seeks more regulation. The fracking for oil has led to a huge boom in oil production, making the U.S. into one of the world's top oil producers, and lowering the global price of crude and thus the price of gasoline, which has acted as a tax cut for the economy and allowed the American economy to recover.

That whole concept of domestic drilling was mocked by Obama and the Democrats and he has only worked to undermine it.

As for Trump, I couldn't even start to predict what the next four years would bring us.

Trump could be very good foreign policy-wise in the sense that none of the tyrannical nations would mess with him. I do not think China, Russia, or Iran would try to cross him. My main concern is his constant Tweeting and seeming authoritarian impulses on things. Is he going to throw a fit if Congress won't do what he wants? Is he going to get into Tweeting wars with members of the media while he should be governing?

In terms of economic policy, it will depend on what kind of economic team he has I suppose. I do hope he is not for dismantling NATO though the way he has talked about.
