Still the best looking supercar ever made in my opinion...looks amazing from every angle...

Compare it to other cars from the era and it is more amazing still..!

i saw for the first time a Countach 400 S in 1980, a copper one with wing: i never forgot the shock i had seeing that copper monster and hearing its V12 roaring music coming out from that open exhaust.

I waited "just" 29 years to buy one, : now i finally have a wonderful 1984 devil in black and red colour as i dreamed in my youth and i'm very proud of it, even if it's just an old scrap that goes to the mechanic shop every month and eats money more than a couple of lituanian girls...

This a precious hand made car, full of defects and very old, but still amazing and outrageous: a masterpiece, no more words.

Thanks Allan

ciao

How many copper countachs were there? And didnt you buy your Black Countach from NSXer who owns a copper colored Countach that was the pace car for an F1 race back in the 80s? It would be a helluva story and circle if the car that turned you onto lambos was now owned by the guy that you bought your very first one from....

World is very small! But there were a lot of copper 400 S

Yes, my car is the former NSXer 5000 S but with a 100+ k $ restore. It's an euro car sold to Rome Lamborghini dealer: this is written on Official Lamborghini tech spec i have. I do not know much of the USA life of that car, just that the first owner was a woman, Donna Liebrich, who lived in Miami. Now the car is back to home and does not have anymore the side lights and reflectors that the car had when was in the USA but had not when leaved the factory

I do not know anything about Copper NSXer 400S: it think it is not that i saw in late 1980 (november). That was owned by Azzolini Aster who lived in Novi, Modena. The car had the rear wing and i do not think the car had the Bravo wheels, so it should be a 400 S2 and not an S1 (?) like NSXer still have.

i think there are some 4-5 LP400S Series 2 in copper (i should check my files)

one only S1 originally ordered and painted copper and repainted red at factory before being sold to first customer

so no copper S1 at the moment

i am not sure if there are copper S3 cars...i think one or two

still a rare color

Are there any Birthday parties planned? Has anyone heard of the Countach being honored at any time this year?

Last year Evans had a Countach reunion at his Wendys Foundation event and the turn out was good but it would be nice if there was something this year.

The most EXOTIC car ever made....through out its entire production run it was always in one or more of the categories that defines the pinnacle of being an exotic car. It was either the fastest, or the rarest or the most expensive car offered at any one time. Overshadowing that was its popularity and ability to draw a crowd and stir emotions.

I am trying to put a Countach Reunion together here in the Northeast during a Lamborghini show at the Concorso Ferrari and Friends.

This is a huge event and this year it was open to all Italians. Est 3000-6000 people.

Looks like it is already finished http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=54625

As I said in that thread, I didn't realise the Countach prototype survived a crash test. Where has it been for the last 40 years?

i'm talking about this car, the first production prototype, the very first Countach LP400 (and not the 1971 LP500 yellow prototype, destroyed in a crash test)

Right. Looking back at photos of the 1971 car, the car at the exhibition is just a production Countach with the slats added back to the shoulder vents. It's a pity as the '71 car was just prefect. Wonder if you that body could be placed on a easrly production car

Hello Alberto,

I’m the new owner of your beautiful 5000s. I just want to thank you for your beautiful restoration. Car is now in Paris, carefully handle by Lamborghini car specialist (an Italian ;-))

Make free to come see it, if you pass in Paris.

Regards, Aymeric

Hello Emilio,

Nice to meet you and i’m very happy to read from somebody who knows the car. Pictures you have seen from Father & son are from the car with my father. The car was à the star of that rally as you can guess.

It’s very great news if you have pictures of the car before restoration or any documents about it. I have a big file of history than Alberto made it, and i’m fulling as much as I can. I send mail to the first owner Donna Liebrich and I hope she will answer. I let you my email if you want to send me pictures you have, which I thank you very much in advance : [email protected]

I try to attached some pictures here to start.

Best regards

Aymeric

Apoujol, 2.5 years on this forum and didn't post until now? :icon_mrgreen: Anyway, a belated welcome to the forum.

Sincere congratulations on the Countach. Based on the posts from Alberto, your car is likely one of the best, if not THE best, restored Countach on the planet. Everything is period-correct and OEM. And it's great to know that the car is staying within the "family" of LP members. Congrats again! :icon_thumleft:
