reubenk Report post Posted October 16, 2016 just start my car and start stop system fault appear with engine check light , anyone had problem like this before? I had that several times - would come and go (including the CEL). in several cases it coincided with a "catalyst over temperature" warning (+ 2k rev limiter) that would also come and go (even when cold). ended up being faulty sensors. there is now a campaign out to replace them and I havent had any issues since. fwiw mines an early 2013 model. DoctaM3 Report post Posted October 20, 2016 I just started getting this. As Reubenk said, its a faulty sensor and Lambo has a campaign to change the sensors.
lchew75 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 I just started getting this. As Reubenk said, its a faulty sensor and Lambo has a campaign to change the sensors. I just did the campaign for the catalyst sensor replacing the sensor and catalyst but the start stop and CEL lights came back on 20 minutes after leaving the dealer. I have a 2016 coupe with a Kreissieg exhaust w/ Xpipes. Did anyone have their lights come back on after the campaign?

raylambo Report post Posted February 12, 2017 mine has not returned. All my aventadors have needed to have the start button usually pushed TWICE to start which is a design problem again that the factory should fix . Had all the errors above and took a lot of parts changing and I always have a battery charger connected ! Unfortunately there has not been a proper solution so far but it is quite annoying for a 'supercar'. I would complain to the factory because I assure u that u r not the only customer with this problem and maybe just maybe they will find a proper fix . But I wouldn't hold my breath lol
jheyden Report post Posted August 14, 2018 I have a early 2013 Roadster and I just started getting this start stop system fault with CEL. Do not see any other faults related to catalyst. Does the campaign fix just the start stop fault(without the other catalyst fault?)
TeamSalamone Report post Posted October 27, 2018 actually I'm on on my 4th aventador and this is a common problem. this forum is good for these things. sometimes what ca look like a real problem is easier to … laugh off when it happens to others and there are or have been fixes. RDW Report post Posted December 26, 2018 Count me in this number, out on Christmas eve for a short run and low and behold the CEL light accompanied by a "StartStop Fault system not ready" Did a few startup's and shutdown to see if it would go away, but to no avail. Looks like a run to the dealership in the New Year. Should I be concerned driving it?
LamboCharlotte Report post Posted January 3, 2019 Start/stop warning will accompany any stored emissions fault (check engine light). Assuming you're not experiencing any drive ability issues i.e. lack of power, running rough, stalling, etc. it's ok. For formalities' sake, I will always advise customers to use their best judgement. If you feel something is off/unsafe, have it towed. Typically the car will make it evident pretty quickly if it's performance related or note. Roadside assistance will cover a transport to your closest dealer assuming the car is under factory/CPO warranty. I believe it's up to 150 or 170 miles one way if my memory serves me correct? Thanx, The car was still drivable but my dealer here in Vancouver was great, had the car shipped (covered truck) into the dealer. It was still under warranty! Once they did the diagnosis I had to wait for a week due to parts from Italy, car was shipped home yesterday. Nice to see her back in the barn.... I'm going thru the same thing just bought a 14 Aventador with 9k miles and after 150 miles my CEL went on and it says start stop fault system not ready upon ignition. Vehicle is running fine and is due for emissions but now I need to diagnose the issue before I can take it for emissions . Sounds like it could be an 02 sensor?? Niko's Car Report post Posted October 16, 2020 Have had the same thing going on, 9000 miles on 13 Aventador, CEL came on. Had to change the ECUs and thermocouples.. usd 3K. I have another problem, not sure if its related to this, but after i go driving, and the car is warm, the car refuses to start again. Typical he needs 15-20 minutes to "cool down", then he start up again. No problem when driving, no alarms, no high temperatures... Any thoughts? My workshop (not Lambo dealership) suggested supercapacitors or starter, but seems strange they are failing only when hot?? moogle Report post Posted March 22, 2021 had the same thing happen to me. Cel with start/stop fault. It went away after I shutdown and restarted the car. However, now the start/stop system seems to never go off and cylinder deactivation doesn’t turn on anymore in strada mode either. There’s no faults or cel. Anyone seen this or know what’s going on? akbar adeli Report post Posted June 9, 2021 Hi mate, Is your car’s stop-start system on the blink at the moment? If it isn’t working as you think it should, there might be a very good reason for it. Stop-start is designed to save you fuel and cut a car’s exhaust emissions by reducing the amount of time your engine sits idling without going anywhere. And it’s on nine out of every 10 new cars sold. But if it stops stopping, is it a problem? And should you take your car to the garage? It might be due to the cold weather The weather’s been so chilly lately, I’ve struggled to get out of bed in the morning. And I’m not the only one the cold’s affected. Stop-start won’t intervene when the engine is cold. This is because the car’s computer is sufficiently savvy to know that an engine is at its most efficient when it’s fully warm. Therefore the clever computer keeps the engine running until it’s at an optimal temperature. You’ll know the stop-start has stopped working because an A in a circle with a line through it will appear on the dash.
