capt_chaos Report post Posted January 29, 2015 McLaren linking up with Honda (and the new car looks good) but will it out muscle the Merc engines? Predictions

Destructo Report post Posted January 29, 2015 McLaren and Honda are trying to relive the glory days. Won't be as special, but they'll make a season of it. Mercedes will continue to be a top contender. If Ferrari can built the right car, Vettel and Kimi will be a force. However, I think Kimi's no-nonsense ethic and Vettel's "I'm the only special one" attitude will come to a head this season in a spectacular fashion. I look forward to seeing how it goes. I'm just hoping Bernie wanders out onto the track and some point and gets railed by one of the cars.
Hollywood996 Report post Posted January 29, 2015 I think Mercedes will continue to dominate, with Williams a distant 2nd followed by the Cans. No real reason to be excited about Ferrari, same can be said for STR and Force India. Lotus should see an improvement, as for McLaren... neither driver seems very enthusiastic about the up coming season. at least the noses look better! rmtn Report post Posted January 29, 2015 I really really hope that Nico wins, he would of had but got punished after last years mid season crash with hamilton. No, actually, I really want that Kimi wins this year and Bottas the year after that! I have no expectations on car performances, we'll se when we see. AudiBull Report post Posted January 30, 2015 I'm guessing that most engine suppliers will have adapted and integrated the split turbo design that helped Mercedes stay so far ahead last year. I'm actually rooting for the new Honda/McLaren team. Ferrari has little chance unless they have made great strides with the new car. Kimi and Vettel were completely outclassed by their teammates last year and I lost faith in both. Despite some great racing last year I found myself not watching practice, fast forwarding through DVR'd qualifying, and I made little attempt to watch the races live. I even fast forwarded through chunks of boring races. It's just not the same...

capt_chaos Report post Posted February 22, 2015 Alonso airlifted to hospital after a crash in testing. Conscience and ok. The thing is Mclaren have now got hardly any laps under their belt as the engine keeps on breaking. Things not looking good. And the power plant issue, it's not good. And Button comes out saying McLaren won't win the first race. I mean they are only 43% through their test schedule for Barcelona, while others are raking up the laps and race simulations. It'll be an interesting season opener in Melbourne. capt_chaos Report post Posted February 22, 2015 They will not finish their first race, they will not get out of Q3 at this rate and no way is this a sand bagging trick. How do they not stress test these engines on benches prior to track testing? It is mind boggling that they are having so many simple failings. I know it is called testing for a reason but really these are issues that the other teams did not have last year when they introduced these new engine rules. Utter shambles from Honda. As you say, it is not looking good at all in the early going for Mclaren and Honda. At this rate, Mclaren will be lucky to get a podium finish this year

decent Report post Posted March 4, 2015 Pretty sure he is still alive so no. Why does electrocution equal death? If Honda's KERS malfunctioned...it could have shocked him. There are a few rumors going around...just curios to get others perspectives.
capt_chaos Report post Posted March 4, 2015 Do you think he was electrocuted? There is not much evidence to support the theory he was. Thing is there is always a story, always rumors buzzing about and especially at pre season where someone is squeezing for a bit of juice. My logic is that Alonso has a very vocal manager. He would say, there would be no issue saying if it was the case. Honda and McLaren would say because it is testing and they would have to take steps to identify and resolve the issue and they would have to be open about it. I think at this stage it looks like Spanish sensationalist press rocking up and shit baiting as they do. Playing rugby for years I know what concussion is like, I have seen what it can do. I understand the risks in place and why Alonso is not running. You don't have to have physical contact to get it and as humans we are still understanding the brain and how to look after it. Things NOT looking good for Alonso. http://metro.co.uk/2015/03/06/fernando-alo...7/?ito=facebook Woke up thinking it was 1995 and still racing karts. Then thought he was still racing for Ferrari eventually as well. His memory is gradually coming back, but that's not a good sign for his future.
