VBUGKING Report post Posted February 25, 2013 Vboxed my 2012 Renntech ML63 (twin turbo V8 engine) again today after messing around with it last week on some 0-60mph runs. Car is 100% stock except for Renntech ECU upgrade. I found a good stretch of road that is very flat and did a 0-130mph run. I then did a dedicated 60-130mph run. Then closer to home, I did a couple other 0-60mph runs. Temp was 55 degrees and sunny, had a half a tank of gas (93 octane) and just me (200lbs) in the car. Car was in sport plus suspension mode, sport transmission mode, and traction control was off. The A/C was off and I brake boosted on launch. The results of the 0-130mph run, 60-130mph run, and quarter mile are below: 0 - 10 - 0.3 seconds 0 - 20 - 0.89 0 - 30 - 1.41 0 - 40 - 2.04 0 - 50 - 2.7 0 - 60 - 3.75 0 - 70 - 4.66 0 - 80 - 5.79 0 - 90 - 7.06 0 - 100 - 8.44 0 - 110 - 10.1 0 - 120 - 12.29 0 - 130 - 14.53 60ft - 1.89 @ 37.3 mph 330ft - 5.09 @ 74.2 mph 1/8 mile - 7.75 @ 95.04 mph 1/4 mile - 11.92 @ 118.21 mph The 60-130mph run was 10.24 seconds. My 700hp (on race gas) Cayenne did it in 10.72 seconds, and my 07 stock ML63 (naturally aspirated V8, 503hp) did it in 14.39 seconds. This may not seem impressive considering all the fast 60-130mph times we hear about on here, but its pretty close to what a stock 2009 GTR would run. The drag on an SUV at high speeds really slows it down, and with a curb weight of about 5300 lbs, I am impressed. I have done 6 separate 0-60mph runs and 3 times it said 3.7 on the Vbox and 3 times it said 3.8 seconds. Best time I was able to get was 3.67 seconds. Car is very easy to launch and is very consistent. I doubt there are many SUVs (if any) that can beat these times with just an ECU upgrade and on pump gas. I let my friend launch it with me in the passenger seat, and it launches very hard and acceleration stays pretty hard until about 100mph and then drag starts to slow it down.
