What a dick - that's a piece of automotive history. I recommend you try selling it in Europe, the dollar is so low against the GBP and Euro a lot of cars are leaving the US for Europe as they are effectively half-price for the European buyers. Check out this site - http://www.esprit4sale.co.uk/Sale/UsedCarCentre.html and I'll let a few folks over there know about it.

So true - I've had my eye on one for a while, but figure these will be $70K cars in 12 months. Why they put those wheels on is beyond me ..... -

Its been on eBay for months ... -
Most parts are readily available, infact cars from the 90's onward had a lot of GM parts which are all cross-referenced on various sites. Realistically, the 02' are high $40K to low $50K cars - maybe he's asking too much?

No matter what model you get, you'll love it, the Esprit has soul man, it aint no Honda! Regarding the comment on $$$ for repairs - If you're handy with a wrench the 4 cylinder cars are very easy to work on, and in the past two and a half years, I've spent $1640 on my S4s including $700 to change the cam belt, now compare this to the $1,500 I just spent tonight replacing the ECU in my Range Rover and you get the picture. - Good luck and enjoy it  -

These cars are a great bang for the buck, but if you can swing it, go for the S4s (although they're getting more expensive than the early V8's and hard to find). Check out www.espritfactfile.com and www.lotusespritworld for a gobs of Esprit data!
