  1. Trying to be optimistic, but being prepped for the worse. Vet says give it 7 to 8 days.
  2. Cool but I like having more space. Agree with the towing a 4X4 for off road adventures. Most of the newer camp grounds have near hotel amenities. Id go with one of these, an 03 to 06: http://www.marathoncoach.com/new-preowned-...?sortby=default tow a jeep or F150. Camp in a nice campground and explore in the tow vehicle.
  3. It is easier to use a customs broker when you are shipping. Canada to the U.S is easy because there is no shipping involved. Even though customs is very easy, its just forms and paying duty. Its like applying for a passport in complexity.
  4. The good news is he's better then yesterday. But he was also recovering from sedatives and anesthetics, after doing the x-rays and lung biopsy. His last surgeries it took him two days of rest to shake off the effects. His condition has improved a little but not really improved. If that makes sense. His appetite is still very high. He is still going to the bathroom. He also wants attention. All good signs. I'm however not convinced the meds are working. He is just stable and at the same point as before the x-rays and biopsy.
  5. Its a pain in the ass. Several things are different doing it from Canada though. Especially when it comes to registering. The easy part is customs, basically two or three forms, very easy to fill out. Pay duty. The hard part is the registration with the DMV. Even former Canadian cars can be a pain and they have the same VINS as the U.S.
  6. Even have an example 1974 Jag E-type has hideous rubber blocks front and back. I looked at one, was freshly restored and for sale by a Jag specialist. I said why didn't you do European bumpers and he said American collectors frown on it. You also see it with the 308 and not going European bumpers. My biggest pet peeve, seen in both the Ferrari 512BB and the Porsche 930 81 to 85 is replacing the odometers for miles from kilometers. But for some reason most Americans see this as o.k.. They like "American" spec for the most part, unless it comes to hp. This is not to say collectors wont do it themselves. Its when they buy unaltered is always more value. They pay a premium but its for an original Euro spec car.
  7. Not all. But in general American collectors seem to like keeping it American spec. See it in other cars as well.
  8. I believe it can go both ways. Collectors, the main buyers of these now, like it all original, even if its ugly. I personally would convert, but would appreciate an original car more being offered at a dealer. Easier to tell if its clean and never been in an accident untouched.
  9. I do recommend going to dictatorships. Its an eye opening experience. Two directors of a company I'm involved in, are both ex-state department. One was stationed in Burma and we looked into doing some mining projects there when it opens up. He travels to Burma frequently, he lobbies for them and is trying to help them get sanctions lifted. My brother started going to Cuba as a tourist in the early 90's. Ended up getting a student visa and living there. He visits at least twice a year now. Our assessment, its like Mexico, without the visible poverty and crime.
  10. I will say in my experience dictatorships are fucked up. Just not as fucked up as the U.S government and media suggest they are.
  11. Just going by experience. The U.S. government and media are completely full of shit when it comes to Cuba. So I question anything they say about other dictatorships. Oh I also have first hand experience with Burma and know most of the info about them is also dissident bull shit.
  12. Nuts.... But I take it with a grain of salt, having knowledge of another supposedly fucked place under embargo and that's Cuba. Most of what you hear about Cuba is total bull shit. Knowing this I also tend not to believe everything I hear about North Korea. But I've been to Cuba and my younger brother lived there for a few years. So I have first hand knowledge about Cuba, never been to North Korea.
  13. And that's the problem with something free like Craigslist. Oh well, still see early 308's below $40k here. Only problem most are 1980-1 and only have 205hp. like this one that sold: http://wwwb.autotrader.ca/a/Ferrari/308/La...amp;orup=3_15_3
  14. The Countach and Diablo, neither has a bad angle. Both look fast standing still. They just have a powerful look to them.
  15. A couple kids in separate incidents in Canada died last year from being locked in a car. Result leave a kid or dog in a car here will likely result in the police being called.
  16. Saw this on Fox News this morning. Good for the guy to rescue the dog. The law needs to be changed. Here the law says we can break a window to save a dog. Hope the prosecutor and judge go easy on the guy.
  17. Attachments work for me. Found this pic on the net. Its my good friends car lot in the 70's. Note the Miura outside like a common used car!
  18. I have a good supply, thanks. They don't have the generic in Canada. Yes, it was pricey.
  19. Not a user of instagram or twitter. I really hate # this and @ that. O.k. I may not have the best grammar in the world. I just type and post, no proofreading. If I proofed and did it in word, I'm light years better. I save my excellent grammar for business emails. Besides a forum isn't as formal. But still the instagram and twitter grammar still drives me nuts. I believe social media and texting, has put our progress back 100 years!
  20. Sporanox. Its an infection carried by a wide selection of wild animals all of which I have in my backyard. Still a long shot, but better then nothing.
  21. Not sure yet. Forgot what they said. Headed out to pick them up in a few minutes.
  22. My list besides the Diablo would also have the Miura and Countach on it.
  23. I'm leaning to try treatment. It would bother me forever not trying even if its a slim chance.
  24. Lung biopsy came back inconclusive. 50% its an infection from mold spurs or 50% chance its cancer. Tough decision, can try meds for infection and hope he gets better. If its cancer in the lungs, they could fail in the next week or sooner, not a good way to go. Have until tomorrow to decide. Humane thing or shoot the dice and try treatment.
  25. Most of the deals disappear fast. This 328 would only be around $40k CDN after duties, taxes and shipping for me. Almost want to buy it as a flip.
