  1. fcuk! One thing i would like to clarify in the article where it states "he bought the bike the day before". Jonathan was a very experienced rider, as in, regularly doing track days, local racer kind of guy. RIP buddy Picture here is him winning a race at NOLA Motorsports Park ( taken from his FB page)

As a non-parent, I can only imagine how stressful this could be, but consider the point of view from a disinterested party. What is your end game here? Suppose you hear/read some conversation on a topic you don't approve of, but it's nothing catastrophic (aka not shooting heroin, planning a school shooting, etc). I don't know any way you address something you've become aware of, that doesn't spill the fact that you've been snooping, and literally crush the relationship with your son in the process. And you get one shot at that. From that day forward he will make a government spy look sloppy in tying up loose ends and hiding everything, no matter how insignificant from you. You really have two options here: 1: You trust the judgment of the kid you raised, accept they will do some dumb shit along the way and just try to keep collateral damage to a minimum. 2: Option one won't work. You have more serious issues at hand and need to make some real changes to correct the path they are on. Private school away from home? All you can do is educate him and somewhat minimize exposure, but ultimately you can't prevent someone from doing something they really want to do. At best it's a temporary stay, and then they will be running for the door as soon as they can.
  3. To clarify, I was talking about an idler pulley. Is it an idler or a fixed pulley (crank, etc)?
  4. Check the bearings on the pulley, it should spin freely enough you dont need an overly tight bolt. Something is binding inside the bearing, spinning the inner race and causing the bolt to loosen. Red loctite may help prolong the problem, but i suspect the next time it throws a belt the pulley will be seized completely. Im a little surprised it spins in the direction to loosen the bolt. Typical practice with anything spinning is normal operation would tighten the bolt, even if it meant using a left hand thread.
  5. Man I bet you can't wait, that car is going to be a beast on the street!
  6. If they changed nothing but those wheels frpm the SV it's a win. Damn thats a great looking car!
  7. Saw a video from Calvo that a stock GT2RS put 683hp / 580tq to the tires. That one could put up a good fight for the 720.
  8. Congrats man! Well done and what a great color. Put the top down and listen to that v10 sing.
  9. I get all of that and i'm anything but a muscle car hater, but consider the audience and realistic usage. Sensation of speed is largely based around acceleration (unless you're going open top small visceral car) and when you melt the tires at anything under 100mph you're not going forward. The novelty is awesome but it has to be a worthy tradeoff. I'm not dropping that kind of $$ on a demon when 50% of it's novelty is useless driving around town. From what I gather on the stock pcm with stock tires people are getting a high 10 @ 13x out of them, on a prepped surface. On shitty asphalt, good luck getting a sub 4.0 0-60 out of it. As I said, the only thing a demon is good at is legitimate drag racing, and I see very few people using them for that. Hopefully they can sort the chassis/tire combo and make it reasonably driveable, but "on the street" it's very likely to get kicked in the nuts by much slower cars. I'm not sure it would fare too well against a Focus RS in a stoplight race. And I sure as shit wouldn't go picking on an E63.
  10. That's a class specific bracket car, so power isn't everything. The car can be optioned with 4" wide front tires and a race gas pcm... no shit it's a one trick pony, that's what it was meant to be from day one. On the decent concrete with good tires i'd bet it can hang with the 720, but at your average stoplight it's far from the quickest thing around. It's a track car, and on a prepped strip it will put the wood to all of them, as it should. Most people here couldn't give half a fcuk about that, so this obviously isn't a car that will interest them. Dodge has been very upfront about what this car is, and isn't. Apply the appropriate expectations and it's exactly what they intended it to be.
  11. Caught a few episodes of Santa Clarita diet with my wife and it's shockingly good. Fair bit of gore and a bizarre premise (suburb mom turns zombie) but it's very well written with lots of solid one liners.
  12. You might consider picking up a bit at the current prices. March is historically bad and things should pick up soon.
  13. For LPDADDY BMW M1 Procar hillclimb
  14. Yeah if you want the fully functional ALA system I bet it's a shit load more. Have you guys seen a significant advantage with it in place?
  15. Pretty sure its the perf wing. My buddy looked into it and the wing was around $20k.

$11,500 It looks obscenely fun but damn thats a lot of coin.
  17. Billions & Silicon Valley were last night.
  18. Or as a credit toward the other maintenance costs.
  19. For $1,500 i agree with assman, be done with it and at least know you wont have to dig it up again in the future.
  20. I'll give ya $2k for it, and it will be the greatest Lemons racer ever! We can talk about a royalty on the youtube video when i let Charlie evicerate it with a gatling gun (after the lemons race) . Ed, can we make a vinwiki video when im done? PS, details on the "small corks". Freudian penis joke, or was it part of a "little person" dui bust? I thought corks were pretty standardized so this is intriguing.
  21. Salvage title... im unsure if it is from the crash or the intentional mods. Does this scream insurance payout (because he could never get close to recouping his "investment" ) to anyone else?
  22. IMO, find a good local shop and give them a chance to match the rei sale price. Support your local bike shop, im sure they are having a hard time surviving on repair labor alone and fighting the internet companies. Im also curious about the 27.5 (not +) vs 29. Being a smidge over 6'3" and 215lbs most guys are telling me it's the only way to go. Like i said previously, im not an XC guy, definitely more trail/enduro. Seems like the 27.5 would turn and accelerate better, but the trend is definitely going toward 29. I looked at the yeti (not in person yet), the 5LR looks sweet but that sliding stanchion lower pivot just seems odd. I know it's built by fox and must be super high quality, but i cant help but question long term durability. Ive broken lots of parts over the years so durability is paramount. Hell my DH bike has profile chromoly cranks lol. Im trying to find one locally to scope out, these things are easier to judge in person.
