  1. Yes you have to push more than once. But that is not acceptable at all. Not for what you pay. This is a common problem with Aventadors including SV: you have to press sometimes (or often more) than once on the start button to start car. Mine had to have starter and other things changed (can't remember) etc to fix that problem. Hope yours is still under warranty. The mechanic here told me to avoid pressing too long as it causes some problem I don't know what as I video taped it so many times to show the factory. Of course, the factory or the area manager in APAC will always deny that -it seems to be the modus operandi of some Lamborghini people, deny deny deny like the fire hazard etc. Thank God they are changing him soon I heard. Hopefully the new guy will not blame the customer and address problems like that for good. But rest assured, you are not the only owner with this chronic problem. Again, complain to the factory and maybe they will do something to assist. I don't usually post anything here but I've decided to alert owners on certain problems that I am quite familiar with to force the factory to get its act together, fix the damn problems in their 'supercars' and address design or chronic problems because factory (or some people there) seem to like to deny and only going public (media which I haven't done yet) or have owners complain en mass will force them to act. Hope it helps
  2. Mine is all gloss carbon and gloss paint including black bits
  3. For years Lambo factory denied any problem even though I and other owners raised it numerous times with the factory. If you look at all the videos of fires they all start in the same spot at the back. That is the problem. Finally, at least they admit it. But it's the location of the vapour pump causing the fires according to Lambo mechanics - which is logical and you don't need to be Einstein to see that -not so much what they are suggesting in the recall, I have been told, but I really hope it will really stop the fire hazard for everyone's sake. They should redesign the damn thing and locate it elsewhere away from the exhaust so it does not catch fire from exhaust fumes travelling up to light up the fire. Will Lambo ever do it? Unlikely, it is too costly to redo so they resort to this band aid 'fix'. Meanwhile, let's hope there is no more fires. The funny thing is they really thought, by making the rusty and (unsafely) sharply cut SV exhaust pipes face down -not straight pipes as with other Aventadors - , it would stop fires - as if hot exhaust fumes will defy physics and not go up the back causing fires lol
  4. All my aventadors have needed to have the start button usually pushed TWICE to start which is a design problem again that the factory should fix . Had all the errors above and took a lot of parts changing and I always have a battery charger connected ! Unfortunately there has not been a proper solution so far but it is quite annoying for a 'supercar'. I would complain to the factory because I assure u that u r not the only customer with this problem and maybe just maybe they will find a proper fix . But I wouldn't hold my breath lol
  5. Yes. Could be sensors. Could also be ECU needing a complete change due to faulty components not just s/w. I had mine changed on old A roadster which helped and others recently had theirs changed on SV as well. Seems like a common problem but owners don't usually like to publicise that nor does the factory or dealers lol. 'If only people knew the truth' is the common theme discussed when some of us owners ger together. But we have to consider resale value of our cars so ... One SV owner couldn't even put his SV in first gear. So ECU got changed, now car works fingers crossed. Love the look of car but hate its reliability. Hate chronic problems. I never ever experienced anything like that with other brands (like Porsche etc). Someone or some people at the factory should get their ass kicked! No excuse . Too many design problems that the factory does not admit to or fix and nothing is done to fix them NO EXCUSE Lamborghini ! To add fuel to the fire (no pun intended Fortis but u put a great link BTW to avoid fire hazard so thanks I just sent it to my mechanic to check my cars), our Lambo 'area manager', who constantly is in denial mode, has a habit of blaming customers instead of admitting and fixing problems eg ECU, shudder, rusty exhaust, caps on wheels constantly popping out (lambo mechanic took em out on track for me to save embarrassiment in front of other brands, his poor boss suggested drilling holes in them to let heat out so they don't pop out lol). I agreed anything is better than that. Actually if u don't want ur car to fall to bits, don't take it to track at all, which is a shame for a 'supercar' what the hell is the point if u can't take it to the track ?? - I do anyway but owners have to find their own solutions, how embarrassing!! Not to mention, shit quality , flimsy plastic (door openers keep breaking) all over car and even worse quality steel exhaust that comes with rust (straight from factory mind u lol) with edges so sharp that would cut your fingers if u ever dare touch (imagine some kid touching them when parked) -seen too many of them rusty exhausts but does the factory even admit to that ? No of course It must be the owners imagination - I'm going to have to put better quality stainless steel on top of mine custom built or chrome it or something -unbelievable for what we pay! Enough winging. Lamborghini is lucky nobody has come out in public or in media and exposed them yet (outside this forum of course) . They are pushing their luck though if this continues . But I still love the look of it (and sound) - when it works! haha
  6. There is an additional problem when you store roof in trunk it gets damaged on the corner because of a protruding plastic piece at bottom of trunk that holds roof. It is a design problem that plagued all A roadsters including SV. I use a soft towel to cushion it. Ridiculous for such an expensive car!! So if I were you, I would complain directly to the factory as it is the only way u may get some response. May!. I found them very lazy or negligent to act on anything and prefer to ignore especially when all cars are sold! But more complaints from owners may yield something - I hope! Otherwise the only other way the factory reacts is when they are publically exposed in the media -but that would be a last resort!
  7. While I'm at it, it seems every owner of an SV that I spoke to complains about the cap on wheels Popping out on road whenever car is on track or driven for a while . If it happens when u r parked then u can pick them up damaged but on the road forgeT it. Has factory fixed it ? No and probably never will because they sold their SVs and don't give a shit
  8. I think most owners either get used to it or accept these problems and a few complain to factory.. this is unfortunate because at the best of times R&D are too lazy to make any changes and rock the boat which is all the more reason owners must report noises and shudders to force the factory improve the car. Another classic example is the roof on the A roadster which many owners here complained about: when you put it in front trunk it gets damaged in one corner due to a design problem (a protruding plastic at base of trunk) but the factory still has not fixed it and owners have to come up with their own band aid solutions because of that unfortunate factory attitude: if it sells who cares. I complained about it many times and nothing has been done so I put a soft towel under the roof to avoid damage what a joke!! And we pay pay over $1m plus options in Australia for an SV roadster But the more owners complain the more likely factory will act
  9. I've had shudder problems and other weird noises at low speeds and take off but that seems to be unfortunately common with other owners , it could be to do with software or something but the factory should fix that no excuses! You should report to dealer because unless everyone does that nothing will be done by the factory R&D to fix it !
  10. It is a design problem that I complained about in normal lp700 roadsters too which needs to be fixed! Nothing yet done about it but you should complain and maybe lambo will do something about it. I use a soft towel to cushion the compartment where roof sits in front ... Until one day Lambo will come up with a solution which I already suggested.
  11. I like your taste in women ! That is a delicious cake!
  12. Good taste! I agree silver or grigio estoque is best. You are lucky in the US you can buy it cheaper than her in OZ where it more than double thr price because Lambo Italy ripps us off by doubling the dealer purchase price...
  13. I think someone photographed my car in Sydney (Pitt st) -it's the blue one. Mine is a 2000 compliance SV roadster (only 2000 model here) and I know of only one yellow 1999 SV roadster. It looks like only difference really is rear wheel drive. It is a special order from Lambo factory -true! I was told only 5 were ever made. I hope this helps.
  14. This is the Affolter swiss version with a retractable electric roof (glass) and Affolter mods like the rear wing and back etc -he may also have modified engine slightly to give it more power. I wish I can get this electic roof on my roadster!
  15. I got ripped off too by this guy steve! I bought a roadster wing last year off ebay for $1800 off him and he sent me one that broke and was uneven anyway in supposed c/f. I had to change to a proper factory one soon after. So don't use him whatever u do!!
  16. FYI: We have in Australia at least 2 SV roadsters that I know of: mine is a 2000 model blue/purple (exactly same build as 1999) and there is a 1999 model yellow. There is at least one SV roadster in the UK too. All are RHD. For 1999/2000 there is only about 5 SV roadsters worldwide. I was told by Lamborghini that mine was part of a special order but I never realised how rare it was when I first bought it untill recently -through this forum. I hope this info helps. Here's a photo of my car.
  17. Mine is a a special order SV 2000 roadster made by the factory (it looks same as 1999 vt, it is simply rear wheel drive) and is the last to come to Australia and to be made as far as Lamborghini Australia is concerned. We have 1 more 1999 SV roadster that I know of and a total of about 5 worldwide (between maybe UK and Australia!!) I believe . I don't believe any were made for the american market.
  18. Yes you can drive the diablo daily. I have a 2000 Roadster SV in Sydney and it is great. Just maintain it. No probs at all and people tell it even looks better than the new ones -definitely more exotic and a genuine Italian ( the last Roadter SV made!)
  19. Do you have Diablo roadster RHD 99 or 2000 carbon parts for say console near buttons area?
  20. For my info, what do the VIN numbers tell you? And is there any risk in revealing them publicly?
  21. Apart from being rare it seems, I don't know to be honest -the rear wheel drive as you said I guess!
  22. MIne is a factory made SV roadtster 2000. Here's the pics.
