  1. I'm not liking the rear brake ducts or the wheels at all.... I'm really excited about the new adjustable geometry turbos they are putting in it though...
  2. That is a SICK power curve. I would love to see what it looks like with a smaller pulley and the boost turned up.
  3. I dont have time to read through all of this right now so this may have been mentioned already. Talk to evolution imports (evolutionimports.net i think). My friend is bringing in an r-33 v-spec through them that should be in Dallas in a few weeks. Essentially they import the skyline as a kit car. They pull the whole driveline and tranny in the bahamas, ship them to the states seperately and reassemble it and register it as a kit car. I THINK he may be limited to 5,000 miles on the car / year, but I may be wrong. If you are really serious about doing this I will get you in touch with my friend as I would love to see one of these cars state side. Hope this helps. Lol, just noticed an eerily similar alias that has been offering advice on this thread too... Cheers SteveH!
  4. Well, how does [email protected] sound then? Kinda hard to achieve that without serious power  I have no doubt it my mind that that M5 is capable of making some serious power... I was talking about the M3 when I was saying the piping looks dinky etc... The engine bay of that M5 looks like a masterpiece
  5. <--- another STi owner that browses these forums from time to time... Your car looks great! What else do you have done to it?
  6. All of the piping in that car looks pretty dinky to be flowing 1000hp.... Take a look at some of the other mega-hp turbo cars on the road and you will see tubular exhaust manifolds and 3" intake piping. The m5 above looks beautiful though.
  7. Those Eco-tec's are supposedly stout little motors.... I've heard they're good for 700whp on the stock internals!!! I bet for under $5k you can be putting down 300whp reliably. I think you made a really good decision on the motor.
  8. Can you even get in/out of that car????
  9. I would expect 420hp in a boxster to lead to 0-100kmh times quicker than 4.5s... Sick little car none the less, I really like it.
  10. I'm from Miami and I'm in the same boat as limey... I see some NICE renntech benzes from time to time, but thats expected as they are based out of Ft. Lauderdale (I think). I don't recall seeing any Brabus Benzes anywhere though.
  11. I'm more biased towards imports personally, but I will admit that the mustang is probably the best bet for a NEW car with the quarter mile in mind... You may as well start with the base v6 considering the motor work that will be done to save some cash. With the $30k+ left for mods I wouldn't doubt that high 8's would be possible on slicks. I don't think an evo or sti will be running those time for under $50k. AWD is only good at the 1/4 to point, (right around when you breaking drivetrain parts on everyother run) after that RWD rules the 1/4.
  12. If youre buying that kind of performance for 75k sacrifices are going to have to be made.... I don't understand why people can't just admit this is the probably THE performance car deal of the decade and would rather focus on the car's interior flaws (not just here, its pretty much what people are saying all over the net.)
  13. My list so far... I'm only 21 so I'm working on it. '00 Audi A4 1.8t w/ ~320hp - sold '05 STi ~350hp and hopefully increasing substantially soon Abofalz... You said you have trouble finding time to keep all of your cars up and in running condition... If you ever need someone to keep an eye on them (wash, wax, change batteries, etc) I live in Coral Gables about 4 months a year... I'd be happy to keep an eye on your babies for you while im there in exchange for a quick drive  I love cars more than anything and would do anything for a chance to drive some of the cars you own.
  14. I could see how your car could benefit from having to respool during upshifts at lower speeds (below 100) as I'm sure traction is an issue with the kind of power you're making. When the power comes on gradually you are much more likely to hold traction rather than shocking the tires with all of it at once. Its pretty cool you don't have to run one though... I got over the sounds they made when I was about 18 and I think going for sleeper status now is much more fun . I'm sure a few people have been surprised to hear your car spool up after hearing no indication of a turbo beforehand... As for the Saleen I remember reading they were going to build two TT versions. The first would be the non-intercooled version @ 5.5psi and 750hp. I also remembered reading about an intercooled version that was going to be coming out in the future that they claim will make 1000hp, but I cant seem to find anything on it now. What do you think is wrong with switching from hydraulic to solid lifters? I'm pretty sure this is to prevent valve float at higher rpm, but once again, I may be wrong.
  15. "My Esprit, also has no blow off valves stock from the factory." Well, this is news to me... I just can't see why such a simple part that is proven to increase performance and reliability would ever be overlooked on cars where so much else has done for performance. Maybe I'll go plug mine up and see how my car runs
  16. "This is just completely false..... I own a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo and there are no BOV'S or bypass valves, period!" Wow, this is pretty surprising to me (I looked at pictures of the motor and it definately does not have either). Not only is this the first case that I have heard of an FI car running without one, but it is even more surprising to see the lack of a way to vent the charge pipes in such an extreme application. I guess the boys over at Lingenfelter know what they're doing though... Have you ever considered adding them your self? It seems like it would be a cheap upgrade that would add a little longevity to your turbos (assuming it wouldn't foul up your tuning) Mako, once again, sorry about the attitude. I have nothing but respect for Lambo owners (at least the ones that drive them the way they're meant to be driven and not solely for the bling factor) and I think they are some of the most bad ass machines on the road . I feel I have a pretty decent idea of what I'm talking about with motors. I did all of the work on my Audi myself (turbo upgrade, fuel system, exhaust, etc...), but the geniuses at PES that tuned it managed to blow up my motor along with about 10 others that were running the same kit. I'm not claiming I know everything, I know motors go waaay beyond those bolt ons, but I am pretty familiar with the basic stuff. Owning an Sti and being able to track it from time to time at 21 has been awesome and I consider myself very lucky to be able to do so. Cheap cars have come a long way in terms of performance in the last few years, just imagine what will be available for ~$30K 20 years down the road... assuming we can still afford gas. Anyhow, back on the topic... Any other cars you would have like to see run in the mile shootout? I would love to see how one of Heffner's TT vipers stood up against Hennessy as I think he is putting down higher numbers now and after reading some stories about Hennessy I can't say I'm a huge fan of his. I would have also like to see some more cheap cars modified to the extreme than the Audi TT to see how they stack up against the big boys. I think a built GN would have been cool to demonstrate how all the HP in the world won't help when you have the aerodynamics of a brick. An sc or tt diablo/murci would have been nice too, I think a properly built one would be right up there with the TT viper if not faster, but they are few and far between.
  17. Sorry if that came off as having a bad attitude. I hang out here because I am passionate about cars and there are some very sick rides on these forums that I enjoy looking at, but I dont post often at all. Regardless, some statements thate were made were wrong, plain and simple. I am sorry if the posts came off as being a poor sport, I thought forums were a place open to debate and discussion. Sorry about the sig deal, I am a member at many other forums where listing your cars, past and present, is common practice, I know my cars are nothing special, but at the age of 21 I am proud of what I have owned. Give me 10 more years and I'm sure it will be more impressive :supz:
