I'm not sure how one could ever get tired of Tahiti blue (if I ever paint mine, it will be that color), but rosso is not bad either, and better than white IMO (sorry Steve and Romandad). Great job, John. You are inspiring me to go work on mine.

Consider yourself inspired, and get that bad boy in shape, so you can go on a Lambo drive! :icon_mrgreen:

Two more.

that side view of the Countach - body only, just painted in dripping red paint is like PORN to me :icon_mrgreen: just a little kooky...

nothing like a Countach! :headbang:

Buying and selling more expencive. Cares for the money, not the cars as our dear mr. johnmh obviously/luckily does.

With all the sweat equity involved in finding them and fixing them, I could not sell any of them, they are like children. The biggest problem is storage space. You can virtually stack Countaches. LM storage (and resoration space) is another question altogether, something like restoring vintage aircraft carriers.

Right now the LM is just an idea, no idea of the price yet. I just feel sorry for it.

If you think the headlight is bad, if I buy it I will post pictures which will make you queasy.

John, amazing work. It truly takes someone special to take on all these projects. That LM would be amazing to restore, but no doubt it looks like a basket case.

The CT looks great in RED, and black! :lol2:

Thanks for posting these. I love Lamborghini restoration threads! Keep up the good work!

John, in the CT techinical forum you are one of the few documenting the tearing down and rebuilding of this car. Brilliant job and encouragement for the faint hearted..

Keep going with the LM - would love to see one of them come to peices!! I think we all carry a secret lust for one..

As for painting a narrow body green No 1 was originally red and spectactular in that colour..

The car was originally white with a white interior (not my favourite CT combination),

Thanks for the encouragement. The temptation to take on just one more project can be hard to resist sometimes. I am still waiting on more information about the LM (basically a price for it) but think it might be one that I buy today to park and start on some time in the future when I am done my current project. I confess I have always wanted an LM. There is probably a psychiatric term for such a desire.

This may be sacrelidge, but in the interim since my last post I have almost completed the purchase of yet another car - with 12 cylinders, a horse on the nose and the ability to grate cheese on its flanks - for a negligible amount (think 'cost of an engine out clutch job on a Countach' or 'the price of a nice used Honda Civic' and you are in the ballpark). It runs well and is all there, it just needs the complete service and a good cleaning. An engine out belts swap ought to see it in good running condition in a few short weeks while I wait for new liners for the 82's engine block. Heck, I even like driving it as it is more practical than the CT and I can park it in public places unattended. After a long weekend drive in the Countach, commuting in a Pride Week parade float seems low key. What can I say? I like TRs. I promise not to use the F word here again.

Who knows how popular 12 cylinder cars will be in the coming years? Maybe its time to collect a few of the louder ones.

Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!

That is cheap !!

The parts alone are worth much more than that. On the bay, I have seen a door for sale at $5,000 USD. Seats for 2K. A fender for 2K etc...

I heard of a nice 550 driver in Dubai, that just sold for 45K. On the other board, someone posted pics of a yellow 512Tr that is for sale (somewhere in the Gulf area) - the engine was disassembled.
