Trip to the holy lands

I was in Europe just a couple weeks ago and took the requisite tour of Lamborghini. We also stopped at the Pagani factory. Both places are simply awesome. If you have not been I would highly recommend it. When we arrived at Lamborghini there was a new Superleggera sitting out front. It looks incredible in person! At one point while I was taking pictures of the Super G, I stand up after photographing the wheel or something, look to my left and standing right there is Valentino Balboni! That was probably the highlight of the whole tour. During the tour we saw the two assembly lines, but the Gallardo line was shut down for the day thanks to one of the biggest Italian snow storms in their recent memory. The Murcie line was running though. They were assembling mostly SVs. There were a couple interesting colors: Matte White, Matte Yellow, and a turquoise 640 that was destined to Saudi Arabia. In back there were also two Reventon Roadsters that were getting their final checks done. Weren't allowed to get a close look or take any photos of them, but still really cool. Then by the time we were about to leave, the orange SL had been replaced with a gray one. I'd be hard pressed to choose between them. Not usually a fan of gray, but on the SL it just some how works.

Pagani was also unbelievable. They had two Zonda Rs in their "showroom"/lobby area. We also got the see the assembly area and where they lay the carbon fiber into the molds. There was another room, but we were only allowed to take about one step into because of secret developmental stuff for their new model. I couldn't see anything that would be a good indication of what the new model will look like. And of course we weren't allowed to take pictures anywhere except for the lobby.

Here are some assorted pictures. I can post more if people would like! Enjoy!

The lp560-4 polizia was wrecked. That's the old one in the show room it looks like. I think it has a ton of miles on it!

It was old Gallardo, Polizia got two of them. One is broken, second is in museum.

I love these shots, especially grey LP570-4 Superleggera. Also see, that yellow Jalpa is back in museum!

There were two G police cars. The one at the factory has been there since last May.

so awesome thanks for pics, did you talk to balboni?

We got to chat with him for a couple minutes, but had to run back inside for the tour.

Any more pics of the factory? This the first time I've seen it with snow on the ground. Thanks!

Yeah, from the few people we talked to it sounded like it was the most snow they had seen in that area in about 30 years. It was a little disappointing, as we are from Minnesota and were hoping that Italy would be the warmest stop on our trip. In fact, here is a picture of the First Lamborghini we saw in Italy:
