ameer Report post Posted August 10, 2011 Could someone explain in broad terms the relationship between the US and Pakistan? As far as I know the US provides Pakistan with a lot of aid and considers it a "friendly" nation of sorts, while the Pakistani Intelligence is actively working against the US, and has ties to numerous terrorist organizations. The fact that OBL was on their territory, goes a long way to prove Pakistani interests do not coincide with US interests in the region. While I understand the Pakistani leadership is not a very cohesive one, I don't get why the US still provides them with aid and such. Islamic extremists in Pakistan are plenty and imo, Pakistan is a disaster waiting to happen if Islamists ever get their hands on power. To me they are just another Iran type PITA. Oh.... and they have NUKES.
