I noticed that Monterey Edition #8 is on Ebay item # 321348970622 . What happened to the interior plus there is no airbag compartment on the passenger side. Anyone know the story on this Diablo?

Just looking at the interior what were they thinking? The way it came from the factory is just plan gorgeous but why would someone change it so drastically and make it look like that.

It had a nitrous bottle at one point inside between the seats.

I suppose it boils down to the shot he had in there and how often he used it, but...

I'm thinking it's either it's a nice driver with 48k on the clock or a +$50k time bomb (without even addressing the interior rework).

Car looks sweet minus the wheels.....the interior needs a refinish, bit sure what that would cost. I agree, not sure why someone would re-do the interior like that....hopefully theres no hidden story

If it lived with high shots for any length of time, given that the engine was never designed for NOS, side loads through the pistons and cylinders, temperature extremes of all kinds floating through various components, rods, bearings, lions, tigers, bears, oh my. Low shot or a NOS bottle strapped on for show...maybe it's ok, but it's teetering on the edge of project car territory in my mind. What do you guys think?

I am NO expert on interior..but if I had to bet...sure looks like a FLOOD car...that's what leather does when totally gets wet...so they changed out the damaged seats, the other parts, but not the doors and dash that appear to be heavily water damaged. I bid it to $45K and stopped...I do have an extra set of the correct wheels here for it...

Contributing possibly to the brake job, rotors 'n all...?...hmmm...repaired front end damage...right air bag missing?...hmmm...makes the imagination wander around for awhile.

Looks like it was pretty sharp in these old pics, link

ad says it drives like a dream........gots to be true.

even if you put a little money into it, you are still below market value

Everything you read on the net is true.

Edit: This IS NOT the same one my friend looked at with the same asking price.

I see at least three different shades of blue as well as a bunch of overspray. If its cheap and you're itching to do a restoration then I guess it may make sense for someone who's going to do the work themselves?
