Fortis Report post Posted August 15, 2017 700hp and 2300lbs . You do the math , Murci not even close , Aventador will hole shot it for the first few hundred yards then it is game over . But you are crazy, you can run circles around most people in a Fiero, so you don't count

LPDADDY Report post Posted August 15, 2017 Totally agree. No squeaks from Countach.. Tons from the Murci. Oddly in all my years I've never had to parallel park the Countach. For me, its a car I drive to drive, and put back in the garage... I never heard squeaks either , lot of other irritating noises like a super whiny transmission
Redlambo Report post Posted August 15, 2017 I never heard squeaks either , lot of other irritating noises like a super whiny transmission The earlier models had real whiny transmissions. The later models they had far less noise, and then sometime in or around 86 ZF started building the Countach transmission. I believe you had a LP400S correct? What year was it? Murci has no issue with Xj220, and an Aventador will put a big asswhooping on it http://www.evo.co.uk/lamborghini/murcielag...-v-jaguar-xj220

The S variant puts out the near 700hp.

You have zero objectivity . Just because you own your 3 Lambos does not make them any better or worse cars than they are and the same goes for my XJ220S. Fact is , the S was delivered from TWR as a limited edition car , I did not modify it in any any way which basically means it is stock . You can argue it all you want , it still doesn't change the fact that it will destroy pretty much any Lambo up to date in a straight line and if you compare it to what Lambo was offering in 93, I.E. the Diablo , the Diablo is not even in the same ball park . Taste is subjective and the XJ220 is not to everyone liking and obviously not to yours but if you look at the build and finish of the car , it was way ahead of its time in 93 and can still keep up with most modern sports cars

I love the Jag... BUT.... No way it weighs 2300lbs.... 700hp probably abit optimistic as well. Since you are shipping the car to me... we can race as I will buy an Aventador soon! Can try the CGT too!

Just a quick Google search says the standard XJ220 weighs 3,240.8 lb and then right below it it says the TWR weighs 2319 lbs, what did they remove to lose 1000 pounds of weight in the TWR? It is all carbon, no trunk, nothing besides air . I have no reason to disbelieve the 700hp , it is way faster than the SLR, breaks the tires loose in 3rd gear on the highway. As i said, you will get to drive it, you be the judge . You will be surprised as how small it feels and how easy it is to drive considering it is the size of a 76 Eldorado. emilio Report post Posted August 29, 2017 i think it all may be related to the XJ220S being much better than a regular XJ220, that was not a slow car to start with in the 90's i have no eperience with both but sometimes some versions has a lot more to offer than the regular car i drove few 348s and a 348 Challenge with H engine...difference was BIG...much much bigger than i ever aspected! with a turbo engine you can do wonders, so i can believe the S can be a complete different animal from the regular XJ220 p.s. i love the XJ220: many years ago i almost bought one before getting the diablo ...anyone told me the maintenance - parts costs were so hig to make a V12 lamborghini looks like a VW golf to maintain so i passed on it. the XJ220 when new was a semi-disaster for Jaguar since, on paper, it had to be a V12, 4wd machine and came out as a rwd, V6 Turbo in production and most thought it was a big let down. not to mention the car is huge and for some european roads is a bit to long and wide to be enjoyed the car was much more powerfull and light as produced wtith the smaller turbo engine, but many decided not to go on with orders in the end. i think the most undervalued super car for many years due to this afterthought specifications today is finally getting the attention it deserved. the S is a such a rare machine that almost nobody really knows it was made....go figure real performance of it

The Diablo was had better visability ,but by the end of the day I was TIRED of driving such a large car...the Murcie is more user friendly but the E Gear takes the fun out of wailing on it from the start up.
