  1. Right, How can you forget you have one and at the same time forget to pay the toll (I assume you go thru a different lane if you are paying with a transponder?) They could and should give them back but if they have been used they are stealing and for that I am afraid NO REDEMPTION is available in my book. Russell
  2. Thet shouldn't put the Gallardo in a "made in Italy" expo should they? Russell
  3. so go out design a car from scratch and build it, don't call it a Lamborghini or Ferrari etc don't put fake Lamborghini or Ferrari badges on it and I might be impressed. Russell
  4. I had close to 100k stolen by an employee (junior accountant) a few years ago, FBI and every one involved, all very business like telling me money would be returned through garnishment, person would go to jail etc etc. 4 years later, no money no conviction no nothing. But I still get a ticket for speeding when I go 10 over. My advise don't expect any justice so don't get worked up over it, revamp your check and balance procedure to stop this happening again. Russell
  5. In Europe and other areas the cars have an automatic mode (push gas pedal and car changes gear for you depending on speed and revs) that can be activated from a button on the center console, in the US the button is blank, not sure why but you can still access the automatic gearbox setting by holding back both paddles until you hear a beep and see a red light in the dash, you can deactivate the auto mode by pulling one of the paddles or turning the ignition off. I have tried this in my 640 and it works, though not quite a smooth as a normal automatic car. Russell
  6. Yes if you pull both paddles towards you when moving the car will go into neutral, although it is not supposed to be available in the US if the car is stopped and you pull both paddles for 10 or 15 secs the car will go into automatic mode. Russell
  7. I would be very careful as you could do major damage if the oil pressure is low. When the light is on is the guage showing correct oil pressure or is it also low, if so it might be a sender going out. Have it checked and also have the oil pressure checked with a guage, this is assuming that you checked for correct oil, oil level and oil filter first. Russell
  8. This problem has been covered quite a bit on this forum. Search and you will see a few threads. The 2 main main causes for me seemed to be first not letting the engine and gear box warm up prior to taking off (on first start up I let it run for a good 5-10 mins to warm gearbox as well as engine) and also not giving the throttle a good prod when starting from a stop. Once the bucking starts it seems to get into a loop and the only way I found to stop it was to drive through a few gears or to turn ignition off and re start the engine. It can be a right pain in the rear but once you get used to it you can avoid it 99.9% of the time. The dealer can adjust the point in RPM's where the cluch starts to bite and also I think the sensitivity of the throttle to help with the problem. Russell
  9. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. Nuf said, roll on. RUSSELL
  10. Sitting in my car (LP 640) this morning waiting for it to warm up and playing with the AV system to keep me occupied I found a menu where you can change the screen background. One of the options was a black screen with a white Lambo bull. It looks pretty cool but gets covered up by other graphics when you select Ipod tuner etc. I'm sure this screen should have been selected from the factory on delivery but mine was plain blue. Russell
  11. Start car and open the vents with the button. Turn engine off and very quickly turn the battery isolator switch to the off position, best to have engine cover already open as you need to do this before the vents start to close, I have done it on my own but would be easier with 2 people. Vents will now stay open all the time even when the engine is turned off. To reverse back to factory operation turn ignition key off and on 3 or maybe 5 times and on the last turn to on also push the button for opening the vents, keep this button pressed untill the vents are fully closed. Down sides, car will warm up slower in cool weather and might run cooler, vent open and close mechanism can be broken by people leaning against the vents. Upside, it looks really cool. Russell
  12. yes, they can adjust the point (rpm) when the clutch bites. I think they can also adjust the speed at which the throttles initialy open (drive by wire) when you hit the peddal so as to make a hard or softer launch. Russell
  13. Its an off the shelf Kenwood, I think the models change and it is probably an old model but the newer one should fit Russell
  14. Same as you do unless I feel like watching a passenger hit the windshield then the seat back. Russell
  15. My book says a light in the dash should light up saying of all things "brake wear" Russell

  17. This is just the latest episode of a history of ignorance from a select few uber rich douch bags who invade London every year. The normal working people who have to live with them in their native country must be ashamed of them although they probably don't voice this distain for fear of what might happen to them. I am glad I don't live in London anymore as I would now be in jail for poking one of these cu#ts on the nose. You might get the feeling that I have had some run ins with these people before and you would be correct. Russell
  18. How much for the car and how much for the tax? In the US purchase tax on a new car can vary state to state, South Carolina is max $300, North Carolina where I live is 3% and correct me if wrong California is 10%. This means a $300K car would cost tax included $300300 in SC and $330000 in CA Russell
