  1. i would suggest buying sterling silver spoons on ebay... before the whole silver boom as of late I used to buy sterling silver spoons below scrap and have accumulated a nice amount over time. I would stay away from buying coins because those are more for looking pretty than investing and youre also paying a premium for that. if youre serious about investing in silver then i would also suggest buying 100oz,500oz and 1,000 oz cast bars, there are a few good websites out there but i will not promote them because i have no affiliation with them.
  2. A few years back when I started flying regularly I came across the same dilema, not really knowing much about headphones I went to Bose and purchased a pair of the QC3 headphones. Since buying them ive replaced the battery and ear pads since the old ones wore out. I know that there are better headphones but for me they are perfect, I like the way they fit my ears and how they cancel out all noise.
  3. Im guessing its an expensive road bike? I would first try to list it for sale on your local craigslist, you will get lots of time wasters (been there done that). you may also try to list it on the for sale section of bike forums, it helps to be an active users to make a quick sale. Another idea is to part it out; sell the components and wheels on ebay, and put the frame up for sale at your local bike shop on consigment. Best of luck with the sale
  4. I figure I should ask this on a benz forum but im sure id come across lots of bias with mercedes owners so maybe someone here could help me out. Im looking at getting a used CL550, i know the CL600 could be had for a few thousand more but im planning on putting miles on the car and gas really adds up with a v12. What i want to know is how reliable is the CL550 and what types of issues/problems should I prepare to deal with? I remember hearing the W215 CL55 had its fair share of issues which turned me off while I was looking at buying one a a few years ago but now im thinking of a W216 CL550. Has anyone here owned one and how was your expierence with the car? I know that its best to avoid first year of production so id be looking at a 2008 or 2009, probably with the keyless feature and the ventilated seats.
  5. more curious to see how the PAK-FA will be received, i know the united states will try to downplay it
  6. I believe this is the famous shazam, this guy is always selling salvage cars under different names from Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  7. Im sure companies like frito-lay (pepsico), kraft foods, are putting in bids in order to buy out hostess and merge it or make it a subsidary of their company. hostess has a few products (twinkie being the most popular along with wonder bread) which are established brands with devoted consumer base. I also see oppertunity for PE firms like KKR to come in and buy the whole company and sell off the portfolio of brands individually
  8. I always recommend Heckler & Koch handguns, at the end of the day they are the best. Made in Germany from some of the finest materials they are alittle more expensive but you pay for what you get. My best advice would be to travel to a gun store and handel a few different HK handguns, you need to feel them and touch them and choose one that you are more comfortable with. here is the HK websites handgun section: http://www.hk-usa.com/civilian_products/pistols.asp a good all around handgun is the USP, i currently have the P2000 SK which is a more advanced version of the USP compact. when choosing a caliber its important to choose what you feel most comfortable shooting - I personally enjoy 9mm, its extremely easy for me to lay 11 rounds (10+1) center body mass without any issues. Federal HST JHP ammo opens up like umbrellas on impact so you never have to worry about stopping power. with HKs there are also different types of triggers, i use the LEM trigger which i enjoy. There are different types of options but ive noticed they tend to confuse people so its best to buy whats available and modify it later. for me personally a handgun is all you need, you need to become very comfortable with it until it becomes an extension of your arm, go to the range as much as you can, you need to come to the point where when you raise the gun your sights line up perfectly and you feel 100% confident you will lay every single bullet center mass in the solar plexus. shotguns are also pretty good, you may want to look into the Benelli M4. Its a semi-automatic shotgun which means you dont need to pump the shotgun after each shot you just keep pulling the trigger until you need to reload. A really good rifle is the HK 556A1, they are alittle expensive but the technology behind it is very impressive and I wish we could have them in Cali because i would definetly have 2.
  9. a family friend of mine has over half a dozen pawnshops in the los angeles area and has a CCW permit, going to give him a call later to day and ask how he got it
  10. neither of those i own a few properties in the area and over the years have evicted and sued former tenants for non payment, damage, etc. have been theatend many times but the last time just sounded alittle different so im looking into the option of a CCW license.
  11. can I ask what you carry? Also if someone is knowledgeable how hard is it to get a CCW license in Los Angeles? Ive never really considered it until recently and from what ive read you have to prove that you are in danger? At the moment I have a HK P2000 SK 9mm loaded with federal HST JHP 124 grain which I keep at home but lately I have started to feel like I need to begin carrying it
  12. does anyone here have a concealed carry permit?
