I only fly the stuff where the wings go faster than the fuselage.... Did loads of flying in LA, used to rent a sweet R44 from LA Helicopters, then did a bit of hour building in KLOS95.5's 206BIII traffic chopper. Used to get to Van Nuys for 5:45 to be up in the air for 06:00, fly for three hours then back to Tustin for a days work...All just for fun, it's not my job. Now fly around in a (rented) R44 or EC120 in the UK....

We have a 2008 Passat bought new, every panel has at least one ding, all wheels are curbed. She even drove into the towbar (towhitch) of my parked Range Rover one week after buying the Passet. Whilst some members (such as lucky Al), may have precise driving partners, as many or more of us have ones that we wouldn't dream of letting behind the wheel of a Lambo or similar. Now I'm fcuking stuck here, because British Airways sent some shitter old 747 that went Tech. Five hour delay before they say there's a problem with a flap transducer and we'll all have to come back later, as they can't take off and the cabin crew are now out of flying hours. Luckily I was sat at the front of the plane. They organised taxis to Mandarin Oriental, and gave me a nice suite overlooking the Esplanade. They made the economy (coach) passengers wait for buses and they were being sent to some hell hole elsewhere. Still a 24 hour delay that I could do without, wifey going spare with the twins, I have to go on another business trip on Saturday that I need to prepare for back in the UK. The timing couldn't have been worse. At least Allan's posts of NWS flaps are brightening my day.
