  1. Damn that escalated quickly. Made my morning Allan!
  2. I need to re-evaluate what I do for a living.......or just do it smarter. Jeez.....the cost for fuel in that boat is likely the cost of a nice luxury car. Congrats and enjoy in good health!!! Makes me happy to see people do so well in their lives. Very inspirational!
  3. Joe Pesci Al Pacino Lil Wayne
  4. Sorry if this is a re-post. Now it seems to make a little more sense to me. Interesting........ https://screen.yahoo.com/videos-for-you/wal...04238.html?vp=1
  5. I can't speak for the Lamborghini matte paint, but I have the matte MBZ designo magno paint, and it does require a bit more of upkeep. Mine is a daily driver and it gets lots of fwy driving. Paint is strong and even though I have some rock chips here and there, I really have no complaints. The one thing I did notice is that over time where I grab the door on the outside to shut it, the paint has gone a bit glossy (less matte). Also, when you have pollen or bird droppings, you really need to wet it, then carefully wipe it off as soon as possible. As everyone here has said, constant rubbing will turn the paint glossy and then you're screwed. One last tidbit; when the car is dusty and/or a little dirty, it seems that it is not as noticeable during the day, and much much noticeable at night. Maybe it's me, but it is strange... If I had to do it all over.....I would absolutely do it again. It just takes some getting used to. I must say though, it is entertaining when I am waiting for the car at the valet and I hear some smartass say to his wife/girlfriend "Oh babe, that's just a sticker to make his car look dull like that...it's not real paint". uh-----ok. Long story short.......I vote matte FTW.
  6. Agreed. Compare that to the early days of the 4 speed Porsche 930 Turbo's. Hard to even compare, but in those days with a few mods, felt like the front wheels would come off the ground. They would get tail happy in the wet and fwy on/off ramps were your worst enemy. The newer twin turbo Porsches with all the electronics and stability controls can give an average driver wayyyy too much confidence. Scary to see where we came from, but happy to have these on newer super cars.
  7. I think we can all agree that this was a tragic accident no matter how we look at it (driver error, mechanical error, or act of god, etc). I have been trying to figure out the crash scene and compare the crash scene photos posted on the web with those from Google Maps to try and figure out how this could happen. From all accounts, the car was traveling North on Constellation to Hercules where there is a 90 degree left turn. This turn is about 450 feet from the actual crash site where the car ended up. I could only image that they exited the turn under heavy acceleration, shifted gears, and that's when the car lost traction and (likely) over-steered, slid 180 degrees over the curb and into the light pole. I have not seen pictures of the North side curb on Hercules to see if there was wheel contact (i.e. understeer that would have caused the car to hit the north curb first, then spin the car 180 degrees. It also seems that from what most CGT owners have to say about the car is that it will get away from you when accelerating in a straight line (with traction control deactivated), let alone coming out of a corner. As we know, they are very finicky. The CGT are able to brake from 100mph (down to 0) in 3.8 seconds. With that being said, how fast must they have been going into (and out of) that corner, and how far along the 450ft section of Hercules did they loose control and spin out? My guess is that it was pretty deep into that stretch, and I could only assume that by this time, the car was already sliding sideways (where the brakes will do no good anyhow). I did have the pleasure of meeting Paul a few times over the years and he was a super down to earth guy. You could tell from the moment you met him, that he was very passionate about his cars and driving them. R.I.P. Paul & Roger, you will be missed, but not forgotten.
  8. No bueno. In a gloss black with red highlights would not be too bad. Wheel style is not bad, but color makes it a "no", at least for me. Looks like this red is the anodized flavor, and it would be hard to carry that theme anywhere else on the exterior of that car. I even think a deep bronze or black could work. I agree with the others....HRE should stop using red on wheels.....period. On a side note....car looks insane.
  9. Mike is a great guy to deal with. Welcome aboard!

  11. 41....damn, you ARE old. Happy belated B-Day!
  12. 110% Aftermarket. The original owner may have purchased them new when the car was bought, but they are not factory. Hard to tell if there would be any differential issues because it would have just taken one set of incorrect tire sizes to screw it up. I think the 235/35-19 and 345/25-20 setup has been well discussed here before.
  13. This is horrendous. It usually takes me a little time for the new design to grow on me, but there is no way I am ever going to like this. Complete fail! Ugh.....
  14. I agree that it is probably a 4-5k watch, especially based on its condition. It has the inverted 6, which makes it a little more desirable, but have a look at the chart attached for more detail. Most is based on serial number (i.e. S, T etc), and year produced. The hit this watch will take is mostly based on condition. Its looks well worn. If you have this sent in for service and its "tune up", I think it will cost you about 600-700 and they will restore most of the scuffs and scars. Also check the crystal to be sure its not chipped or cracked because those things can get pricey. Good luck!
  15. Both look hot as hell. Murci previously belonged to Jack at Platinum Motorsports in LA and has been discussed on here before. Work is top notch and interior of this car is insane. I recall seeing the Phantom also on the Platinum site when they were doing the build for you. Congrats on the cars and enjoy them both in good health. Any additional pictures of the interior of the Mansory?

  17. Happy BDAY Allan. Hopefully, by now you have forgotten your name and where you are at..... CHEERS!

  19. I'm speechless......and I think my eyes are burning. Can someone give me the 2:23 seconds of my life back. Maybe Halloween is an everyday thing for him.... wow
  20. LMFAO.... Is that a carpet dance floor or am I missing something? I also like the sofa's outside...nice touch.
  21. Yes sir. He actually wanted the Koenig kit on his SL, but couldn't wait for them to build it in time. I did his white M5 with the 1st AC-Schnitzer widebody kit and MK wheels from the 850i. Man, its bringing back memories....You have been in the game for a minute if you remember those days. Also, just want to tell you that I am a huge fan of your music as well. Keep doin your thing.......
