  1. And for the ultimate Esprit rush - hit >130mph with your head lights up, then watch the hood pop out of the latch on the passenger side! Sounds like a cannon going off (get the leather cleaner out if you've got a newbie passenger )
  2. Hmm, looks better stripped
  3. No dipshit, im the asshole driving the Lotus, my and my sister are in the rent car. ROTFL!!!!
  4. Sounds fantastic, now lets hear it about 7000 RPM!
  5. Before you think about cheating on your wife http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...4556985749&rd=1 £25,000 revenge of DJ's wife By Georgina Littlejohn, Metro, 21st June 2005 It's one thing cutting up your errant husband's clothes and chucking them out on the street. Selling his £25,000 sports car on the Internet for just 50p is another matter entirely. But that's just what the scorned wife of a controversial DJ did. During a live interview with Jodie Marsh, Kerrang 105.2's Tim Shaw told the glamour model he was prepared to leave his wife and their two children for her. Wife Hayley was listening and said her husband's flirtatious interview was the 'last straw' in their relationship. After having a few drinks and while her husband was still in the studio presenting his show, she posted an advert on eBay for the Lotus Esprit Turbo with a 'Buy It Now' option of 50p. The item description read: 'I need to get rid of this car in the next two to three hours before my husband gets home to find it gone and all his belongings in the street.' The car sold within five minutes. On a previous occasion, the DJ upset Mrs Shaw, 27, when she was pregnant by ringing her sister live on air and saying he thought about her while having sex with his wife. Mrs Shaw said: 'When he said he would leave me and the kids for Jodie Marsh, that was it for me. I am sick of him disrespecting this family for the sake of his act. 'The car is his pride and joy but the idiot put my name on the log book so I just sold it. I didn't care about the money, I just wanted to get him back.' She added: 'There is no hope for a reconciliation.' A Kerrang 105.2 spokesperson said the DJ was 'absolutely gutted'. Mr Shaw was suspended from the station in February after he broke into programme director Andrew Jeffries' house during a live prank, damaged the property and wrote obscenities on the wall. –––––––––––––––
  6. Congrats - welcome back to the club!!!
  7. After driving a 89 esprit turbo SE vs my 93 NSX, I would completely disagree with that. However, the NSX isn't much fun on the street. It is geared too tall to be really fun. The track is where it performs. Here we go again ...... Yawn
  8. I could swear this car was for sale about 6 months or a year ago - same MO, old ill guy in Hawaii, blah blah blah ....
  9. Thats sacrilage, its a bit like Lambo putting an AMG engine in a Murcie :x Pantera - Lotus is owned by Proton (Malaysia) more scarilage :x :x :x
  10. A guy used to bring a red one down to the Crystal Cove get together in Orange county last year. Hate to say it, but it has a diablo'ish kit car look to the exterior. Sound was amazing though ....
  11. Errrr, that Ebay pic just put me off my breakfast
  12. Check 'em out on EBay, you'll get an idea of price there
  13. I'm thinking Homer Simpson designed it :vom:
  14. I've seen a 95 S4s fetch more than a 97 V8. Seems as all the V8 prices are in a death slide right now, making them a great deal.
  15. If you go for the early V8, have it checked for problems with the cylinder liners leaking. I have a S4s and love it (only 300 odd in the world) and with a few mods they go like stink! I heard of a guy in the L.A. Lotus club selling a black 95 S4s - send me a PM if you want details
  16. FWIW - I heard symbolic in San Diego were selling them at MSRP www.symbolicmotors.com
  17. WTF! The winning bid was ~$22,000 (although the high bidders feedback is a little dodgey!)
  18. Very sweet (way better than my first car)!!!

LOL! - I see my Esprit in 9 of your pics, you have a better collection than I do!
  20. Prefer the Range Rover ........
  21. My 2 cents worth ….. I've noticed a lot of dealers in California are now selling the Elise at MSRP vs the up to $10K over sticker a short while back. Looks to me like the initial rush to buy these cars is slowing, with many of the early ones now back on the used market causing prices to drop. Add to this Lotus has done an abysmal job of customer support in the past year – result of a major management shake up displacing the true enthusiasts from the company including ex CEO Arnie Johnson. Arnie was a guy you could call up and talk to about Lotus stuff pretty much anytime. He was accessible to owners and had a genuine interest in the cars, and what impressed me was his uncanny ability to remember your name over a year after you spoke to him! I think the fickle people/posers in California are finding the Elise harder to live with than they anticipated. I met one guy recently who was selling to go back to a Boxster - his reason was the Elise ride was "too harsh" and the stick shift was a pain in traffic! Okay, I think I've got a little of track on the topic, but overall it's a total blast to drive; prices are coming down and if you can live with its "spartan" style then go for it – it’s a blast to drive and once you get into some twisty roads you'll see what everyone is raving about
