  1. Not stating the NTH car, but on several trips to UGR I have seen first hand some of the poor workmanship done by other shops. Some things you can just look at and realize there was a better way to go about things. Other times, I have seen the end result of poor tuning/fueling or other issues that led to "boom" As for the #3 comment, I get what you're saying. But the UGR builds are in no way cookie cutter. Sure, we may all have a stage 3 or 2R, or whatever, but each build is custom to what the owner wants. At least it has been that way with me, and to the 20 or so owners that I speak with on a regular basis. Sorry to see Anthony go through all the BS. It sucks when you just want your car to work. However, on the plus side... I heard that there is a Performante coming with his name on it.... Wonder what build # he will have Mike
  2. A close UR friend of mine had a 13 SL. It was the Matte black. He had it wrapped in stealth film like you. And similar story, that when removing to re-do a part with debris under the film, the paint lifted. I know that the matte colors take special care, but not sure if that is a common place or not to have the paint simply pull away. I am sorry to hear of your dilemma. I would speak directly with a Lamborghini rep also. Not just the dealer. Get started with the dealers area rep. Good luck. Mike
  3. They are very similar provided you use the correct tuner
  4. This is probably of little help, but on the Gallardo, we could install a resistor to the side airbag plug. My car came with SL seats so I have not done it personally. You may want to dig into the Gallardo archives. Mike
  5. It just depends on how you use the car. If you go out of full kill all the time you are wise to have things inspected more frequently. However, If you just use a "modest" 1250 or so on pump 93 octane, you can run quite a while. At my last event, there was a gentleman there that had 25k miles on his 1R build. Street miles of pump fuel. He had not even changed the spark plugs in that time... It's a case by case basis. Most of us know going into this that if we build a race car, and use it as such. We have to prepare to have the proper PM done. As for Ross' car... It is a bad ass machine. And he did an amazing job driving the $hit out of it. Mike
  6. Forgive this comment. But are you sure the battery tender is working / hooked up correctly. On my Lamborghini tender, if I plug into the car before the outlet it simply seems to test the battery. Doesn't actually charge the car. Just my 0.02 Mike
  7. I honestly feel thin oil is to aide in MPG. I've run 15-50 Mobil one from bolt on to X2
  8. Lifting fault lamp on ? Sounded slow to start / crank too. I suspect low system voltage. Or a charging system malfunction.
  9. No SV here. But the accelerator pedal is simply a switch. However it's not on/off in reference to the click. I'm sure you understand that. In sport or corsa, the car can be a little lurchy ... it's a charastic of the single clutch trans. I would have the service manager sit in another aventador with you present. If the noise is not there , request they replace your accclerator pedal assly. Mike
  10. When you work your ass off and UR comes out and smashes your record.
  11. When I went 222 it was a little warmer than you guys had last weekend. Nice pass BTW... Your car always runs strong. Mike
  12. I have about 550 miles on mine... I have had E-gear and DCT cars in the past. I agree with this statement and it is one of the things I like least about the Aventador. The nibble at the steering when on throttle is annoying. I think once I get used to it taking place and do not continue to be caught off guard by it, it will be better. However, with colder climates here, I do not think I am going to get much more driving in this year. I am trying to find time to write a comparison on the Huracan 580 vs. 610 vs. Aventador as I have had all three in the last 18 months... Mike
  13. Racing at Ocala on smooth asphalt was a handful and I am not nearly the same power level as the "fast" cars. I can only imagine how much harder it would be making those insane power levels. Mike
  14. I drive in sport mode and my 2016 idles under 1000... I would say its the 850 range. In my huracan, if it was in corsa, the idle went up. Mike
  15. This thread will go pages and pages... I have always driven my cars the way I intend to drive them. I usually take it easy for one hundred miles. Just to allow everything to rotate etc... That does not mean I do not go to redline etc. I am aggressive, not abusive. I do feel it is very important to be up to proper temperature before getting aggressive. But I also follow that once the car is not so "new"... These cars were built to be driven and enjoyed. I do recommend an engine oil change sooner than the first year. I personally do it around 1000 miles... However, I do not feel it is necessary with modern engines. It just gives me a reason to have a beer in the garage with my toys. Congrats on the new bull!! I cant wait to see pics. Mike
  16. It was punched a few months ago. And the discount is not 100... But it is close. Guess I am leaving some room on the table? Mike
  17. Perfect... I'm the test car... HAHAHA
  18. So, I have had a few Gallardo's, and two Huracan's... I have a very fast Anniversario Gallardo that is powered by UGR. I have been craving the flagship for some time now. I can remember having Countach posters as a kid, and looking at those doors. It has always been a dream to own a car like this. Anyways, I am planning to trade my Huracan in on this beast. I feel I am being offered a very good deal, and the color is amazing. The options seem to be ok. I know the Huracan is faster, more agile, has a better transmission, takes to mods better... But if I want fast, the Gallardo fits the bill just fine. So, before I make the second largest purchase in my life... What do I need to know? I plan to do the paperwork today, and pick up the car this weekend. It is a NEW 2016. Hoping the tires have been over inflated and fuel is kept low to allow for fresh fuel to be added. Only posting this for the options to be listed... You guys know what they cost. If there is any reason I should stay away, please let me know. Thanks Mike
  19. I have not followed all the drama on FB or any other social media. I watched the side view video and thought... Damn, Ross did get a jump. But then I realized that I didn't see the light. I just assumed that because the GTR was not taking off, that it had to be a jump. I then watched the video that UR made, and saw the lights etc and realized that it was a clean run. The UR video also does a great job of hearing Amir explain to Ross, that the GTR will pace him... That didn't happen. So, right there it hurts the credibility from camp GTR. Unless both parties were not informed of the instruction to have the GTR pace Ross. ( Side Note ) with Ross getting into this set up for the first time, a Tilton clutch can be a bit of a challenge. So the fact that he is nervous and learning that setup makes perfect sense. I know first hand how that clutch setup feels... When you win, you win. And if you lose, take it like a man... Again, I have not read up on social media and the slamming that is mentioned... However, if a tuner ( The owner of the shop at that ) is making digs and slamming a customer of another shop. That is just not how business gets done. I have always respected the T1 cars. And 230 is no joke. That car was fast... But if you mess up at a light. Just say you messed up. We are all human. We all make mistakes.... Making excuses is lame. Just come back faster next year and go after the title. I also think that if TSS gets involved and makes statements, it makes me not want to attend such an event. As they set the rules and it can all be heard on audio. To make statements about what took place, and people that attended is poor business in my opinion. Ok... I feel better. Back to the shit storm... LOL Mike
  20. That pic shows quite a story. Just wasn't the day for the GTR. Props to T1 for the 230 run, that was epic. And huge thumbs up to Ross. That was perfect timing. Mike
  21. Every year. Every outcome. All the people who don't have fast cars, Bitch about a race they were not in. Want to make a difference. Build a car.
  22. I spy some upgraded rotors and white calipers... Looks great. Such an awesome platform... And another manual guy!! Mike
