Guys, just wanted to get some opinions here on whether or not a trunk spoiler would be in good taste to add onto a Rolls Royce Ghost. I understand that some might not even like what I've done with the car already, but that's ok. To each their own. But currently I do have Vorsteiner front lip and side skirts and have some aftermarket wheels: I'm contemplating on whether or not to add a rear trunk lid spoiler. It would be similar to this style. Again, not sure if I would go through with it or not, just looking for opinions. Thanks.

On another note, seems like Porsche and Mercedes aren't too far off from launching their version of fully electric cars. I'm curious to see what price point they would be at and what would fall into direct competition against Tesla within their respective price brackets.

Had a Model S (P100D) for a little while. Still not a fan of not being able to pull into any gas station when needed. You're somewhat reminded of just how far you are from any given Supercharger station on that map and I think that instills a little anxiety. This is personal of course. But beyond that, the price of a higher performance Tesla crosses into the price point of luxury European cars that feel miles better in terms of comfort and build quality. Case in point the P100D we had was practically overlapping the price of an S63 sedan. And I think I would prefer the S63 at that price. Speed might be addicting, but it wore off quick once I started wishing that everything else caught up to the level of the price.

There's nothing interior wise that would set it apart from the standard G. But if you ever get a chance to sit it one, you may "get it".

Had s Panamera S in the past. Not too interested in the new one either at this time.

Had one of those in the past. Didn't care for it. In fact that went towards our current RR.

As strange as it may sound the regular G doesn't do it for me. The 4x4 square would be the only G class I'd consider simply based on it's uniqueness.

I wasn't comparing them within the parameter of pricing. More so that we have a potential car to get rid of and these two were at the top of our choices. One a sensible daily, the other a wacky bonkers SUV.

You all are a lot sensible than I imagined For some reason I would have imagined that the G would have garnered more votes, but seems like the S is the better (perhaps more obvious choice). In regards to the long wheelbase RR, for us I think its more of just moving on and trying out a different brand altogether. Will consider RR again when the next gen hits the market. So I have no idea why I'm having such a hard time deciding on what to replace our Range Rover with. Have the current body style but it's out of warranty. So it gives me an opportunity to find something new. Technically nothing's wrong with it, so it's not like a ticking time bomb thing. But the two cars I'm considering to trade it for would be the S63 sedan or G500 4x4 squared. This is going to be mostly driven by the wife with the kids. Such to say it'll do street driving in the city. She doesn't care between the two so there isn't a biased opinion from her side. But given the two choices what would you guys do? Or sit tight and wait for something else to come along? Thoughts?

The changing of the wheels to 22" doesn't necessarily affect the ride all that much, though due to tire constraints, the noise from the tires are just slightly noticeable. You could almost say that the ride is just a tiny bit stiffer as well but you will still be on the smooth side of things. Remember if you go 22"s the Pirelli Scorpion SUV tires are your only choice (as I came to understand it). Also my car isn't lowered yet so not sure how it would ride afterwards. I'll report that when I get around to it. I also come from drivIng the harsh and stiff 2 doors but I have to say, and this maybe due to aging, the Ghost has won me over.

I recently put 22"s on my Ghost and would not suggest going any bigger like those who run "24s. Wheels just depend on your taste. I went with Vossens on mine.

Do you feel any performance with the cat bypass pipes? Does it throw any codes? And just as important, does it elevate the sound of the car more?

Hi KMR. I didn't compare the Bentley for one simple reason. I knew I wanted the Ghost to begin with. Though a distant second would have been the Mulsanne, but something about that car felt more "older gentleman" than I am of age. I don't agree with the way the Spur looks both current and previous generation, not to mention at that price level it didn't deliver a "specialness" to me that I was looking for. Also in my opinion the S-Class would have been preferred over the Ghost and we already have one of those. So if anything the Spur would have been far down the ladder when I was shopping. My car had 20K miles and is a 2012. The previous owner took great care of the car. No blemishes on the leather. In fact the rear seats look barely used. It has black piano wood and no scratches were on any of the panels. I've logged roughly 1000 miles since I picked it up 6 months ago, which is a miracle considering I try to rotate 7 cars daily/weekly. So far it's been perfect and it continues to grow on me. Again, not sure if it's something related to getting older, but I have a slight preference to a more comfortable ride than any of my two door sports cars. If there's one gripe, it's that you'll find yourself filling up at the gas station a lot more than you might like. At V-12 turbo motor moving nearly 5 tons will do that, though I doubt you'd find any dissatisfaction with the performance. Word of advice, most of the Ghosts I viewed were pretty decently maintained. Maybe just the nature of the clientele? So no need to buy brand new unless you absolutely have to have new and couldn't find your exact configuration on the 2nd hand market. The depreciation on a new one is a motherfucker and I didn't want any of that. Good luck in your search. There's truly nothing like the Ghost.
