Are those oz's on the red one?? Look way too 'not italian' at the rear...but probably help braking no end. Not sure about the ride though?? Apart from the spoiler & pipes, the black one looks bog standard...and nice...without the spoiler.. Whats with fcuking stickers on everything??????

Its not how tall you are thats an issue in a countach.....its your proportions. Some folk have long legs, others tall upper sections. Some a little of both. Im 6'3, and in mine I do have a problem...not because of being tall, my legs are fine, but because of my upper section. My head is on the ceiling unless I cock, or slouch. Long legs, or medium both, and I think you'll be fine. Not dissimilar to a lotus esprit s1/2/3... ps. If you're tall AND fat....look elsewhere!!

Ok, I had no idea ruf's follow the porsche trend of understating their outputs. Shame about the narrow bodies being so much quicker...am a huge fan of the ctr 2 'sport widebody' etc...I was hoping to buy one over the next year or so. What about the cgt though? DBK reckoned the weight was to no advantage when the cars are up to speed? Surely =hp but far less weight should mean a faster car? I should have concentrated more in physics at school!

Capable car but not a huge fan of the 996....exterior or interior. Prefer the 993tt which over here in europe are starting to fetch more money. No cab though!

Allan, you're always right in saying the mags mean nothing...which I wholeheartly agree with. In all the real long time comparisons ive seen, highway/airfiled runs etc..the G does not keep up with the 997tt beyond 100mph. The 430 gets absolutely destroyed. I didnt say the 997tt should or could keep up with your SLR?? Of course not!! It was just the many buslengths!! I do find the CGT vs SLR odd though, it should be quite a lot faster due the weight advantage...but isnt. Why do you think that is?? Ps. Again.why are the ruf's faster than just about anything also?? I believe the true test for ROAD cars, in europe at least, are the VMAX runs. Every car imaginable, hundreds at a time, driven to the absolute max on a 2.5 mile airfield runway, all day, side by side runs. The ruf's are always victorious. CGT's/SLR's/murcies do not keep up...ever. I hate to say it but the 996 gt2's, although not quite as fast (-8/10mph), give them a good race to max speed also...No Veyron as yet..but rumours are that its not too long coming. The current record holder is the 9ff porsche with 207 mph....followed by three rufs not too far behind.

If you are a good driver and like and/or can push through the twistys......leave the viper WELL alone. If you want to drive in the wet....leave the viper WELL alone. If you want a primitive sled which feels as though it has been knocked up by school children...with only one thing in mind...buy the viper. If you are having a middle aged crisis and have been temporarily blinded by hormone supplements...buy the viper. If you are into shaving your legs, but are generally lazy by nature, buy the viper and get in and out of it a lot after a 10 minute drive... saving yourself a fortune on razors. If your penis is too small....buy the viper. If you have a death wish...buy an early viper for those rainy day commutes. If you are a big Def Leppard fan, and wish to look like the drummer...buy the viper. If none of the above applies to you....buy the other one....its a little better.

Beautiful car Tony... The picture between black and red is a slight optical illusion due to the angle of the lens when the shot was taken..the black car seems much lower due to the amount of air grill visible over the red one...in fact I would imagine the actual difference is only a few mm.

Its not a G-competitor....its a 911 competitor....and however good it maybe....it wont compete.

The gt2 should be fun though......540hp / 550ft lbs / 1380kg vs SLR......617hp / 575ft lbs / 1798kg Mind you, on paper....the CGT should absolutely walk all over the SLR...roughly the same hp/ 475ft lbs /...but over 400kg lighter..but it doesnt- I dont get that.....I know Porsche are usually acurate if not understated in claims, but I wonder if anyone has dynoed their CGT to confirm the stats...because the CGT and SLR seem to equal each other out??

Hmm, from what I remember at the launch...and top gear....the 1001hp figures are with the engine running on 95octane and in temparatures exceeding 100 degrees or something similar. With 102 octane like we get here at certain pumps in the uk....and colder weather the standard output is closer to 1150hp anyway!

The stats show that its going to be much faster, and better, in all depts. than the sl.....big big shame. Not sure how it will fare against the gt2 (in the right hands)...have to wait and see how good that is. I agree with Allan.....if its not careful Lambo is going to fall fast and hard at this rate. Sl, a slightish improvement/reveetc.....POS. Sort it the fcuk out bologna boys.......
