  1. Definitely. Looks like someone with fcuk-you-money or at least trying to appear so. I love it.
  2. Just a matter of time until the 'big' one. I lived there for the World Series quake and that was pleeenty for me.
  3. A smashed pelvis will be a lifetime of punishment. It's like frame damage on an auto, you can rarely get a proper alignment even after repairs are made.
  4. They're so fun! I have a SBR'd suppressed 9mm AR that takes glock mags. With 147 gr subsonics, it's such a blast. One of my fav guns to shoot.
  5. I wouldn't sneeze at 2K, but I agree that the hassle to collect is probably not worth it. What kinda van are we talkin about, anyways? I have a similar situation where some tenants jacked me for about $1800 in rent. Do I spend $1500 in atty fees to pursue them? Financially that would be silly! But the fact that they bounced their check and straight bullshitted me about most everything makes me vindictive, and want to sue for a judgement 'on principle'. So I feel where you're coming from. I bet the farther removed we get from this, the less you care about it all. That's usually how it works!
  6. I still don't get it, but.... if you wife drove into the curb, and the actual impact from the other vehicle didn't leave so much as a scratch, then I'd say you're SOL. Besides, if the women in my life are any example, your wife is likely to ding the wheels the next time she parallel parks, anyways!
  7. Nobody ever learns. You guys should all shut your dirty mouths until we verify that RB has not bought one.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Visions of WWE silliness dancing in my head.
  9. Does it have to be fixed? If it's just a rattle, then maybe ignoring it is the lesser evil. With holding the technical details makes it tough to know. It sounds like you got "screwed". It's interesting to wonder if that "screw" stays with you, or gets levied onto your insurance company, an unsuspecting buyer, etc. Hence all the anonymity, perhaps. Buying used cars is a minefield sometimes. Yikes.
  10. Well that seems a fair bit more sane than their Tattoo promo several years ago!
  11. There are all sorts of cool and potentially dangerous things over here - 1500HP street cars, Machine guns, weed, giant fake boobs, all you can eat buffets, etc etc /Murica
  12. Yeah! Cheap AR's are fine unless you're competing in an ARFcom dick measuring contest. Heck, of the guys I shoot with, the "fancy" AR's are more prone to issues than the cheapies. I am not enough of an aficionado to want to deal with unnecessary stoppages - it just needs to go bang every time. In an AR, I'll gladly trade 1/2 MOA (or whatever) for reliability.
  13. Ah, yes, the good ole days. I remember doing the SoCal series - prerun on day one, then sleep in the back of my SUV, in the SS parking lot! Then up early for day two, race day. -1 for talking about Emily but not posting a pic.
  14. Yeah that's some big stuff. I started to back off that type of riding as I realized my invincibility levels dropping. AKA: no longer in my 20's!
  15. So true. I built a Mossy 500 AOW a few years ago. It's a definitely a novelty gun, but for a $5 tax stamp, why not??
  16. Move over, Dan Bilzerian... We have our own bearded camo pants wearin movie star, and he's actually legit. Ah darn; didn't know if a fixed mag was a legal workaround. Too many laws to keep track of!
  17. You should build an AR with a permanently attached Beta mag!
  18. Seems they've already gone beyond that with "stop and frisk".

    Tesla...

Well sure, but the point is that you can't use that fancy hardware without first taking your eyes away from whatever else you are doing. The steering wheel programming is pretty slick and could be a good solution.

    Tesla...

To those who've driven one, is the touchscreen a "safety" issue? In my DD Rover I know where all the controls are and operate them all by touch, without having to take my eyes off the road. Seems like operating a giant Ipad while driving would be somewhat sketchy.
  21. Saigas are imported as a sporting rifle. The do not have a pistol grip and only include a 5 round mag. Google "Saiga converted and unconverted". It's technically a boring ole bird gun that falls under the same rules as any clays/bird gun. Once it's imported, there's nothing (federally, at least) preventing the end user from converting it into a scary pistol grip configuration and attaching higher capacity mags. I have done this a couple times myself, and even converted one to an 10" SBS, similar to the Tromix guns.
  22. It's fine unless you have a princess gun! It's true that it can be dirtier.
  23. Well I guess I am assuming that he doesn't keep 50M in his BofA checking account earning 0.0001%. Heck, even the S&P is up ~10% over the last 5 yr, 20%+ over the last 1 year... and if you have 50M to work with you're probably not just dumping it all into an index fund. You probably have a financial adviser or three. My point is that it takes very little investing skill to make good returns during the bull run since '08. Seems that most of his glitz is rented or free. It's not his house (rented), it's not his boat (borrowed?), it's not his chopper or jet (rented, borrowed, ?), etc etc. So his monthly over head is pretty high, but 5M/yr goes pretty far. He can spend a little over 400K per month and not even touch his principle. Assuming he's really even got 50M. Who knows...
  24. $50M spins off $5M/year in interest alone. That's assuming he doesn't make a dime from poker or whatever else he's into. Heck, with the recent bull market, that annual figure probably exceeds $10M. I don't know how long that lifestyle is sustainable with that type of money, but I would be willing to try it out! But yeah, Oz is quite expensive from what I've heard.
  25. I had one for a few years, back when I lived in KA. It shot great for a little guy. I ran mostly FMJs though it and it functioned remarkably well.... but silvertips were the anti-human round of choice, back then. There's surely newer/fancier self defense ammo out there now. They are quite concealable and many people just carry them in a pocket holster. As I recall, I sold it when I was leaving the state, since grandfathered pistols command a premium in KA. I did the same with my .50 Desert Eagle.
