  1. Don't want to derail the thread. This is way off. LFA does lots of great things. Fit and finish better than any Ford product ever. May not be the fastest but it's worth every penny.
  2. Sorry. I read the thread title and thought it was about people that love the Countach.
  3. I have a brand new front clip for a 2013 GTR for sale. It came with my 2013 black edition as the original one had a small scratch on the bottom from delivery. Unfortunately I have no interest in shipping it so someone close to Houston is best. I think list was $600 -800 or somewhere in that range. Make me an offer and pm if interested
  4. Well, gonna give he Rapide a try. Bought a 2014 S. Sorry for the crappy I phone pic
  5. Not sure what the SVs are doing but took this screen shot yesterday. Yikes!! Of course, don't know what the GTOs are actually selling for.
  6. Hey guys, anyone have a Rapide S? Need a new sedan and was considering one. Looking for something a little unique as a daily driver. Before you suggest it I have no interest is a Merc,BMW or Audi. Not that I don't like them but I have had them and want to travel a different road. Don't need the fastest or highest tech, just a cool car to have as a DD. Also considering a Panamera or FF. Preowned Aston or FF has already taken a shitload of depreciation. Any thoughts are welcome.
  7. I like all the replies. Certainly some have strong opinions and that's a good thing. I thought about buying the SV after selling my Diablo SV. Roy had a Monterey blue one that was terrific, but I wanted something different than I had previously. I really fell in love with the GTO after hearing it and driving it. Whether it deserves the GTO name I could care less. Ferrari calls it that and that's good enough for me. I am not a Ferrari fan boy but I get treated like a king at the Ferrari dealership here.
  8. I know this is pure speculation but what are folks thoughts about values of these 2 cars in the next 5-10 years. Is one a safer bet? I think they are both great cars but just so different.
  9. I find reasons to drive my cars. LFA bought new and in 6 months it has 3500 miles. Starbucks, Home Depot, wife tells me to go to mailbox, whatever. I just like driving it. Nice thing is that it is not a chore to drive. The Diablo SV was different. Needed to have a place to go that was far enough to make it worthwhile. I think most exotics don't have miles because, as stated before, owners have multiple cars to drive.
  10. Yes. There is a gent from Austin, JTSE 30, who had regular windows installed in his yellow SE30. I believe it was done at the factory
  11. This. If they don't know you then a phone call may not do you justice. Go visit, when they see your a good guy they will probably let you drive it. That's been my experience at most dealers. Except when I went to drive a new Z 06. They said no way
  12. Amy is great. Andrew recommended her couple years ago. They insure my GTO and LFA.
  13. I would love it to be Watt. He is a great ambassador for Houston. Of course since I live here I might be biased.
  14. Out and about in the GTO. Road trip in the LFA with a stop at Sonic
  15. Agree. Trip to your PCP or urgent care is in order. I know spec ops guys are cool but prob not the greatest for medical advice
  16. That's the beauty of that price range. Many choices . You find what you like best and what stirs your soul and if after a while you get bored you move on. At highway speeds (80-85 here in Texas) the lfa is a bit louder at that particular rev range. More noise from the exhaust. But I think they planned it that way. With windows down and in light city traffic the gto seems more noticeable in the cabin.
  17. This has been a long time coming. Drove both today for 45 minutes back to back. Now be forewarned I am not a track guy or race driver in any sense of the word. Just enjoy leisurely drives in unique cars. First off the LFA is smaller than the gto in dimension. Sitting next to each other in the garage the lfa is shorter and lower than the gto. Ingress is a little more difficult in the lfa although the door opens wider than the gto. The drivers bolster in the lfa is larger to get around. The leather has some minor scuffing already having put 2200 miles on it. Maybe that being 6'2" is part of the problem. Fit and finish is nicer in the lfa and more modern and digital. The gto has a much more analogue feel. The cockpit in the lfa is much more confined and I feel more really connected to the car. The gto sits up a little higher and in some ways is a bit more comfortable as I am not on the floor as much. The gto cockpit is very roomy comparatively. A little more figgity to start the lfa but both come to life on startup readily. The lfa is much quieter on startup than the gto which has a much more raucous bark. I cannot get out of the garage early in the am with the gto without creating a lot more noise. Hence the wife prefers I take the lfa on early weekend drives. The nav and radio in the Lexus are much more intuitive and more functional than the Ferrari. The iPod hookup is way better in the Lexus. Not surprising. The one irritant about the lfa is that in order to go from reverse to first you have to pull both paddles in to change gears. Kind of a PIA if I have a cup of coffee as I have to put it in my lap to get going. Once up and running the biggest difference is the transmission. The lfa is light years behind the gto. The lfa is noisy and reminds me of my old GTR although even slower. The paddles in the gto are larger and feel much more exotic. The gto tranny is really terrific although I have not driven the newer double clutches. The lfa feels and steers heavier at slow speeds. The magnetic ride in the gto seems a bit cushy when I initially get going but firms up nicely. The gto has a much more responsive feel and just seems to steer much quicker than the LFA but for just cruising the highway the heavier feel of the lfa imparts a sense of stability that is more reassuring to a non track enthusiast like myself. Under full acceleration the gto is way faster but also much easier to get the rear end loose, seems more skittish but probably requires a higher level of expertise to drive at the limit than the lfa. The sounds under full acceleration are both magnificent but entirely different. The gto just has a throatier bark whereas the lfa just shrieks at 9000 rpm. It is clear that Lexus engineered the sound as it really enhances the driving experience the way they piped it in the cockpit. With the incredible sound of the lfa I just wish it has another 100 horsepower. It is really cool how they are front mid engined cars but are so different in every way. I get more looks and thumbs up across a much broader demographic in the lfa. Probably because there are so few around and the gto looks like every other 599. The lfa though needs a larger gas tank as the 17 or 18 gallon tank ain't enough for road trips without stopping frequently. The gto 27 gallon is much more pleasing. Well those are a few on my thoughts. Sorry for the length but wanted to cram all the things I was thinking. If anyone has questions I am happy to answer. The gto is the long term will be a better financial outcome but I have never made money on a car so if I do it will be a first. For those that poo poo the lfa I think it is worth every penny I paid although it wasn't close to sticker price.
  18. Great thread. Feel like I am traveling too. Keep it coming.
