  1. Hi Roman, This may help removal next time, Jason got his kids to remove the bolsters and there are a couple of pics on his blog that may help. http://lp5000.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/remov...d-dash-and.html
  2. 4X CHAMP, I still suspect the diodes, a faulty switch will not usually cause that , do they both wink or only one, because each motor most lightly has a parking position like a windscreen wiper, in that case I would suspect the contacts or the pcb they wipe across inside the motor assembly has failed, so they don't park, does the motor arm turn 360 degrees or does it reverse, some reverse and some just travel the pivot point through 360 deg. Sorry I don't have that answer for a Countach , maybe someone else can answer that.
  3. If you disconnect one end from the motor terminals they should measure about 30 ohms with a multi meter but only in one direction, if you get the same resistance both ways then they have failed.
  4. Hi 4xchamp, I did hear some time ago that if there is a diode connected across either the motor or relay if that fails the lights will blink up and down. I suspect the diode is somewhere across the winding of the relay to prevent the back emf from retripping the relay, I used to fit them across car horns to prevent them from retriggering a car alarm connected to the horns. so it could also be in the adjacent wiring to the relay, but I would normally expect it to be directly across the back of the headlight motor, some I have seen are internal to the relay, but as you say if you have replaced the relay I suspect the diode is external in the wiring nearby.
  5. Hi They always have a small metal clip to attach the handle, this can be removed with a special metal tool, or if you don't have one a small piece if cheese cloth or muslin wrapped around behind the handle and gently rotated and tugged on will usually remove the clip

  8. If I was getting an exhaust made for a Countach, these guys in japan would be building it, just listen to the old boring Merc 120 wow http://thegarage.jalopnik.com/how-to-make-...onda-1611782156
  9. Hi Romandad, I read somewhere on another Lambo forum its caused by a bad diode that's connected across the motor input or at the relay , if the diode fails there is nothing to stop the back emf of the motor from powering the relay the wrong way , so sending the motor in the other direction. I had a similar problem with a car alarm years ago, the back emf of the horn coil caused the alarm to self trigger I fitted a diode and the problem was sorted. this site will help you get the diode the right way around the cathode is usually marked with a white line so if you fit a new one the same way around you should be good , you can test the current one by lifting one end, with a multimeter it should read about 30ohms one way and nothing the other, hope this helps. http://www.talkingelectronics.com/projects...de%20Works.html
  10. Guys what I see is a fire damaged car, the rear firewall is all alloy and should be fiberglass like this, even the floor and front panels around your feet are not original, the engine cover looks remade, and what happened to the boot cover , the seats are bare, and the front guard on the drivers side has also been repaired, and why is it sitting so high up, almost like it has no shocks or springs something not right there, someone will buy it but not me, start running away unless you have really deep pockets.
  11. Hi Peter, these are all I have they, came from Alberts restoration, maybe he has more he could post. Hope they help Best Regards Graeme
  12. Looks like you just got in in time, this news could mean a flood of cheap Countach's in the near future, guys get your cheque books ready, not good news again for the world economies http://www.moneynews.com/MKTNewsIntl/stock...medium=referral

  15. Hands up those who would like their Murchielago, Aventador, or Gallardo, to sound like this. http://brilliant-exhaust.com/lamborghini/#64
  16. The sound is awesome, love it, I assume that's with no mufflers at all, I take it you have you not yet fitted the resonators you bought. You mention the new headers are 1/4 ' bigger do you know the new size. Usually increasing the pipe size reduce the bottom end torque a little, does it still have the torque down low when driving it, as a seat of the pants accessment, you mention that it seems to rev better at the top end, but that can also reduce the bottom end a little, do you feel the bottom end is better also.
  17. No Allan, was not me, I can only hope that day will come soon, from everything I have read on buying a Countach over the years, it is not a good idea to buy sight unseen or you could end up with a container full of scrap being shipped to you, when I buy one it will be a trip to Europe for a RHD or the Usa and basically wait to view the right car, have you heard anything on the Countach that Hershey bought and ended up a nightmare, did someone fix it up, it looks like they may have needed deep pockets, if they could not do the work themselves, these cars are getting old now and even a good one will need some expensive TLC.
  18. Guys with that rule if you are bidding on your dream car, from the other side of the world in New Zealand, there is no point because even if you win the seller can still reject your bid, we have http://www.trademe.co.nz/ and if you bid on something and win it, it is a legally binding contract no matter what, to me a auction is exactly that, the highest bidder wins. So there goes my chance of ever owning a Countach.
  19. hi Emilio, I spotted a set of these in my travels would they be of use. http://www.ebay.de/itm/1983-Lamborghini-Co...=item4d1b8a63a6

  24. HI , If it was me I would hang a right at Utah, and head over to Esters Park in Colorado, I visited in 1988, well worth the visit up to the look out at the top of Esters park you are something like 5 miles up awesome views, and a great drive through the mountains, Especially in a Countach highly recommended and I am from New Zealand, where all our South Island mountain views are just breath taking. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g60945-...-Vacations.html Or leave the car in the shed and come visit New Zealand http://experiencequeenstown.com/
