  1. More than anything I am trying to question and understand the logic for it from the viewpoint of the parent company and the marque itself and market place.
  2. What I am trying to say is that they showed the Revention, everyone went wow - for whatever reason. The Revention is this centuries version of the Countach. Say what you like about it is definitely special in the design stakes. Lambo showed that they can still do crazy but next thing to be shown is a 2+2. I mean if you want that in a car then please click here I too respect your opinion and other people on here too but what the hell is a 2+2 car doing in a sports brand? Look at how well the 612 sells. To me it is a step backwards, we can produce this neck turning vehicle but next up we are giving the sports car equivalent of a MPV. It is like going out with two Victoria Secret models and then dumping them for a Soccer mom.
  3. The styling does not point at classy or discrete though does it? 2+2 to me means Lambo are diluting themselves to appease the politically correct-eco-whingers. Yes there is a history there but it is history which is why they chose to go for the Revention rather than push through the Miura concept. By going towards a multi-occupancy vehicle it just reeks of a stab at practicality - not something I want from a sports car brand and how heavy is a 2+2 with 4wd going to be? They should be looking at creating lighter vehicles with more efficent powerplants.
  4. And not to be outdone Ferrari "leak" this letter http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ferrari-fx150-letter/1043647/ What I don't get is no company I know of writes a letter to no one in particular, writes it with a huge handful of marketing speak which is signed by the CEO and marked Top Secret.
  5. Dont hang about do you! Make sure you thank the photographer for providing one of the most unhelpful photos ever!
  6. Right my only sensible input into this unnecessarily elongated thread of wild guesses. First off styling. Lambo released the controversially styled Revention, air craft styling with a mish mash of LED and speckly paint. The styling cues were used in the LP560 to produce a good looking car. EVO magazine's article (Click here ) on the LP560's launch included some quotes from Lambo designer Manfred Fitzgerald "Designer Manfred Fitzgerald says the idea is to make the Gallardo look wider and flatter, because Lamborghinis should be wide and flat. He also thinks LEDs can be over-used and has tried to keep these discreet. Helped by a new rear diffuser, the revised body shape gives 32 per cent more downforce to give a total of 20kg on the front wheels and 50kg on the rears at full chat. " Now examine the believe he has for Lambos to be wide and flat, these are not characteristics that would make for a good looking 2+2. Now lets look at the VAG and the platforms on offer because to me this the tell-tale signs of what is going to be going on they will not sanction products that will completely tread on each others toes. Winkelmann has previously discounted a 4x4 and additionally he has added that Lambo will be a two model company. So with that in mind can you imagine Lambo only selling the LP560 and the V12 flagship model is a 2+2 tourer? The only "sporty" 4 door out in production is Bentley and that is lux and not pure sport like Lamborghini are. So the only big thing in the VW pipeline that I can think off is the Porsche Panamera. Now lets look at the shape of it in spy shots Now taking the comments that the designer has said does the above look like Lambo material? Then you have the rear Exhaust placement is nothing like the released picture. Then you have the fact that Porsche would not allow a "brand below them" to steal their thunder with a tourer especially as Porsche's competitor Aston Martin is looking to release a saloon like V12. So no platform sharing imo which means that Lambo would have to develop a new car (which would tread on big daddy Porsche's toes so they would not sign off the huge budget required) and we would have seen it testing. The only Lambo we have spotted being tested is... http://www.germancarblog.com/2008/04/lambo...y-shots-of.html http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/15/spy-sho...ago-sv-snapped/ However I doubt we will see a SV - the Gallardo SL did not sell as well as expected depending on who you talk to. I think we will see a lighter reskinned Murcie with 4 wheel drive and Revention hints, a few BHP under 700BHP.
  7. My vote is that it will be a vehicle of some sort with a Lamborghini badge.
  8. Talking of Germans and the German language. "the Germans put up a sign saying "Gott Mit Uns" which means "God is with us". So we put up a sign in English saying "We Got Mittens Too". I don't know if they enjoyed that joke"
  9. How official is this pic? What with your username on the bottom of the pic. Also as a side note my cousin is going to be one of the bits of skirt on one of the VW stands in Paris.
  10. Comforting to know http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7616622.stm They were warned on the security of their network 6 months ago, last month, last week, before the weekend and now they have been hacked. Nothing like people that react quickly to security concerns.
  11. 11 LP640s for sale on the Autotrader website. 3 of which are Roadsters. 17 does seem a bit low but I am not knocking Simon or anything like that.
  12. "Aliens stole my limbs... yeah I am online typing with a headwand...."
  13. Didn't he have a hummer as an avatar? What was the outcome with the ownership details - memory abit hazy - wasn't he logging on via his girlfriend's laptop due to his PC conveniently not working therefore no pictures blah blah dog ate my keyboard...
  14. I thought Skokos had the same grin in every pic - check this out http://www.nnuploads.com/files/59/wtfasian.gif
  15. Ha ha There is a huddle of complete boffins crowded around this single monitor... waiting... waiting.... The international assembly of white coats, pens in the top pocket collectively scratching their heads. The French scientist turns to the American and Russian scientist asking if they had double checked their stations were set up correctly... a wall of oui oui, yes, da da etc returns back. Several calculations and recalculations follow, people checking their sums, did they carry that one over? Then the cleaner unplugs his vacuum cleaner and puts the spare plug he took out five minutes ago back into the socket. On the screen the professors are gathered around a message pops up "level 1 complete"
  16. Being an arsehole lets you get into their arsehole. You just have to judge it right, as you seem young it comes with time and practise, if you really want to be a nerd about it read Neil Strauss's book The game to get you some pointers but don't take it all to heart. But seriously I hope you read this thread in two years time you will hate yourself for coming across like a complete bed wetter.
  17. Hello Jonny, another lurker from PH. Lovely new purchase btw but just out of interest I am assuming that you have had a look at the Black/Black SLR at Romans? It has been on sale for awhile and wondered what is wrong with it - just asking out of curiosity mind.
  18. Who owns Bugatti? Oh thats right a company that churns out hundreds of thousands of cars a year. Exclusive is not known to them, profit is though. So it is no surprise that they wish to pounce on sales chances at every chance especially given the current economic climate. Even if Bugatti was an independent like Pagani I would still understand the need to produce more cars to meet the demand - they are a business afterall. The Veyron is not exclusive because of numbers produced but because of its price. - Only Fanboys care about the numbers produced and we all known that fanboys are worse than AIDs. The thing that will affect owners is running costs. I read that tyres need to be replaced every 3,000 miles at €9000 and that the rims need to be replaced every 9000 miles to stay within warranty (€55,000 to replace) So in 9000 miles (which can be done in a year no sweat) on tyres only you will be spending €82000 or $120,695.03. That is a sizeable percentage of the purchase price for only one mechanical aspect of the car, what are brakes and discs going to cost? What about the mechanicals on that wing. What about the changing of the rads? People dismiss these figures saying that people that can afford to buy these cars will not care about these running costs... that is an utterly stupid thing to say, they will.
  19. I have a gorilla called Pete. But these two bastards came along with a freezer and I have not seem him since.
