  1. I'd be interested in this info as well. Have a newborn and the wife is bugging me to buy a new SUV. We have a BMW X3 which is now too small when you consider the caravan of stuff that accompanies the baby. I love the look of the G but not certain it would give her any extra space inside. Just now starting to do research.
  2. I have a Murcie in Monterey Blue and have been waiting anxiously for the color to show up on the Aventador. Just like with mine, I'm sure the pictures do not do the color justice. But pictures will have to do for now...it may be years before I actually see the MB in person. Call me crazy, but I even think there is a slight difference between the older (mine is a 2003) and the newer cars (mine looks a little more purple in some light - at least to me). I wonder if its a spot on match? Hmmmm. Regardless, it looks pretty sweet! A little OT....but mine is currently at Studio 47 and is getting a full detail by Todd Cooperider - will post pics in a seperate thread when it gets home!
  3. My Murcie is at Studio 47 now. Getting a full service by Craig and complete detail inside/outside by Todd. I have very high expectations - and so far my expectations have been met. I'll post up my experience when the car makes it home. As far as MAG goes, I too think Parker is a great guy but I wont take my Lambo there again for many of the reasons mentioned already. So far I'm pleased with their work on my Porsche and plan on doing the routine service there soon. Wish me luck on that one...
  4. I'd tip. For me it always depends on distance and service. If I know I will be using the guy again, I tip a little more, particularly if he has done a great job (on time, car's clean, is obvious he is careful loading/unloading).
  5. Probably one of the dumbest things I have ever done....traded my '96 993TT (Polar Silver)...5k miles, for about $70k about five years ago. Was an awesome car. $119k for the one at MGMSL. Fcuk I'm a dumb ass....
  6. My first Lambo was a 2008 G w/ E gear. I was so totally bored out of my mind! For the routine driving I do 99% of the time I just did not feel connected to the car. Now, on the track, it would def be the way to go. But otherwise, the Egear did nothing for me. Traded it for a 2003 Murcie. Why this one? Found it to be VERY clean and cared for....6-speed in Blue Monterey, the perfect combo in my mind...and I remain thrilled with the car.
  7. Its been my experience (limited to some degree) but dealerships have not cornered the market on good mechanics. In fact, I've had more luck finding high quality independent guys. I've had PPI's and basic service performed by mechanics at dealerships and the things they miss makes you wonder if they even looked at the car. Moral of the story - assuming a dealer is the best place for anything provides they buyer with a false sense of security. JMHO.
  8. Not to be too personal, but what did this set you back? I have an 03 and would consider when I get a few more miles. Thanks.
  9. How well does aftermarket power coating hold up when the tires are changed?
  10. Hey Kevin! Nice to "see" you again. Yeah, I'm driving it but not as much as I'd like (work work work). Planning on driving more in 2012 but will need to add a car seat One of these days maybe I'll have you find me a Monterey Blue Aventador. You know someone will order one..... (sorry for the hijack).
  11. A little OT - but when I first saw pics of the door angle I was not sure I liked it. So used to the Murcie. These pics, particularly from the rear/right side, are just awesome. Now, if I can only get one in Monterey Blue I could convince the wife (in about five years....)
  12. I have it on about 50% of my Murcie and you really have to look hard to see where it it vs where it is not. So it is well worth it. However, installation is key. DO NOT get pieces. Get a guy that can overwrap the edges. My previous G was pieces....and looked like crap. My current DD had pieces on it when I bought and I'm going to take it off this summer. So only difference between a YES and a NO is, you guessed it, proper installation of the correct product. Oh, and one more thing....have him do the very bottom front lip in a separate piece (you cant see it) so that when you eventually scrape the bottom (and you will) it can be replaced easily rather than redo the entire front end.
  13. Well, its def red I know very little about Vettes.....but thought they were very fast but only in a straight line. I know you are going to track it so it must hold its own. Looking forward to seeing it this Spring! Congrats!!
  14. Funny. My love affair with sports cars started with the 928 when i was in Jr. high school. So these cars are no more....just like our light bulbs come tomorrow morning. Love the gov....
  15. I've had the same problem. Mine was a function of not blinking....too much time on the computer results in staring rather than normal blinking as you otherwise would do normally. My eye doc told me to take a break ever hour or so, even if its just for a moment. Look off into the distance...refocus on something far away. Also, OTC eye drops may help (which seems counter intuitive since your eyes are watering). All this worked for me but its really hard to take these little breaks. Good luck.
  16. Funny. As I was watching the video I thought it was a typical C&C in Pittsburgh. But seriously....it is soooo cool just to see the Man get out of his car - I can't imagine what it must have been like on a drive with him. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Very nice. Will you track it? I took my C2S to the track - tons of fun - but the highligt was a ride in a very sweet RS 3.8. Do you know if the only difference is the engine - or are there suspension changes as well?
  18. I once owned a 96 993TT. Car was still pretty raw and silly fast. Any speed >130 felt like the front was going airborne. Should never have sold it. Now I have a 997 PDK as a daily driver. Its fine.... much more "refined" so the wife likes it. And soon to have a baby seat in it! What really surprised me was the Murci is about the same length as the 911. Much wider of course, but seeing them side/side in the garage was a shocker to me. Guess I should have known from the stats...but I didn't. I will consider the new 911 in the future simply because its bigger...kind of sad really.
  19. OK. Two from last weeks C&C (and a sweet Aventador) and an older one with my plate.... Thanks for the first two pics Carol !!!
