Tesla was a person with a brilliant mind but minimal people skills who found solace in his work. He was someone who it seems had an incredible imagination, but also was somewhat strange. It is reputed that he "married" the pigeon, and received inspiration for his ideas from the pigeon. Reportedly when the pigeon died he "lost" his abilit to imagine and lost the will to continue inventing. He did not lust for wealth; an example being the fact that when Westinghouse aquired his some of his patents they did not have enough money to pay him what they promised. He agreed to a deferred payment, however when it came time to pay the amount owed would have bankrupted the company at which point he refuded payment. Tesla was so far beyond his time that were he alive today he would still be 50-100 years ahead of his (current) time.
