StoleIt Report post Posted August 31, 2009 It was a BBC documentary. Only relation to Top Gear is James May is the host. I've met a number of U-2 pilots and they are an awesome bunch.

Roman Report post Posted September 1, 2009 Theres a neat U2 story I heard one time..... Based on the source I assume its legit.... The pilot had a flame out over Colorado, and couldnt get the engine relit.... So he glided to a successful emergency landing..... In California. Cabbe Report post Posted September 1, 2009 So how does it keep stable after landing? On takeoff it has the little wheels under the wings, but what happens when it slows down after landing? Can it just keep its balance with the small wheels under the fuselage?
ts640 Report post Posted September 1, 2009 So how does it keep stable after landing? On takeoff it has the little wheels under the wings, but what happens when it slows down after landing? Can it just keep its balance with the small wheels under the fuselage? The tips of the wings are made out of titanium. Eventually when it is moving slow enough the aircraft tips to one side, moving on the main wheels wheels/skid until it slows to rest. When it is at rest the ground crew installs the pogos. The pogos are the axillary wheels that fall off upon take off. U-2 is awesome.
