capt_chaos Report post Posted August 17, 2011 Lower back, just to right of my spine now. Initially it was a blanket area across the lower part preventing all movement, now I get sharp shooting precise pain when I walk but I have had a heat pad on all day. Bastard pain, I am missing my rugby season start
topcabron Report post Posted August 17, 2011 did you do something to create the pain, or did you just wake up one morning and it ws there? The area sounds like the L1 or L2 region if its your back. Are you sure its not your kidney. You could have something other than back pain in that area.
IbnRushd Report post Posted August 17, 2011 Is your mattress getting old or needs to be flipped/switched around? It could also be that, or if you're under a lot of stress.

Bastard pain, I am missing my rugby season start I have this pain, my physiotherapist has given me back exercises to strengthen the muscle but Im hoping to lose weight and get rid of this beer gut to fix the problem. I found that a heating pad felt good while it was on but didn't help at all after it was removed. For me the pain leaves when I lie on my back. robax platinum will take the edge off the pain

The last thing you want is to have this be the start of something that never goes away. Chronic back pain is debilitating as hell, and will prevent you from ingress/egress from your Lambo. And nobody needs that.

JP66 Report post Posted August 17, 2011 I had a back issue as well...actually still do. I ended up going to the doctor and he said oh, your fine, just do stretching and stay somewhat active. Then a month latter I saw a different doctor, had an MRI done and found out I had a bulged disc. Was given a steroid medication for 9 days which was great. I also continued to exercise and do the stretches. It has helped somewhat, but hoping the disc will slip back into place. An MRI is the best way to get a definite answer. Good luck. jim501 Report post Posted August 17, 2011 I've got problems in the L4/5/S1 region and I find planks really good, even though it hurts to start with. Also a big fan of acupuncture. Not so much of chiro as I didn't have these problems when I started going to the chiro for a neck issue, so a bit wary of returning. The best thing I find is stretching my hamstrings and hip flexors, crazy as it sounds. I get day where I will have tightness in the lower back and it will rise up my back and end up as a massive headache and this is nearly always solved by a really long stretching session. capt_chaos Report post Posted August 17, 2011 Been seating at work with two heat pads (they are the work of the devil) and downing ibuprofen like skittles, will ride the week out and see a back quack when I am off next week. Blooming hurts like hell and makes me walk like I have filled my nappy.
capt_chaos Report post Posted August 17, 2011 I have been suffering with inflexible hamstrings lately so much so that I had to stop training and work specifically on them. Of course it means I am missing the start of the rugby season.

Rabbit360 Report post Posted August 19, 2011 I have been suffering with inflexible hamstrings lately Thats probably whats done it then! (maybe...........) I'm going through lower back pain at the moment, been doing lots of stretches, a bit of yoga or body balance (as it's called in Oz) classes/moves have helped me heaps. This guy is good and quick to the point. This girl is sorta helpful and awfully hot Best of luck with it, as with any stretching take it easy and do it consistently.
