I talked to Brian at SuperCars and he serviced the car - all checks out. I know Mark at Hubbard and he is a great guy! I left Mark a message today but sounds like he is out of town. I will take it for a test drive and just want to get your thoughts on the car, mods (like/dislike) and what I should offer for the car (I will have to pay 8.95 % tax above price). Thank you in advance for your input/help! Here is the link to the car: http://www.hubbardautocenter.com/detail-20...ed-9451005.html

Extremely low miles for an 04 , looks very clean and love the HREs..Bad news is its an egear ..I'd definitely get a PPI , 2004 e-gears had issues.

Get the clutch wear measured.

Good luck!

Good to know Jeff! I think Brian replaced the clutch a year ago. What type of e-gear issues could I have? I had a 2004 G before but manual so no problems with that one.

Never had an e-gear, but almost bought one awhile back and there were the two items that stuck in my mind. 1.IIRC, the hydraulic hoses should have been replaced under TSB.

2. Also, you'd want the updated clutch, which it most likely has if it has been replaced.

We all know Brian's a straight shooter, so I'd trust his word if he's vouching for it.

As for the mods, I can't say there's anything there I (personally) would avoid doing. The bumper, HRE's, exhaust and matte clear are all high-ticket items. '04's did not come with glass bonnet and I paid nearly $10k (bonnet/paint/labor) to do it to my '04 using all factory parts. All told this car definitely has over $20k in tasteful mods.

I've heard the Supercar Specialist exhaust on several Gallardos and it sounds amazing. :icon_thumleft:

The only thing I would do is lower it, which you can do on the stock coilovers.

As for the price, I can't speak on the market. A lot of folks might argue that these cars can be had in the $80's, but those are all high-mileage cars with no extras or, worse, those nasty chrome 3-piece rims that were popular 8 years ago.

Looking at asking prices on Autotrader and ebay, I'd say the asking price is within range for cars with comparable mileage, but I don't see any with these kind of (tasteful) mods.

The Gallardo looks good Charlie! It'll be great to get back into a Lambo. Hope all works out for you, and hope to see it out soon! If there's anything I can do, let me know!

Charlie, why do you want it? Also have you driven it? The 04 egear box is archaic

:iamwithstupid: jerky shifts, it just feels bad, drive it first

IMHO....on an 04 car MODS are just like a swimming pool in a house...they help to sell the car faster at maybe a slightly higher price but not what they are asking here at $109k . This car is almost 10 yrs old now and I think the mileage whether it is 9000 or 25000 it does not matter as long as it is not 50,000-60,000+ miles. To me the age of the car is the biggest downside in this deal as it is now at a point in it's mechanical life when major components COULD fail. I would mentally keep $10k ready for repairs and offer $96k firm.

If this was a manual 6 speed I would be less concerned. I am also concerned about the really low miles...How many previous owners?? If it is 4-5 previous owners then I am not believing this mileage...

BUT again like I said whether it is 9000 miles or 25000 miles it does not matter with this nearly 10 yrs old car....The 04 is the central issue of this deal :)

Nice mods, personally I wouldn't touch any early e gear. Doesn't work very well, plus they are prone to fail. At 109k, you are close to getting an 06 with all the updates.

What's up with all the "early E-gear" stuff? The hardware didn't change significantly (if at all) until at least '08, right (and that may have been just on the SL)? The issue was the early software and clutches were crap, but virtually all the cars have been upgraded since then (although that should be verified by the buyer). I don't think there is any noticeable difference between an '04 with the newer software and clutch and say an '07. Yes, there are always some potential additional problems with the E-gear system (some have had leaks at the quick-release fitting on the hydraulic hose or the aluminum block it's attached to), but again I don't think that potential issue is confined to the '04's.

I would only buy an early Gallardo in a 6spd. And at 109K you are in 2006 territory.. Ive even seen some SE's for 110k.

Okay, thank you for all your feedback! Allan, if you see anything that would be a good buy please let me know! I will drive it when Mark is back in town and confirm with Brian that the software update is done for the e-gear. I know the newer clutch is in the vehicle.

Assman - just looking to get another driver and this vehicle looks right for me with the mods. Will keep you posted.

I can go on the gay side and do a 2005 430...but I like the Lambo's more...thoughts on this...http://www.scottsdaleferrari.com/detail-2005-ferrari-f430-2dr_cpe_berlinetta-used-10318222.html

BTW, my cousin did a PPI on this car:

http://www.hubbardautocenter.com/detail-20...d-10032207.html

clean car, needs tires, clutch at 60%, they were at $119k on it, then the seller made some unreasonable request that the money had to be paid in 24 hours while my cousin was out of town, so my cousin said forget it and bought an F430 a couple weeks later...

No, not the TT car. I just talked to Brian and it does have the software update and Brian did state that it will still be a little more clunkly than the 2006 or newer G's which have different gearing that helped. Brian did state the software update makes a big difference and the new clutch.

FikSEGTS - I like that one but need to then do tires, exhaust, and wrap it. I honestly can't stand yellow - too loud for me. I have a yellow and black Camaro and hate the color! So for that specific car I would have to do $2k in tires, $3k in exhaust (???), and $3k (???) in a 3M wrap. It is worth considering and will think about it. I will discuss with the dealer and see where we are at difference wise with those cars and see if it is worth the upgrade and doing the mods to the 2006.

I'd go for 06+ for all of the reasons listed above.

PS Hubbard should make their font size bigger or bolder on the listing so it stands out more :-p

exhaust and wrap can wait... :) the SE does have the blacked out roof, mirriors and titanaium wheels.... good looking car, the loud colors will be easier to sell when it's time...

Okay, I will drive the 2006 and 2004 that Mark has and see the difference in the e-gear. These are my options I am considering right now...

1. Gallardo

2. Ferrari 430

4. 2003-2004 Murcie

I like the G at Hubbards because it is my style and everything is done that I would do to the car and at a price point that is a no brainer for me.

I am also considering a Ferrari 430 with the Nero DS color ext.

those guys are so hard on the car it will never sell... tried to make a deal on it months ago.... said he had 'multiple offers' at $130+k! and yet there it is still for sale... :)

Unless there are stories here, this seems to be a pretty good car that will fit the bill. Not sure what the deal is with the shifter ball.
