There was a 1983 5000S 2v carb car at the car show last night.. I should have taken a ton more pics, but here are a couple. Love the euro bumpers and the pearl white color. Red interior.. sorry didn't take any pics.

Looks like a nice one!

It really was. Interior was in amazing shape for a 30yo car. The owner is a salesman at the local Ferrari dealer believe it or not.. Haha.

Here is a photo of the interior along with a few more. This car was shown at the Paris auto show in 1984.

When the previous owner from Buffalo sold the car, he when out on the town that night to celebrate the sale.

That night he was involved in a car accident driving his C_o_r_v_e_t_t_e.

The accident was moderate and he chose not to get checked out at the hospital.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to him he had suffered internal injuries and died later that night.

stirs up the side skirt or no skirt dilemna for u again doesnt it ;)

Not to mention the wing or no wing! I must say the white caulking looks a lot better with the skirts.. I think I would like the black more on this one, minor detail though.

Interesting story Vic. Just goes to show, don't sell your CT!

I believe the previous owner took them sometime in 2010.

A good friend of mine knew the owner and told me what had happened to the guy.

Prior to his ownership there were a couple more owners of it in Western New York area.

One being a native American that made it big selling gas and cigarets in the area, they called him Smoking Joe.

And yes I am serious about the name, anyone in the Niagara Falls area knows Smoking Joe as the Indians now run the casino in the old Niagara Falls convention center.

Good info. The current owner is an awesome guy. Just filled me in on a lot of the same info.

It is a nice car...I was able to get the car for the current owner and import it back in the US from Canada.....took a bit, but we got it done. I was wondering when it would show up on the boards.

I am glad he is happy with it. A car with great History and top notch color combo IMO.

great car

looks awesome in these colors

Ha...Emilio. I see that you wound up with Ray Grimm's 400S in similar colors. (bianco vs. bianco pearlato) I absolutely LOVE that one. I wish Carlo had taken me more seriously when I told him to call me when Ray was REALLY ready to let it go. It was a truly exceptional example, and I am sure it has only gotten nicer since you became it's keeper...

Roy,

Thanks again for your help. I think you are the first person I have ever bought a car from (and being in the business, I have bought quite a few..) That I have never actually spoken to. I knew this car fifteen years ago when the Sack had it. It has gone down hill just a bit since it was refreshened by him in the 90's. I am presently working on getting it even nicer that I remember it being. Don't worry, I will take lots of pics of the process:)

BTW, I nearly bought a set of "limey heims"...GLAD I found this board before I did!!

I heard that the buyer in Canada who purchased the car was pretty unhappy with the way Sackoshit represented it. Bmwracer spoke to him at length about the car. Regardless I'm sure its a good car.

I never spoke to the fellow in Canada who last had it. I think he paid top dollar at the time he bought it. I remember it being described by Sackey as a multiple concourse winner (back in the 90's).... While it will require a little work on my part to get it back to THAT level, it is a sound and solid starting point. I think that anyone who is unfimiliar with the way these cars were made in the first place; and has taken for granted the giant leaps that have been made by Lamborghini in the fit and finish department, would be dissapointed with a "brand new" Countach.
