finished putting together my new computer setup, a Mac Pro connected to three 4k displays (one 32" Dell and two 24" Dells). The mac scales the 4k displays like their "retina" displays making for an amazing, super sharp, iPad like display on these large screens, hard to tell in the pics of course, but it's awesome to say the least...

thanks, 3.5Ghz 6 core, 1TB PCIe-based flash storage, Dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, 16GB RAM, internal flash storage reads/writes at 980 MB/sec, I have an external thunderbolt enclosure with 1TB SSD's in a raid array for additional storage...

Nice setup. What specs on the mac pro?

It's much bigger so you can run a larger scaled resolution, color seems better so far on the 32 out of the box, but I haven't calibrated the 24"s yet, I think I'll get them to match once calibrated, they are both their ultrasharp IPS panels, so the quality should be pretty close...

three 32"s would have been better, but it started getting pricey... I got the 32" for $2100 and the 24"s for $800 each...

Do you find the UP3214Q to be that much better than the UP2414Q? Great set up.

Nice. I mean I am all for having reserve power but it is a bit overspecced to surf Facebook and LP don't you think?

How do u wire 3 monitors to a single computer?

Graphics card has more then one output. Most have atleast 2 nowadays. I'd bet the Pro has 3 or 4.

The MacPro has 6 thunderbolt2 ports, it can power 6 regular computer monitors or 3 4K UHD monitors...

that's a sweet setup you got there.

I need to find more clients that have that kind of budget for their computer.

Epic set up - couple of questions for you:

What do you use to connect the screens to the mac? HDMI to thunderbolt conversion or does the monitor have a thunderbolt port?

What are you using to physically connect the monitors together?

Thanks

the monitors have display ports, so I have mini-display port to display cables going from the Mac Pro to the monitors... Thunderbolt2 ports on the MacPro can use mini display port cables...

the 30" sits in the desk, and the 24"s have these in the back, bolted to the back of the desk, so you don't have to use the monitor stands and it frees up desk space..

How do you like that arm? I currently have 3 x 27" monitors and a 70" hook up to my current computer. I want to take it to a 1 30" in the middle with 2 24" landscape on each side and then 3 24" across the top. I am trying to find a stand to make this work. I can hook 8 monitors up to my computer pretty easily just can't find a stand worth a crap.

Would like to kind of build my own stand if I had all of the brackets and base.

that set up looks bad ass. my pc gave me a "SMART has detected an impending hard drive failure" message tonight so i think i am about to retire from the world of PCs...

i just wish i needed all the processing power to justify getting that bad boy but porn gifs are pretty low bandwidth :)

the stand works well, easy to fine tune and adjust, should work will for a 6 monitor setup if you have something to bolt them to on the back side...
