  1. Allan, checking with the new owner on how much he wants me to say.....give me a day or two. What # is yours of the twenty?
  2. Roy, your killing me with this SV luggage; the old need vs want dilemma (and Teresa...)
  3. Jeff it needs A LOT of cosmetic attention before he even thinks about the SV decal, more to follow.....
  4. Me and the new owner are in New Orleans to inspect the car tomorrow morning before he has it shipped home.....to be continued
  5. Who are you going to have do the mats?
  6. Actually the plaque says she is number two of twenty, and she is gorgeous....
  7. To have the BEST Diablo mechanic in the world work on it, ship it Driven Exotics in Gilroy, CA. I send one of my Diablos there every May (from Phoenix) for its annual service. PM me if you need more info on why
  8. I have seen/sat in the black one at Driven Exotics. It is truly stunning.
  9. You LA Area folks have to start coming to the event at Vandenberg Air Force Base, "Fast Cars And Faster intercontinental Ballistic Missiles" put together by Jim Bindman of the Ferrari Club. With a police escort I got a young second lieutenant over 130 in the SV Many folks reported 150+. Dinner with the troops Friday night is one of the most rewarding cool evenings you will spend ( beats anything in Monterey). On the grass Saturday we had 3 Diablos (SV, 6.0 and Roadster) and 3 Espadas vs about 50 Ferraris. There were more Pantereas and Lotus' than Lambos
  10. Hey Larry, I'm going to be at Driven Thursday around 11 till one-ish picking up the SV and getting some home maint. tutoring (ie Lambo maint for Dummies/Pilots) from Steve, if your free swing by and we'll all have lunch Kev
  11. Great write up Allan, thanks....makes me glad I went with another Diablo for #2 (but a 6 speed LP670 SV...)
  12. Mark, Monterey Weekend is only 6 weeks away! Steve is prepping the SV for it, you guys would LOVE Monterey. Is it doable for you? ps the kids moved from ABQ to OKC beginning of June, so my ABQ adventures are pretty limited now. And before I forget have you guys ever eaten at "Indigo Crow"? Worth the drive Kev
  13. Tahiti blue counts have, GORGEOUS. WILL THAT ONE EVER BE FOR SALE?
  14. Whatever your politics, "Living in the USA", can't be beat. But "Freedom is NOT free". If you have the opportunity, thank a Veteran....
  15. it is a conundrum, what is better for the brand, exclusivity, only a few (G?) or "mass" production, lose some of the rarity factor but raise some cash?? The : "Yes that's my Lambo" gives way to "oh yea, my wife takes the the kids to soccer practice in the Lambo too" , dunno know...that's why I have Diablo's...
  16. Larry one of my favorite pics of my roadster is the one you took of Nicholas standing at the left rear bumper of the Roadster Good luck with the SV hunt!
  17. Larry, that's exactly why I got the SV. Folks ask me which one I like better, Roadster or SV, I tell 'em that's like asking me which Grandson I like better: they're kinda different, kinda the same, but I LOVE 'em both! How are the your kid's? See you at Steve's in August
  18. Allan, I've had "Complete Hydraulics" scissor lift for years and wouldn't trade it for anything. Did the 4wd to 2wd conversion on my roadster with it. The SV is lifted on it right now. Don't know anything about ramps.
  19. visited once on a Cleveland overnight. Great inventory, sales guy was very helpful/pleasant even though I told him right up front I was not buying a car today (but I was in my airline Captain's uniform, had to go from there to fly) Would agree, very optimistic pricing, do not know how they negotiate, but if they have a car you are interested in would be worth a visit. Nice place.
  20. OK, drove the SV up to north PHX this afternoon to check out this roadster...here's my report...When I arrived (2 pm) at "Arizona wholesale Auto and Truck" (terrible name, we will get to that) it was closed and locked up tight and it is not in the best part of town, this was going to be easy...not. As I was about to leave Alan Monroe, President and I'm pretty sure owner pulled in. Very nice guy, not "flaky" at all, but most showings are done by appointment according to Alan. He's been in the same location for 24 years. The business name, should be something like "AZ Porsche and Specialty Cars", as Alan opened the shop and gave me a tour. Many very nice vintage and newer Porsche's along with a nice smattering of other sports cars. Alas, the Diablo Roadster was not there, Alan said it was at his home, as he had driven it this morning (he pulled in a a big p/u truck) So I can not vouch for the condition of his Roadster, though he spoke very enthusiastically about it. (May get to see it Saturday morning if he brings it to cars & coffee) So overall: don't be turned off by the business name, Alan was not flaky at all. If I needed another Roadster I would make an appointment with Alan to check out the car. Any one interested in this Roadster needs to do that, in person. I don't think this car will be sold over the phone/internet. So that's my report folks, hope it helps someone....
  21. OK, I'll go check this car and dealer out in the next 48 hours (looking for an excuse to to drive one of mine) Question: Which one do I take? The '97 Roadster with almost 80,000 Km on the clock, but looks like it came out of the factory last month or the SV ME edition with only 24,000 Km but is a concour car. ie, which one will illicit the most "straight" answers from the seller? Opinions?
