I think the 04-05 & 06-08 G's have probably reached close to their minimum. They will probably hover around current prices for some time. Later 560-570's may drop with the introduction of the new model, as many enthusists begin to sell/ trade up. 560-570's have recently been just south of 200k; may drop to 150-160 range. Note: this is just conjecture & opinion.

Long story short, been looking at Audis for dd. Only want to spend 40-50k. Been lookiing at used A6, A4, and S4's. I know the 6 is a larger car, but I kinda like the size of the 4's. I like the more aggresive look of the S4, but is this a comfortable car for long (400 mi) trips ?

Awesome post ! And my sentiments exactly. I save for years to buy each of my cars. I own a business, and it has done well for me, but I'm certainly no big roller. Being flashy and having stature have never meant much to me. I'll choose my integrity over the admiration of others any day.

I do like the RS5, but it doesn't quite do it for me like the R8 does. It is more of a styling thing than a performance thing. I seem to get a particular car in my mind, and only that car will do.

I have been shopping hard for an R8 lately. I was only considering the 5.2, but I would like to hear from some who have spent time in both. I realize most everyone would prefer the 5.2, but if you were going to drive the car A LOT, maybe as a DD, would that change your preference ?

Just a couple of thoughts. I agree with you on your price prediction. I'm following this thread because I am interested in a 2011/2012 SL also. These have been going for 200+ recently, but I think when the Cabrera comes out, those prices will drop. I am thinking about picking up a V10 R8 now (prices seem stable), then maybe in a year or so, going for the SL. Hopefully by that time I can get one in the 180-185 range. Sure. Looking for a 5.2 R8. Must be white with carbon blades, R tronic, grey or black interior, pref Y spoke wheels. Budget 120-125k. Was hoping to find one in the southeast (I'm in N.GA).
