  1. putting ECU tune, exhaust with decat, and RWD will make the 6.2L Murcie as fast as a stock LP640. this is as far as i would go on mods besides going TT. from our experience it's still quite a big distance in power to the 670 SV. by analogy, if you can get an LP640 mod it with ECU, exhaust and RWD, i bet it will be quite fast already.
  2. just got my ML 63... finally. wow! that was a long time coming from my earlier post. all i can say is, it is hands down the best urban SUV i have driven. it is luxurious inside, good looking outside, has comfortable ride, and very powerful for what it is. my only gripe is that when you brake the front dives too much. i think there is too much front brake bias -as can be seen from the front rotor and caliper size. i like that the drive is softer feeling than the benchmark cayenne. the porsche might be better at the track, but truthfully, this SUV will be used as a daily driver on city roads, hence i like it's manners better given its primary purpose. i just hope it stays reliable for the long run.
  3. i like silva. i missed the fight but i had a feeling his showboating like that would catch him at some point. but i really found it amazing how much confidence he had in himself to do that. and how many real punches he could dodge doing it.
  4. you might want to check www.luxurybazaar.com, even just as reference for current market prices.
  5. i have heard an akrapovich on a 570SL and it sounds incredible and smooth.
  6. RWD has big effect on speed. glad mine is already.
  7. RL probably has all the other cars you would get if you were to spend that much money on a car.
  8. please do. my buddy who bought a 500 mile FGT with original tires had the thread separate from the tire on the highway. good thing he was able to slow down safely with minimal damage on the car. the bridgestones are very capable for the street. and get a pulley/tune from torrie mcphail. it will wake the car up big time. enjoy and be safe
  9. glen, you can supply parts for mclaren as well?? cool.
  10. you're not Crazy Allan. i like the new boxster S a lot. went to the dealer twice already to look at the car. made a lowball offer. glad they didn't take it. but that's how much i like the car. i really considered buying one. just wasn't willing to pay more as it's a car that will overlap in purpose to my Bmw 1M and i don't ever want to let go of the 1M and the silver/red is my favorite as posted above. white will do as well. i wish it had a little more power. but it sure does look good especially with the top down. ** i hate it this topic. now the car is on my mind again. there's a red one at the dealer.**
  11. you just got a keeper right there. if those goodyear F1s are still originals that came with the car, consider replacing them ASAP.
  12. if you can swing the price difference of the LP640, i would definitely say it is worth it. there is so much more power, better brakes, and the car generally feels more refined. of course you get the updated look as well. put it this way, there is no way you can upgrade a regular Murcielago to LP640 specs for the price difference. now, if budget is tight, i would say you can get about 80-85% of the fun in a regular murcielago. but after driving both, definitely you can feel the improvements of the later version. the main difference really is the performance gap, updated looks and refinement. the driving feel, attention, and smile on your face should be pretty similar. in fact the older car will feel more raw. if there is no dealer around your area and you have no issues driving a manual car, i still say this is the transmission to get whether LP640 or regular Murcie. it will give you less headaches and less maintenance problems as far as clutches and electronics are concerned. good luck.
  13. i bought a '94 512 TR last year and with all the stories on the forum i was expecting the worst - was thinking this would probably be the worst exotic to own. i was actually surprised. the car is easy to drive. the clutch pressure is not too bad, steering is precise, brakes are decent for highway use, a/c is very cold, and ride is pretty comfortable. i really could not fault the car. it's definitely no canyon carver. but it really puts a smile when driving as it's a proper cruising exotic that doesn't get you tired while driving it.
  14. i would rather they not go to CL wheels. it's just a big pain in the ass and not worth it IMO. if you go to rennlist many porsche GT car owners would rather not have the CL wheels. it looks great in the beginning but terribly limits what you can do with the car if you don't have the tools to remove the center lock. and while you may have the breaker bar, it's still not as simple since there are other mechanical procedures that need to be followed to properly remove and reinstall the centerlock. i say just stay with the 5 bolt pattern.
  15. this is very true. at this point, it is very easy to get in touch with someone in the factory and get a reply to your concern/ query. my car is here in the philippines wherein we have no dealer and no mechanic/tech who has any experience with this type of car. i contacted someone in the factory, got a reply and after a short period of time, their asia aftersales director is in touch with me in assisting me contacting regional dealers that can send a tech to service my car and do the update. great work i will say.
  16. really funny video. and great effort by everyone wearing those costumes. put a big smile on me.
  17. how long was the run? i'm surprised that the 700hp FGT was still ahead of the updated MP4. my updated MP4 has done 6.9sec 60-130 while my pulley and tune FGT is at 7.2sec. based from this, i would assume the MP4 is faster in everyway. oh well. but that's good stuff Kisco. thanks for the vids.
  18. and the MP4 only gets faster at higher speeds.
  19. dammit!!! these are the guys that did my MP4. http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/ i really thought the $3K (entire front and bumper custom wrap in clear film) was reasonable based from my reading in rennlist. oh well. charge to experience. edit: i got it done in their southern california affiliate. but now it doesn't appear on their website any longer.
  20. wow! that's cheap. i got a clear wrap from premiere and it cost me more than $3K just for the entire front. are clear wraps really more expensive that the colored ones?
  21. this is so true and my initial reaction. but as time passes by and i get so used to the swipe, i actually would have liked it if Mclaren kept it as it adds character to the car. for 2013 onwards the swipe feature is gone in lieu of a button. this will perhaps in effect make the original first year cars more desirable.
  22. i'm getting rumors that the RS will have a manual OPTION. as much as a lot of us say how we love the manual, come time to buy, most will still opt to go for the PDK for sure. this type of transmission will definitely open up this car to a wider audience and bring in more money to the company... this is what it's all about. still, maybe they do offer manual in the RS for the die hard track rats. but when those people get overtaken by their PDK brethren, then they might change their minds very quickly. andreas is correct, you lose maybe 1/3 to 1/2 car lengths at each shift. and when you multiply that to several laps, it gets quite big. we are almost at the end of the era for manual trans in exotic cars. these double clutch trannies are just getting too good. if andreas' claim about releasing the clutch fully and the feel of shifts are true, then the pros will definitely outweigh the cons.
