Ton of $$$ or not, Titanium is a metallurgically horrific material for a camshaft. Not only does it flex (surprises me about the crank choice as well) but has some pretty terrible galling properties. Mainly due to the high sliding coefficient and that it creates surface oxidization very quickly which is just another wear component, almost a grinding medium. With the high surface pressure of the rocker/button/roller it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I know they have some coatings which are used in the aircraft industry on landing gear, but in terms of surface travel a cam will see more "use" in 5 minutes than the life of a landing gear assembly. Sure is a S load of money to spend that might save a few ounces over a gun drilled forged steel setup. Oh well, it's neat to see!
