  1. I've been looking for a car to replace my supra, and I've been seriously considering an NSX. Today, I took the opportunity and test drove one. Here is my little write up of it. ---------------------------------------------------------- I've been looking for an NSX locally for a while now. Ive been to the local Proctor Acura looking for one to no avail. They didn't have any... so my search for one ended there. That was until last Friday. So, I was having lunch with this cute girl I met from class, and while I was waiting for her to show up, I stumbled across a car buying magazine that the resturant happened to have sitting around. So I started thumbing through it, and noticed that there was a red 1996 5-speed NSX-T in town. At that point, I tore out the page, and made a mental note to go check it out. Today, I was on my way to get some things at Walmart, and I decided I had some time to spare. I stopped by this dealership called Premier Motorcars, and there I saw it. It was parked right in front of their building hidden from view from the street. So, I walked inside and asked someone about it. They told me to wait for Tom (the sales manager) as it was his "baby". The woman that I was talking to then walked in his office and grabbed the keys. She handed them to me and told me he would be right with me. So, I walked outside and started checking out the car. A few minutes later, Tom came out and we started talking. He showed me everything wrong with it (some minor shit... but still important to consider) and showed me what was good about. He told me the only modifcations were the Comptect exhaust and K&N Filter. He started it up and reved the engine so I could here it. It sounded good . So, we discussed NSX's etc, and then went back inside where he showed me some pictures of past ones he had. We talked more about stuff, and then I popped the question, "can I drive it?" He goes, "no problem". He instructed me to get into the passenger seat and he would drive it out, and then let me drive it back. My first impression was that the passenger seat is extremely uncomfortable. Not the seat itself, but the leg room. I'm only 5' 11" tall, and I had to sit with my knees bent. We drove out a bit, and studied everything inside the car. No cup holders, but I wouldn't really want to drink something inside of here anyways. Then we pulled into a gas station, and he let me get behind the wheel. First thing he told me, "you have to hold the clutch all the way down, or the car will stall." This puzzled me a bit... then I asked him a little more about it. "The clutch has to be to the floor maxxed out or it will stall." Hmm... ok. So I start driving, and he tells me to keep it under 5,000 rpms. No worries. I did a nice little 0-60 mph pull, and it was decent. Not faster than the supra, but I didn't expect it to be either. My only complaint was how cramped the footwell was. There wasn't much space for me to rest my foot when not on the clutch. Besides that though, the car drove nice. Visibility out the rear was kind of limited, but the sidemirrors more than made up for it. Tom even let me back it back into it's spot between two poles, and I did it easily. We talk a little more on the way back, and he tells me it will run a high 13 or a low 14 if I can drive pretty well. We get back, shake hands, and he tells me to come back whenever I want. Tom was a really good salesman, I might just take him up on his offer when I get the supra back from the body shop. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you guys had any experiences with these cars? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.
  2. all I can say is... "Slow!" ( all in good fun... I really like the black one, and I'm seriously considering trading in the Supra for a 1994 GTS in Blue )
  3. 350z>new eclipse v6> s2k (I test drove all three in the same day, stock for stock)
  4. i believe the snake pic was posted in the 1st Dammmn thread (or maybe earlier in this one?)
  5. lol.... I think the most expensive supras to day have been the gold top secret one, the jgtc supras, and that yellow widebody one that was on e-bay a while back.
  6. hehe... good vid ... glad the guy made it
  7. my favorite car is my supra that i've had for over two years
  8. Slow (For a stock car, this is impressive I guess....) (Edit: Never lost to a new c6 or old Plastic mess-06... hopefully I'll keep this trend going
  9. At the place where I got my tints done in SFL, they sell T-Rex's. The night that my tints were being done, 3-4 of them showed up to meet up with the owner and his t-rex. Their car's are sick as hell. Two were turbo charged, one had nitrous, and the other was about to be turboed. I took a few pics, but don't have any available to me at this moment. Amazing little cars... just sucks when it rains.
  10. lol... who doesn't like mods?... who wouldn't take a TT diablo over a stock one ?
  11. you can find an n/a mkiv for 10 k..... you can find an auto tt for 15 k.... and you can find a 6 spd tt for 20 k.... good luck....
  12. man... I wish it was easier to tell which of these were photoshopped or not... i.e- some of the big animals
  13. awesome!... congrats on the purchase/gift
  14. meh... Suprastore sucks... my goal right now is 600 rwhp on pump gas. I'm currently at 500 rwhp... and i've got a few more goodies that need to be installed before I start turning up the boost... what could anyone possibly do with 1,500 hp on the street?....
  15. would a stop watch and a video camera be sufficient enough?... I love racing my car at 100 mph rolls... so this would be an interesting comparison to some of the supercars
  16. gtr or gts?....vspec?... post some more information... I am intersted
  17. as far as pics.... it looks bad right now... im about to drop $3-$4 thousand dollars on paint and body work.... I'll post a new thread when it comes out of the shop... I want to drop it off tommorow morning... we'll see as far as running stock fuel, yeah... I didn't mean to push it so much. The shop said the afr was perfect and to turn up the boost. Eventually, the heat/engine pulling timing got to it as you can see on the final run when I lost a few hp. after this paint job, then the money will go back into performance. At 500 rwhp on pump gas, I'm already beating most everything on the road. as far as spool is conscerned, between 4.5 k and 5.5 k my engine doubles its hp output. I also have a 50 shot on the car for spool, so I'm not too worried about a late spool. I'm planning on making this car into an R1/Busa hunter Expect pics of everything in a month or so after the paint drys
  18. i hope a woman drives that....
  19. lol... typo... going to go edit it now...
  20. Here's what I got followed by the dyno chart: 1. 414.23 rwhp @ 355.07 ft. lbs of torque (@ 100.45 Degrees F) 2. 470.80 rwhp @ 402.62 ft. lbs of torque (@ 101.67 Degrees F) 3. 482.87 rwhp @ 406.76 ft. lbs of torque (@ 102.25 Degrees F) 4. 494.98 rwhp @ 413.84 ft. lbs of torque (@ 102.59 Degrees F) 5. 487.09 rwhp @ 412.41 ft. lbs of torque (@ 104.98 Degrees F) Mods: pump gas (93 octane from Tom Thumb Gas) stock fuel stock ecu t-88-34d custom fmic (24x12X4) univeral air filter stock MAF Custom 3" downpipe ATR Exhaust boost logic crank pulley manual boost controller (gate valve) koyo radiator greddy type s bov RPS lightened flywheel RPS Pressure plate ACT 650 ft/lb clutch HKS FCD I just kept turning up the boost and eventually got heat soaked. Also, the A/F on the dyno was broken (we found out later after a few more cars dyno'd and got the same number) so my A/F is incorrect. We kept upping the boost little by little, and in the end, we still didn't get any detonation or other bad signs from the car. If you look at the dyno, one of the AFR's is way lean. The car blew it out of the exhaust pipe Also, after every run, when the car hit red-line there was a nice black puff of smoke out the back, so it's running rich a bit. I'm quiet happy. I can only imagine what it can do with some tuning, race gas, some more fuel, and a cooler day Here's the chart:
  21. lmao... girls with corpses!!! bwhhahaha! this is a great thread
