  1. A friend took a few pics at twilight, this car/paint is hard to photog, gonna get a pro to take some later.... but IRL, when it came off the transport I was stunned, it looks so much better than any pics I have seen, has real presence. MB recomends an easy break in, so I haven't beat on it yet, but the V8 makes good torque and the car feels fast. Ride quality is firm, steering crisp, car is very composed, no doubt it will take the twisties as well as my G, except I won't have to manhandle it, probably won't even use the paddles, as the sport plus shift program works pretty damn good. Cockpit is not so large, but well appointed, sport seats are great, seating position is way cool, LOW, right outta east LA. The exhaust sound is outta Detroit, back when they built muscle cars, and it sounds terriific! Ditto that on the BO sound system. Entry/egress is easier than my G, the doors only need 18" clearance, Initial impressions are that this is a real sports car AND also a car that will do double duty as a badass cruiser.
  2. Finally!, car is dope, nice mods, really liking the new wheels!
  3. Very cool vid, great racing guys, and props to Kilo for some fast shifts, they sounded damn near as quick as the egear! You got a lot of bang for your buck on those mods, I think your car is making more than 550hp at the crank, every LP560 that we have seen a dyno sheet on comes in at around 500awhp so I am guessing your dyno read way low, probably by around 40hp. A little known fact is that Lamborghini overstated power on the 04-08Gs by around 20hp, and UNDERSTATED power on the LPs by at least 40hp, so to hang even is very impressive. I was always skeptical about ecu tunes, but it looks like yours actually did some good.
  4. Don't work out, but this one makes for a nice slow burn in the bedroom. Remixed with lots of bass:
  5. Thanks everyone! Bill, I was supposed to pick it up yesterday, but the transport broke down, so they are shipping it to my place, gonna try to bring it on that run down to Naples that you were talking about.
  6. Thanks! Yeah, the 458 looks got stale fast, but its a badass car nonetheless. As for the SLS, havent seen one or driven one(mine is on a transport, 6pm eta!)..... hoping it will be something special.
  7. Thanks G, traveling, starting tomorrow, so it will be a few weeks.
  8. The headline neglected to mention that the bar is a down n dirty stripclub/whorehouse, not the type of place to take wifey on a shore excursion, altough Rob should listen up. The bar offered table-dances and other entertainment, and had a rough reputation. Alor said the bar had had problems in the past, but did not offer any details.
  9. Hopefully before I really need viagra, but no worries, when/if, in recognition of the country's tenacious commie past, the first flight will be fo free. Supposedly the current travel restrictions will be eased in the near future, allowing a few more ways to go. In '99 I went via a legal sailing regatta which departed from Tampa. We departed from Key West, motored in on a 25' Mako, we never saw/caught up to the sailboats but no one seemed to mind. I would do the trip again that way, but not on a Mako, 6 to 10' foot swells are not uncommon on the Florida straits....
  10. Lotta things, styling, gullwing doors(the explosive bolts are a nice MB touch!), big V8 with torque, muscle car exhaust, price/value, my gut....
  11. Thanks, yep bought it at the Lauderdale benz store. Yep, red int, 10 spoke wheels, bang olf stereo.
  12. Yep, mine is being offloaded at the port today, hopefully pick it up first thing next week. Keeping the G.
  13. SLS launch looked weak as well, autocar is a decidely porschcentric organization. But no doubt, the Turbo launches like a mofo.
  14. Nicely done body kit, wheels(21/20") exhaust and suspension, let the tuning begin. http://www.caradvice.com.au/81416/mercedes...-sls-by-brabus/
  15. Thats the spirit, just think about how much fat is gonna get burned after a 20- 30 klik walk. I am much lazier, I would call in a Sikorsky for an airlift out.
  16. ^^ One of the most mashed up songs of all time. DJ Chus reworking some salsa:
  17. I used to share ownership of my airplanes, out of a total three airplanes and 7 partners, only one guy was 100% stand up. I wound up buying them out, even paying a premium to get rid of the worst one. I can only guess the ratio would be worse with an exotic. If you do it, get a written agreement, hold harmless clause, and extra insurance, you will save money, but the hassle factor will go up.
  18. Gotta feeling this impulse buy is not gonna last long.....NEXT! Make sure it has some room in the back for two or three spinners.
  19. Bummer Gary, hope you get your $$$ back. I never have used paypal, unless I know the party I am buying from or selling to, its a credit card or nada.
  20. Actually a lot lower, 150ish, right there with the Panny, Maserati, the cars it will be competing with. If they build it around an Audi chassis, its enitirely doable. As for outsourcing manufacturing, I doubt it. The Italian plant is operating at half capacatity, @ life support levels, another product line could help quash the red ink, bring it back to black.
  21. You forgot the R8. Yep already its bleh, 14 pages worth! Hopefully McLaren will turn the car loose (to the press) soon, seems like they are taking forever launching this thing.
  22. Haha, actually it had more to do with the driver needing a bigger pair than brakes or runway length.
