  1. It’s 20 grand a year (12k after tax with HSA). What car DON’T you pay 20k more than we do?
  2. I heard the option was given to Enya but she respectfully declined because it was too docile for her.
  3. Family is expensive. We have BCBS and it’s not bad. If you don’t use much insurance get an HSA plan with as high a deductible as possible which disproportionately lowers the premium, plus the $ you put into the HSA is tax deductible. I never touch mine and use it as a small tax free savings.
  4. I agree with the sentiment that a watch now is a nod to simpler times and craftsmanship. In my lifetime “good” watches have never been the best solution for keeping time, yet they have gained in desirability. Are we the last generation that will appreciate watches? Like our other mechanical treasures such as toy ICE cars, maybe.
  5. Maybe that’s why the 2RS had standard tires rather than the good ones on the 3RS, to give the sister Lambo team a fighting chance? The 2RS is certainly more than 10 seconds faster than the 3RS but they achieved what they wanted and called it a day. Speaking of calling it a day, did the Jota finish it’s testing and just miss the mark? I believe they packed up.
  6. For me, it’s additional fun, like putting a couple bucks on a football game. It ends up being more interesting even though it is meaningless. I thank my fellow Viper enthusiast for the friendly wager. I like the Lambos and have had most of the modern ones, I just prefer Porsches. Some of that is attributable to the two dealers in my area. The 3RS ran sub 7, that is amazingly quick. But I can tell you it doesn’t have the power to be a great street car. The 2RS only went 10 seconds quicker but it will be 10 times the street car with 50% more power. And I’ll probably enjoy the 3 more at Sebring. It’s a great time to be a car guy!
  7. It looks great in yellow, such an exotic shape. I do not understand the red calipers but do understand that it doesn’t matter.

I think you are wading too deep in the jewelry pond if you have pieces that make you that uncomfortable to leave in your own house. Locked front door, bedroom door and closet door? That’s crazy. I see posts about people wondering about scratches, theft, etc. These pieces are supposed to be rewards. If they have the opposite effect on you, punt and live happy. Unless it’s a family heirloom where your dads best friend brought home his watch from a POW camp in his ass, its replaceable. Ask Bill how to get a blanket jewelry policy so you only have to schedule 100k pieces and live free and happy. And put the ass watch in the bank safe deposit box.
  9. Wow, very cool collection of SV’s. Well done!
  10. It sounds as if it was made to lightly entertain rather than win cinematic awards. I think that is the winning recipe for a large action/comic picture. I’m looking forward to seeing it with the family Sunday. Thanks for the review, yours are always very good, if not a little overly critical, being a pro...
  11. I’m curious, what cars have you guys experienced with suede in them?
  12. Hybrid allows a much smaller V-12 that can rev/scream and the electric motors make up the missing torque down low. You get everything, there’s just a weight and cost penalty but both are improving every year. And in a two ton Aventador a couple hundred pounds isn’t a big deal compared to 900 plus hp screaming down the road.
  13. The Aventador is a heavy street car. It will be even better with the batteries, motors and DCT. That’s how you get a good at everything, great sounding, 1000hp street car. A couple hundred electric hp doesn’t add a lot of weight but fills in the weak areas of an optimized ICE very well.
  14. I’ll take one of those nukes!
  15. Dave, is this the one and only car to change hands so far?
  16. I think there is a limit. There are plenty of doors with carbon but the days of a solid sheet of carbon for an inner door panel are gone in the US. There’s obviously zero benefit to shaving three pounds off an aventador but the all carbon inner door does look the business.
  17. Quite the drive. The Ring pilots are getting pretty bold.
  18. What do you know about Ford GTs?
  19. GT2RS and GT3RS ran on the tires it will come with. There is an even better tire that they tested at Spa that was faster still. Porsche is not going to publish a time with a tire that doesn’t come on the car. Being conscious of my surroundings all I will say is that the Aventador has its work cut out for it to get that many pounds around the ring in under 7 minutes, on street tires. Supposedly the work to the surface in spots is worth around 2 seconds a lap at this level.
  20. You KNOW that won’t happen. Maybe they will let it beat the new 3RS and go low 50’s but certainly not beat the 2RS.
