  1. In my own little way I do the same thing with kids. A few times when I have actually parked it somewhere, I've returned three times to find boys - probably 10-12 years old - admiring the car. Looking, but not touching. I got the same facial reaction as this kid had when I ask if they'd like to sit in it. Yeah, its "only" a Murci but I live in Pittsburgh and around here the Murci might as well be a space ship.....
  2. "this car is for little men". I'm 5'4" and owned a Vantage (2007 model I think). I hated it too (though not sure I can speak for all little men....). I could only watch half this video - the rest was too painful. It is a "pretty" car - but thats I could say for it. Oh, and to add insult to injury, since this was the first real mass produced car for AM, they certainly did PRODUCE them, so the resale value dropped at least 50% in less than a year.
  3. People project their feelings and emotions onto cats and dogs all the time. Do this on a bear and you could be wrong. Dead wrong. As cool as it would be to have "Gentle Ben" as a pet, seems a little risky to me.
  4. You know one of their mom's is upstairs on the phone "the boys are downstairs practicing - I think they are getting better". Funnies thing I have ever seen.
  5. Seems like an appropriate place to post a pic of my six month old in "his" car. This daddy thing is pretty cool
  6. Well, for better or worse I went with PS2. Just my luck the Super Sports will come out in my size in June. Oh well - I'll see how these go and if I dont like them just suck it up and change them to the Corsa's. Thanks for the responses.
  7. I have done that many times hoping for a different result. Funny, it brings up the same thing every time. The afore mentioned P-zero corsa, the BF Goodrich, and the Hoosier - which looks pretty much like a racing slick. A phone call to the fine folks at Tire Rack also confirmed a lack of options for the rears. Not sure increasing the tire width will give me more options but I will check it out - but it looks like the BFGs or Corsa's. Was just wondering if others have had the same dilemma but I guess most just go with the Corsa's. What rears do you run on your Murci? Thanks for the help.
  8. You guys and your RWD... So if they are the same size I'll have the same problem in about 5k miles (so for me about three years) - from what I understand from the folks at tire rack is that 19s and 20s have the same problem - lack of options other than Corsa's.
  9. While unlikely...are they the same size other than the diameter?
  10. What are you guys using for replacement tires? It seems like there are not nearly as many options for the rears (I have the OEM 335/30/18) as I would have expected. They dont make the Rosso's in that size any more so I guess most are going with the Corsa but they are so soft (I dont track it) and pick up every stone on the road. The only other option I've found for the rears are Michelin PS2's and I have not heard great things about them. The Pilot Super Sports are not made in that size yet. So any suggestions or ideas? I searched the forum but didnt find anything specific to the rear tire size (lots of G info though). Thanks.
  11. Considering he obviously shaves his armpits, this must be a frequent pose..... though I guess in fairness when someone says "hey Rock make a muscle" I doubt they want to see him hike up his pants to show off a calf muscle.
  12. You know - I noticed that >90% of these fails are guys...typical. Now that I have a son (4 months old) I realize most of my job in life is to raise him so that he is not a complete fcuking retard. But when I look back as some of the totally stupid stuff I did growing up I'm lucky to be alive. I'd say he is doomed....
  13. Glad my Murci is Blue....those Orange ones seem like they have issues....
  14. LOL. Sadly only 5'9" now.....I invested in small cap biotech six months ago
  15. I'm 5'4" and if I tried to back my Murci like that I'd be in the fence. I can barely reach the peddles as it is A man's got to know his limitations.
  16. Took the Lambo to a "general" car show once last year. NEVER again. But the PGH C&C is awesome. Why? Because regardless of what people drive they are all car guys (and gals) and have respect for other peoples property.
  17. Great...so I have this to look forward to this summer And a buddy of mine has a concealed carry in Atlanta and these are the exact words he was told to say too... "I have a concealed carry permit and I have a concealed weapon in the car". On a related note Cake - remind me to talk to you about getting a cc permit.
  18. Noooo, Docta.... this is EXACTLY what PGH C&C looked like last Saturday! Ya miss a week ya miss a lot
  19. Thanks Robster... I has just under 9,000 miles but I hope to put on more this summer. Funny - the second video is not my car. I've seen it before. I know of three other in MB so it could be one of those - I think it has the same OC exhaust though.
  20. Thanks Joe - nice to "see" you! Long time no talk. Hope all is well. I'm keeping it almost as nice as you did...
  21. I wanted to give a very short review of my experience with a new shop in Columbus, Ohio: Craig Reed of Studio 47 and Todd Cooperider of Esoteric Auto Detail. I’m the first to give mechanics grief when things go south so its a pleasure to be writing something positive for a change. Both of these gentlemen have been in the business of highline cars for years and recently joined forces. I have found it so very hard to get highly quality work done – regardless of cost (at some places I expected to hear “Looks like you’re gonna need a new ‘Johnson Rod’”) – that it is like a dream come true to find people like Craig and Todd that share, if not eclipse, my obsession. My Murci had a few “annual services” but I was uncertain as to what it really needed – Craig looked it over and gave me a thorough list of his suggestions – and I opted for a few additional things. The work was done on time and on budget – Craig picked the car up himself and even called me after it was returned to me to ask how it was performing. I can’t remember the last time someone called me to ask “so was my work up to your expectations”? It was – and while I would rather drive it than have it serviced, I have no anxiety anymore about who will be doing my mechanical work in the future. And the detail? It was awesome – I thought it was pretty nice going in but I had no idea just how fantastic it would look when it came home. I am attempting to attach a link that Todd put up on his website showing some before/after pics. Blue Monterey is a difficult color to photograph but these are the best shots I have ever seen. So enough gushing….simply put, great, honest, service at a reasonable price. My Murci Detail Studio 47 Website
  22. I used to ride Harley's. Very big bikes. Very LOUD bikes...but I would NEVER split lanes, legal or not. Cars/drivers really do not see you - they often look "through" you. And the bike always loses (crash-wise). A little OT, but I have been cut off numerous times - once I pulled up to the driver and said nicely "do you realize that you pulled right out in front of me - and nearly killed me". The lady looked at me like I was crazy. That said, I thought the video was pretty funny.
  23. The color is awesome, but with so many nice cars to pick from, I wouldn't touch this one with this CarFax. Life is too short to buy a car with a "story". JMHO.
  24. I've always wondered if "older" people....like me...that grew up driving standard transmissions favor 6-speeds and "kids" that have only ever driven automatic transmissions favor the e-gear. Just one guy thinking out loud.
  25. Yeah - the GL is on the list. She's funny - wants the room but not the "size" of the GL (go figure). So once you make the move to a larger SUV it opens to door to not only the GL but also the Cayenne and Range Rover. I'm in the early stages - and delaying her as long as I can - so thanks for your thoughts. Didn't mean to hijack the thread....
