  1. I have a fort knot safe (Protector version) with a dehumidifier and internal power supply in it. There's an option to add drawers which might be nice for watches, which you can see on this page: http://safesrus.com/fort-knox-safes/access...es-and-accents/
  2. You have $250k USD to buy one car, what do you get? I’ve been watching Diablos but haven’t seen the right one but that range yet. The forum is broken so...what are you getting right now if that’s your budget and why? #brokenforumgames
  3. Can we ban all guests? Maybe that takes the load off the database and returns things to normal? There are 1k-3k guests on at one time...all crawling forums for the NSA or some shit. If the bandwidth suck cuts off does that solve?
  4. I have control4. It’s a lot of hardware to do it right. Video distribution is a PITA to run wiring from a central rack out to all the TV and audio drops if you aren’t down to bare studs. I like being able to avoid having cable boxes, DVD players, AppleTv, Firestixks etc at each individual TV. If you go that route get the 4K video matrix, the audio distribution with most connectors etc to avoid upgrading later. I also like having everything run through one app (alarm, lights, thermostats, door locks, garage doors, TV, audio, security cameras). You could replicate everything with standalone products for half the cost and 2x the research and work. Garage doors have their own apps. Door locks have their own apps. Pool controls. Lights. Alarm. If you can skip the video distribution part and stick with Sonos or something f with its own app/controls you will save a bundle. My business partner has Savant and his setup and software interface seems cleaner. I wanted to do savant back in 2014 when I did control4 but st the time it was 20%+ more expensive. Cost is comparable to control4 now. I’d have a dealer do both come out and make a proposal. Then see if you can do better with standalone stuff.
  5. It has arrived! Vast improvement over the regular desktop speakers I was using, and it looks cool. I'm going to play with it today and move it around a little. It's not super loud when I crank it up, but seems to fill out more of the room. Thanks for mentioning it, I didn't even know it existed! https://photos.app.goo.gl/4cwlmDZqwQUey4Aw1
  6. Things seem to be moving with alacrity towards Instapots.
  7. Everyone needs to join Roman’s bitcoin Facebook page. It may be the only lifeboat!
  8. And the bots are invading... but maybe they always do: online now 1798 guests, 35 members
  9. That's amazing. I want to go clean all my kids' shit out of my garage right now and re-do it!
  10. FWIW I am DD a '17 porsche turbo s and it's the tits. Like Fortis says, multipurpose sports car. I actually prefer the PDK to manual for DD purposes because driving 20 miles each way in traffic is a bitch. Porsche interior is fantastic. I'm almost at 10,000 miles on the porsche. Plus my kids can fit in the back seats, so the wife approves. And she'll ride in this car to go out to dinner, unlike the TT lambo which she found to be too loud/attracted too much attention. The last 2 cars I experimented with DD were the BMW i8 (interior felt cheap compared to the porsche, and I missed the engine noise, but did like not having to fill up for gas that often and it looked like a spaceship at the time) and for a while I tried to DD the '11 lambo performante spyder (fun if I left really early and could open it up on the freeway, not so fun if I was crawling at 30mph on an elevated highway sucking exhaust fumes). I don't think I'd DD a stripped down car or go for race seats etc. just because of what my commute is like. I am looking for a weekend gated 6 speed now so I may wander back into Diablo land.
  11. Not according to what I am reading, the video internals of the 2018 CES product are said to be the same video as the 2017. The difference b/t last year and this year is all the $$ into upgrading the appearance, marble top, glass tweeters, etc. I read some more reviews and one reviewer noted the picture is not as good as the Sony TVs and that this seems geared toward a high end show piece in somebody's office lobby or a business.
  12. This projector was at CES from Sony, sits 1 foot from wall. Claims 4k and HDR etc. I didn't see it in person when I was walking around. http://www.livemint.com/Technology/oslM4mM...creen-from.html https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/201...design-ces-2018
  13. Is there a way to share playlists in Spotify? Maybe we need some LamboPower channels curated! My music has been too spread out. I started with Samsung phones (iphone now) so I used to buy all my music through Google Play and now it's all somehow been imported into Amazon Music. I bought a little bit using Apple Music so that's kicking around. Have some lossless downloads from live concerts I've been too. Been using Pandora at the office and at home (integrated with Control4 and the light switches are configured so that if I tap on 3x it turns on the speakers in the room and tunes to a Pandora station). I'm signing up and installing spotify while writing this, will see how it goes!
  14. The Bitcoin thread finally broke the board.
  15. Those panel speakers are big boys! I dug back through your recommendations and went ahead and ordered a Sony LSPX-S1. Should be a good fit for my office space and looks pretty cool! I'll report back on how Metallica LIVE From Houston sounds on it.
  16. All this speaker talk makes me want to get the Apogee Duet and some bad ass desktop speakers and step up my Pandora streaming at my desk in the office.
  17. fcuk no. I drink wine and gamble on bitcoin.
  18. I use this. https://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/ I have the router function turned off. Using Ubiquiti for household WiFi.

  20. I thought these were some interesting articles on Bitcoin price manipulation. https://cointelegraph.com/news/single-trade...but-to-what-end https://hackernoon.com/meet-spoofy-how-a-si...in-39c711d28eb4
  21. A little more on Amazon takedowns: If you flag an item for trademark infringement, Amazon will not typically remove it unless your trademark is in registered status. We tried a takedown in December for a new product where the TM was still pending and Amazon didn't pull it down. We re-flagged it for a copyright violation and they pulled it down without asking for a copyright registration. If they steal your marketing material, user manual, pictures/photos, etc. that's a hook for alleging a copyright takedown. If you don't want to use the Amazon on-line form, maybe you want to send a longer letter explaining that it's a counterfeit/knockoff/whatever, the contact email addresses for their response teams are: [email protected] [email protected]
