So much for slimming down our exotics, going green and getting heavier seems to be the trend......

Ferrari is also making a hybrid, while Audi is rumored to have an all electric concept R8 in the works, and MB is making an EV version the SLS.

And then in a few years time, a recorded sound of the V12 will be heard on the external speakers of a Lambo, because of the silence of the electric motors.

You guys are acting like all Lamborghinis will be full hybrids. If you don't want one, buy a different model.

Not necessarily that, but this is just a sign of where things are going and to be honest, nobody likes it.

WHO in the FCK will buy an electric Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc over a combustion engine model? I dont see how they'll sell them

Good question, but we may not have a choice in the matter. I see the major exotic car companies doing these electric/green concepts as a CYA excercise, in preparation for meeting a whole new slew of MANDATED govt regulations that they will be forced to comply with.

Well, is it really? You said it yourself: who exactly would want to buy a hybrid Lamborghini? Certainly not any enthusiast, and for a supercar company that's a demographic which represents a huge chunk of the sales.

So as there's a strong sales case for leaving out the electrical drivetrain, the only way it's going to be forced into all the cars is if the politicians stick their noses in. So far they've left the smaller companies alone, and with less than 3,000 cars a year leaving Sant'####, it's hard to justify going after them so long as they're making token environmental efforts (such as the one we're discussing). They'd alienate more voters among the car enthusiast community than they'd sate among the tree-huggers.
