WheelsRCool Report post Posted April 29, 2011 Do you understand where this tradition came from and its purpose? (And I have actually been at a wedding where somebody stood up and objected....) Oh, don't get me wrong, I am not saying this tradition is useless in modern times for weddings, I just mean I do not believe anyone at the ROYAL wedding would have actually stood up and objected. No, you were implying that tradition is useless in modern times... because that is correct. Like RD's example points out, even if someone does have the right BAC level and balls, it still doesn't mean shit for people throwing big money on that day RD what's the origin? Girl had to be a virgin and if someone knew she wasn't they had to call it out - my guess
Smash Boy Report post Posted April 29, 2011 They got married.... And I won the pool (divorced in less than 6 months, which is REALLY not easy given the time constraints of the paperwork) Didn't you tell this story on here before? Or maybe I'm thinking of an awkward dinner conversation...

With the Royal wedding, I mean I just can't imagine it being anything more than a formaility (they don't actually expect anyone to say anything). But with weddings for the average person, I think it depends highly on the people, their religion, etc...

Still waiting... But somehow i I was the bad guy for making that bet! Always thought it'd be funny to be a divorce lawyer, and leave your business card at the guest check-in at the reception, and write - "just in case" on it! capt_chaos Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Well, it is nearly 3 in the morning here and it was good fun. I normally fall into the category of not caring about the Royals and I normally fall into the category of utterly despising weddings. The Royal Family costs the tax payer about £35m a year or 67p for every person. It is estimated that they generate tourism worth approximately £500m or £8 a person... Hard to begrudge them when it costs so little. Today made me very proud to be British, the regal ceremony and the pomp was great, the crowds and parties were brilliant. A lot of you yanks probably do not get it but seeing Pall Mall filled with flags and joyous people was a great site. Mainly because despite having many great reasons to be we as a nation are not very patriotic, many take the stand point that if you have a Union flag or a St George's cross outside of your house you are bound to support the BNP or a xenophobic prick. But all of the flags in Pall Mall was a moving site. The Battle of Britain salute I find very touching. I did get a bit pissed off when I saw morons waving flags from Spain and Mexico. What was the point? Kate or Catherine as she will be known, I have to say looked stunning. I would have been very proud of myself if she was my bride. However her sister... Pippa Middleton looked resplendent and fcuking hot. Clearly not wearing any underwear and has a cracking arse. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/29/p...38.html#s271362 Ol' Hazza clearly did not know where to look! Her in the evening As for my day... Did not turn out as planned. The girl I wanted to spend time with was called away to work and so I just revelled in the day with the fancy dress. Some of you guys will see on FB tomorrow the pics but "Ruddy good time" was had by all. We did start drinking early and sunk a fair few bottles of wine champagne and the killer blow being Champagne and homemade sloe gin (known as a sloe gun) and so one went home a little early to have a little lie down. Jota1995 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 I actually watched a couple of bits and pieces on the way out the door last night. What a huge circus. I guess all the girls watch and relish that princess shit like guys do about becoming a pornstar. I'm of the opinion that the Royal Family does not make the world a worse place and if the numbers are as stated by Captain then all more power to them. SAB Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Have to disagree with you Capt_Chaos, I think Pippa did have underwear on, it was just very hard to spot though! Wish the Lancaster bomber, Spitfire & Hurricane could have flown over a few times, what a great sound from the Merlin engines. The general consensus among the clan I was with was that she had no kecks on underneath but had a lace underdress like a petticoat. Definitely agree with the BOB stuff. You could be right there, not sure what it was but there was something there. Maybe a body or basque, but I'm not an expert. Pippa had a great figure though. WheelsRCool Report post Posted April 30, 2011 capt_chaos, seriously, the people of Britain are not very patriotic? I would have thought if there is any nation outside of the U.S. with a very patriotic people, it's the UK (proud Irish, proud Scottish, proud British, etc...). WheelsRCool Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Before I answer this first up can you just look up what sovereign states are covered under the title of Britain... The United Kingdom is England, Scotland, Wales, and also Northern Ireland. I know there's a separate Republic of Ireland, but I imagine there are Irish who live in Northern Ireland as well...?
