fcuk CNN & Fox News for covering the heat wave, Murdoch & the debt ceiling more then this. I've been watching both channels for 20 minutes and they have only mentioned the story and how they are going to get to it..

 

It's 3:40 PM central time and HLN (HEADLINE NEWS) is not talking about it at all. They keep talking about Octomom getting confronted on an airplane about her noisey babies and how people can look at porn at public libraries and Casey Anthony. NONE of this shit is HEADLINE NEWS. No wonder this country is so fucked up. We live in a bubble where the most important thing going on in peoples lives is the need to know what the fcuk Octomom and Casey Anthony are doing.

Yesterday I bought planetickets and booked a hotel in Oslo downtown. Going to be there on tuesday. But I am now thinking about the security as the hotel is between railwaystation and the megabuck operahouse. And airport might be easy target for someone. How locals are taking these. Is there possibility that riots or etc might occure? I hope this was now all of it and everyone from our board is okay.

Just speculations at this point. Seems like an awful coincidence though, this kind of things "never" happens in Norway.

 

Let me say that Norway is a very small country, just shy of 5 million people. In the US we would be what, a medium sized city? But we are extremely resourceful, and are one of the USA's closes allies, despite our size. I don't know if this has anything to do with the attacks, but I hope we will still be after this, and I'm sure that the US will support us in any way we feel necessary.

I was in the same spot where the explosion happened just a week ago, together with my family !

We're so lucky I pulled the trip forward by a week since otherwise the schedule of our trip would have been to be in Oslo today.

Honestly I would never expect such horrific events to happen in a place like Oslo which is really a laid back town.

 

My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones and especially with the young guys and girls on the island that had to go through such difficult hours....

They use this and also MP5s are pretty common. They don't normally carry weapons, but I believe most of them carry pistols in a lockbox in their car and heavier weapons at the police station that they can grab when needed.

 

They also found undetonated explosives on the island.

You can't choose your race, but you can choose your political or religious beliefs (or lack thereof). What makes me angry is that normally, religions are off-limits for criticism in public discourse for fear of offending someone or disrespecting their beliefs. Furthermore, when criticizing a religion like Islam, for example, and more specifically targeting strict-adherers of that religion - one comes under fire as being a racist or un-accepting of other people's beliefs. Sorry, but you blow up trains and subways, fly planes into buildings, and kill innocent kids, and your entire shared base of faith or politics is at risk for criticism - the same way Quakers, Janes, or Amish would be susceptible to criticism. The same applies to any company, if one type of company or one specific company kept committing the same crimes or violating the same laws, you bet your ass that regulations would come raining down on that specific industry, company, or even the head of that company - and it would be perfectly legal to do so, not "disrespectful" of the industry.

 

*Edit* If this was not religiously-motivated, but politically, the same could still apply. We should be able to hold people and organizations accountable, be it political, religious, or commercial, public or private.

It all sounds so weird. So the guy on the island went over there after the explosions in Oslo, telling them he was there to do a routine check for explosives. And eventually he starts shooting and cops found explosives on the island as well.
