jimgraham Report post Posted April 8, 2014 That's not a Barrett 416 as such. This is an Armalite AR-50A1 chambered in the "Barrett 416" round which was developed initially to get round the California 50BMG ban some years ago : ) The barrel is engraved with the caliber. http://www.armalite.com/Categories.aspx?Ca...54-fc0f346544cd

Fortitude Report post Posted April 9, 2014 Now as a man I like guns and find them fun to shoot. but coming from a country where gun prohibition exists, can someone tell me why on earth you would need a gun like that? Its legal in Australia and I would guess every other country that allows bolt guns too, though I do know there is a few countries that ban military cartridges and the 416 is a necked down 50 BMG. emanon Report post Posted April 9, 2014 It weighs @ 70 lbs without ammo! Ain't happenin! I'm sure it's heavy as shit, but there is no way that gun is 70lbs. Aren't the Barrett M107 around 30lbs?

Zambrano Report post Posted April 9, 2014 What makes it military grade? Ehhrrr maybe I express myself wrong. My point is that this weapons, exclusive for militia and law enforcement here in Mexico, are smuggled and used by the wrong people. (Because is off-topic... I´ll stop)

Tractor-trailers are used to smuggle drugs across the border to the US. We should probably ban them too. If I believe Clear and Present Danger baseball bats are used to persuade the truth to come out of those you disagree with. We should ban them for sure! Roman Report post Posted April 9, 2014 So... To those who question "civilians" owning such guns, let me add this fact to the discussion. The Barrett 50bmg (this is basically the same gun) has been around 25 years now. In that time there has been only three crimes committed with one in the US.... And only one person has been shot with one...
