Fisherman's Castle! My wife is from Houma, we drive from Houston to all over that state visiting her family.

This the Iris Bayou right? I used to pass by this everyday. Was it damaged after Katrina?

 

It was in bad shape but Katrina didn't have that much to do with it. More deferred maintenance and excessive leaks throughout the years.

 

It will be restored better then new.

Not sure how I missed this thread. But thats very interesting..

 

Now not many people can say they own a castle..you have one and you post updated pics of a lamp and a corner of a wall? LOL.

Keeping y'all in suspense so you keep coming back for more. Lol.

 

I have an artist painting the interior and he is in no rush. I'm going there this weekend to see how far along he has gotten.

 

Next is landscaping. Need ideas.

This is a super cool project! Good luck with everything and definitely keep us posted with pictures and stories!

 

I was just in New Orleans about a month ago driving on the I-10 and I can't believe I missed this.

Maze garden comes to mind. If you type that into google and click images there are examples of rounded mazes so you stay away from rectangles ;)
